Joseph Peter Breck (March 13, 1929 – February 6, 2012) was an American character actor of stage, television, and film. The rugged, dark-haired Breck played the gambler and gunfighter John H. "Doc" Holliday on the ABC/Warner Brothers television series Maverick but is best known for his role as Victoria Barkley's (Barbara Stanwyck) hot-tempered, middle son Nick in the popular 1960s ABC western, The Big Valley.
Breck was the son of Joe Breck, "a popular show business figure of the 1930s." His parents divorced when Peter was 8. Peter went with Joe, while George accompanied their mother, resulting in a decades-long separation. In 1959, an Associated Press photograph showed the brothers reunited after being out of touch for 22 years. The caption explained: "George told newsmen he saw Peter on television and recognized a resemblance. He went to the actor's studio and the relationship was confirmed."
After United States Navy service on the aircraft carrier USS Franklin D. Roosevelt (CV-42), Breck studied drama at the University of Houston. He made his debut in a film that was eventually released under the title The Beatniks (film). As well as performing in live theatre, Breck had several guest-starring roles on a number of popular series, such as Sea Hunt, several episodes of Wagon Train, Have Gun – Will Travel, Perry Mason, and Gunsmoke. In 1956, he and David Janssen appeared in John Bromfield's syndicated series Sheriff of Cochise in the episode entitled "The Turkey Farmers". He appeared in another syndicated series too in the episode "The Deserter" of the American Civil War drama Gray Ghost, with Tod Andrews in the title role.
Lee Majors (born Harvey Lee Yeary; April 23, 1939) is an American television, film and voice actor. He is known for his roles as Heath Barkley in the TV series The Big Valley (1965–69), as Colonel Steve Austin in The Six Million Dollar Man (1973–78), and as Colt Seavers in The Fall Guy (1981–86).
In the late 1980s and 1990s, he reprised the role of Steve Austin in a number of TV movies, and appeared in a number of supporting, recurring and cameo roles in feature films and TV series, and lent his voice to a number of animated TV series and video games.
Majors was born in Wyandotte, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. His parents, Carl and Alice Yeary, were both killed in separate accidents (prior to his birth and when he was one year old, respectively). At age two, Majors was adopted by an uncle and aunt and moved with them to Middlesboro, Kentucky.
He participated in track and football at Middlesboro High School. He graduated in 1957, and earned a scholarship to Indiana University, where he again competed in sports. Majors transferred to Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky, in 1959. He played in his first game the following year, but suffered a severe back injury which left him paralyzed for two weeks, and ended his college football career. Following his injury, he turned his attention to acting and performed in plays at the Pioneer Playhouse in Danville, Kentucky. Majors graduated from Eastern Kentucky in 1962 with a degree in History and Physical Education.
Linda Evans (born on November 18, 1942) is an American actress known primarily for her roles on television. In the 1960s, she gained notice for playing Audra Barkley in the Western television series, The Big Valley (1965–1969). However she is most prominently known for the role of Krystle Carrington in the 1980s ABC prime time soap opera Dynasty, a role she played from 1981 to 1989.
Born Linda Evenstad in Hartford, Connecticut, Evans was the second of three daughters to a couple who were professional dancers. "Evenstad" was the name of the small farm in Nes, Hedmark in Norway from where her paternal great-grandmother emigrated to the US in 1884 with her young son (Evans' grandfather) and a couple of relatives. When Evans was six months old, the family moved from Hartford to North Hollywood. To bring her out of her shyness, a teacher insisted that she take drama at school. When she started her professional career, she changed her last name to "Evans".
Evans' first guest-starring role was on a 1960 episode of Bachelor Father, which starred her future screen husband, John Forsythe. She would co-star with him 20 years later on Dynasty. After several guest roles in The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet between 1960–62, and guest appearances on television series such as Wagon Train and Outlaws, Evans gained her first regular role in 1965 in The Big Valley. Playing Audra Barkley, daughter of Victoria Barkley (played by Barbara Stanwyck), Evans was credited in the series until it ended in 1969, though she was only a semi-regular castmember during the last two seasons.
The Big Valley is an American western television series which ran on ABC from September 15, 1965, to May 19, 1969. The show stars Barbara Stanwyck, as the widow of a wealthy 19th century California rancher. It was created by A.I. Bezzerides and Louis F. Edelman, and produced by Levy-Gardner-Laven for Four Star Television.
The TV series was based loosely on the Hill Ranch, which was located at the western edge of Calaveras County, not far from Stockton. One episode placed the Barkley Ranch a few hours' ride from town, while another has Jarrod riding past a Calaveras County sign on his way to the TV series' ranch. The Hill Ranch existed from 1855 until 1931, including almost 30,000 acres; and the Mokelumne River ran through it. The source is from an episode in which Heath is on trial in a ghost town with another man (played by Leslie Nielsen) and tells the judge how much land they have. Lawson Hill ran the ranch until he was murdered in 1861. His wife Euphemia (aka "Auntie Hill") then became the matriarch. During their marriage they had four children, one daughter and three sons. Today, the location of the ranch is covered by the waters of Lake Camanche. A California state historical marker standing at Camanche South Shore Park mentions the historic ranch. The set used to film the exterior of the Barkley Mansion stood on the backlot of Republic Studios from 1947 until 1975.
Richard Long (December 17, 1927 – December 21, 1974) was an American actor better known for his leading roles in three ABC television series, including The Big Valley, Nanny and the Professor, and Bourbon Street Beat. He was also a series regular on ABC's 77 Sunset Strip from 1960-62.
Long was the fifth of six children born in Chicago, to Sherman D. Long, a commercial artist who operated his own studio, and Dale McCord Long. The family settled in Evanston, where Long attended grammar school. He attended Waller High School in Chicago and Evanston Township High School. In 1944, the family relocated again, to Hollywood, California, and Long attended Hollywood High School for his senior year. Long said that as a teenager he had "no intention of becoming an actor. I took senior drama class because it was a snap course, and I needed the credit for my English requirement".
At Hollywood High School, Long caught the eye of a talent scout from Universal-International by accident. Casting director Jack Murton gave a ride to a couple of students and asked them if a school play was scheduled. The boys told Murton about the excellent male lead actor, Richard Long.

The Mahabharata is one of the two major Sanskrit epics of ancient India, the other being the Ramayana, and contains many of the philosophical concepts from the Vedas. Peter Brook's original 1985 stage play 'The Mahabharata' was 9 hours long, and toured around the world for four years. In 1989, it was reduced to under 6 hours for television. The Mahabaratha tells of the Pandavas, Prince Arjuna and his four brothers, growing up in north India at the court of their uncle, the blind King Dhritarashtra, after the death of their father, the previous ruler. There is always great rivalry between the Pandavas or sons of Pandu and the Kauravas, the one hundred sons of Dhritarashtra. Eventually the old king gives his nephews some land of their own but his eldest son, Duryodhana, defeats Yudhisthira,...

Video has surfaced of actress Linda Evans being pulled over on suspicion of driving under the influence. The former Dynasty star is told by a traffic cop in Washington state that she should not be behind the wheel. "Unfortunately, I believe you are under the influence," the officer told her. Evans, who is now 74, told the cop during the 2014 bust that she has a bad back and was taking medication. The video shows the officer calling a dispatcher and saying, "I found a baggie of pink pills."
She may have been one of TV's biggest stars, but the soap opera queen tells ET she had dark days when she thought about ending it all.
Barbara Walters interviews Linda Evans sometime during the mid-1980s at her home in Beverly Hills. She discusses her ex-husband John Derek and him leaving her for an unknown teenager named Bo; her career and her lack of ambition; and reveals what she would ask for if she was granted three wishes.
In-depth interview with actresses Linda Evans and Joan Collins about their time on the 1980's TV show "Dynasty". They discuss how they got their iconic roles of Krystle Carrington and Alexis Colby, the show's appeal, the fashions they wore, and their legendary on-screen catfights. In addition, they share their memories of late colleagues Rock Hudson and Aaron Spelling, and talk about working with John Forsythe, who was still alive at the time of this interview. Other topics include their upcoming play "Legends", aging issues, and their personal lives. Joan talks about her marriage to Percy Gibson, a man thirty years her junior, and her lawsuit against publishing giant Random House, while Linda discusses her previous relationships with actor John Derek and New Age musician Yanni.
Before he made international headlines as an award-winning pianist, Yanni was most known for his nine-year relationship with Dynasty actress Linda Evans in the '90s. Though they broke up in 1998, Yanni still holds Linda in high regard. Watch as he shares an intimate rarity about their time as a couple and why she is one of the "most amazing human beings" he's ever met. The valley where i can feel the infinite
Cold touch of time forever
The valley which leans over me to defend
And i lived there as a slave
She became my mother and father
And the only one who really knows me
And when i close my eyes forever
She will known why i do it
The valley where the sky is far-away
I sometimes leave for her on a path
But flow is coming and sweeping away
"don't run away" - whispers the wind
The valley only can hear my last words
Among the flowers fed with loneliness
[Chorus:]
The valley where in my own world
I live alone
Now i say goodbye, i'm waited in the sky
The valley will tell that she was the only with me
[Chorus:]
The valley where in my own world
I live alone
Nobody can see my smile
