Tunes (SEAC) I saw an interview with Johnny Paycheck a few months ago from sometime in the mid-90s and that was one thing stuck out to me. He something about Playback Records wanting to do future recordings with the Outlaw.I'm not too familiar with post-1980 Paycheck albums, I know about what happened to him than what he recorded. It seems in the 80's, his recording quality went down after he had that big spike with Take This Job and Shove it and then to me it looked like people noticed what he really recorded, that good old country sound and style despite him adding more of the outlawic (Yeah I know, I made my own term up) elements into his albums, which personally, I don't prefer, I like his early to late 80's albums, but yeah it seem he faded a bit after and funding therefore went down. Similarly with the Possum after he went bankrupt, and he may have had the same fate if it were not for He Stopped Loving Her Today. That's a brief thing on, I'd rant on but after this it stops applying. As far as I know, this is the only album on playback, correct e if I'm wrong. There is a rare album titled "Remembering", I think it was 2002 or 2001 but that wasn't on the label. More on that at a later time. If I'm wrong anywhere, please comment in below. But by this point, it's more of legacy, love for music and fans. That said, it's a good album if you're really into Paycheck. It's pretty rare, Goodwill sold one on their site for like 10.71, not the averaging 50+, so I jumped on it. Some of the tracks sound like his late 80's stuff, Difference in Me definitely has that 90's style of country that seems to be a mix George And Alan like styles, personally, I think it's good, but it definitely is not Johnny's distinct style. The label really seems to be pushing the whole background choir like chorus. I relly don't like that aspect, same on some George's later stuff, not necessarily same exact sense, I really wish they would live the masters to their stuff. I'd rather hear their voices.The version of Old Violin on this probably would've been the best if it wasn't spoiled by the stupid chorus toward the end, so the best version id still on the Modern Times album, which is not the easiest album to find. Despite that, I'm just gonna say that Toast of the Town is, is quite lame, all the puns and trite lines is too perfect, I love it. Rare albums like this are easily accessible on iTunes, I personally hate Apple for various past experiences, I don't use it, if you are an iPhone person, go crazy, I insist. I'm not sure if they're on the Google Music, I don't know. I like hunting for these rare original releases and physical and media. I do not own any of the rights I just love the artists and their material and sharing it. I do not nor tend to imply that I own any of the rights.
