Shridhar (actor)
Sridhar is an Indian actor in the Kannada film industry, and also a dance scholar, performer and choreographer, trained in Bharatanatyam. He also holds a degree in Engineering. Sridhar is married to Anuradha, also a Bharatanatyam dance performer; both have performed for many dance shows as a duo.
Film career
He entered Kannada cinema as a hero in film Amrutha Ghalige, directed by Puttanna Kanagal. Since then he has acted in more than 60 films and has won many awards for his performances. He has acted in five languages namely Kannada Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi.
Kannada
He won the Karnataka State Government's Best Actor Award for his performance as the saint-poet Sharief, in the film "Santa Shishunala Shariefa". This film also won the prestigious Nargis Dutt award from the Central Government. His film Bannada Vesha in Kannada won the regional best film award in which he portrayed the character of a yakshagana artist. He also acted in many devotional films.
Tamil
K.Balachander introduced him to the Tamil screen with his film "Manathil Uruthi Vendum" (with Suhasini). He later acted in several Tamil films including Poo Pootta Nandavanam (with Sarita), Maha Maayi (with Shobhana).

Plot: Leela and Bholaram are a childless couple. Leela works as a midwife, and one day assists Sunderdas' wife to give birth to twin boys. Leela and Bholaram bring up Kanhaiya, while Sunderdas attempts to bring up Kishen, but is unable to do a good job. So he marries Kamini, who comes along with her brother, Ghendamal, to live at the estate. She has an illegitimate child named Ramesh from another man, and when Sunderdas comes to know of this, he is threatened and attacked, and as a result of which p is paralyzed, unable to move. Kishen is brought by Kamini and Ghendamal with lot of abuse, and intimidation, and is kept illiterate, so that he can blindly sign away whatever documents he is asked to sign. Kishen likes Radha, a servant, and is married, but the atrocities do not stop, and then Kishen runs away. Ghendamal captures Kanhaiya, who also looks like Kishen, and brings him back, not realizing that the tables are now going against him.

The father is a strict disciplinarian who is very class conscious and cares only for his art. The maestro's eldest son was born mute and hence had to take to an instrument, the nadhaswaram, which he is quite adept at. The father looks upon his younger son to carry on his artistic legacy in vocal music. Kamal Haasan's character on the contrary has limited interest in classical music and is more interested in social services. This causes a rift between son and father. The film depicts how the son gains fame through serving the people and ultimately winning his father's respect.

Agni Sreedhar was an underworld don, who became a journalist and a writer. The book starts with his days as a student in Bangalore. From silly brawls in the campus to bigger things, it leads him on to a life of crime. Soon he finds himself in the middle of a raging feud between two of Bangalore’s biggest dons– Kothwal Ramachandra and M P Jayaraj. Ramachandra is finally killed by his arch rival Jayaraj with the help of Shreedhar.
The books makes no bones about the politicians who shielded underworld dons, the degeneracy of it all and ultimately Sreedhar’s own disgust with the life of crime.
Sreedhar’s style is crisp and simple. And the narrative is gripping. If you are a Bangalore fan like me, you should pick up the book. There’s a movie based on the book, called Aa Dinagalu. It was critically acclaimed but to be honest, I don’t think it did justice to the book.

The movie begins with Chandu (Siddharth Narayan) and Siri (Shruti Haasan) as childhood friends. Chandu and Siri call each other "Faltoos" and "Killer", respectively, affectionately. Their friendship remains intact even as they grow up. Chandu who was sent to mumbai to do MBA, instead learns music and returns home which leads to agony of his father. However, Siri convinces Chandu's father that it is her responsibility to take care of Chandu's career. They go for an audition there they get a fight with a band and he is sent out of the audition. Prior to that, Siri accepts the love proposal by Uday (Navdeep), who lives in US after consulting Chandu. Later, Chandu and Siri accidentally meet their common friend in college, Ritu Sharma (Hansika Motwani) and Chandu falls in love with her at first sight. Chandu starts spending time with Ritu to impress her, but Siri feels that she is being avoided. Siri decides to leave for a dancing School at Chennai. Meanwhile, Ritu accepts Chandu's love proposal. When Siri is about to leave, Chandu apologises her that he had not noticed that she was being avoided. At the same time, Uday comes back from US to surprise her. Hence, she decides not to leave.

The movie begins with Chandu (Siddharth Narayan) and Siri (Shruti Haasan) as childhood friends. Chandu and Siri call each other "Faltoos" and "Killer", respectively, affectionately. Their friendship remains intact even as they grow up. Chandu who was sent to mumbai to do MBA, instead learns music and returns home which leads to agony of his father. However, Siri convinces Chandu's father that it is her responsibility to take care of Chandu's career. They go for an audition there they get a fight with a band and he is sent out of the audition. Prior to that, Siri accepts the love proposal by Uday (Navdeep), who lives in US after consulting Chandu. Later, Chandu and Siri accidentally meet their common friend in college, Ritu Sharma (Hansika Motwani) and Chandu falls in love with her at first sight. Chandu starts spending time with Ritu to impress her, but Siri feels that she is being avoided. Siri decides to leave for a dancing School at Chennai. Meanwhile, Ritu accepts Chandu's love proposal. When Siri is about to leave, Chandu apologises her that he had not noticed that she was being avoided. At the same time, Uday comes back from US to surprise her. Hence, she decides not to leave.

Agni Sreedhar was an underworld don, who became a journalist and a writer. The book starts with his days as a student in Bangalore. From silly brawls in the campus to bigger things, it leads him on to a life of crime. Soon he finds himself in the middle of a raging feud between two of Bangalore’s biggest dons– Kothwal Ramachandra and M P Jayaraj. Ramachandra is finally killed by his arch rival Jayaraj with the help of Shreedhar.
The books makes no bones about the politicians who shielded underworld dons, the degeneracy of it all and ultimately Sreedhar’s own disgust with the life of crime.
Sreedhar’s style is crisp and simple. And the narrative is gripping. If you are a Bangalore fan like me, you should pick up the book. There’s a movie based on the book, called Aa Dinagalu. It was critically acclaimed but to be honest, I don’t think it did justice to the book.
