Believe it or not, Robert Barranco does more than smearing peanut butter in his face and doing deadly cavemans. While most "Day in the Life's" are overly glamorized and have people making their days seem way cooler than normal, this is pretty much realistic. If anything, Bert normally get's into even more adventures late at night, but I cut off the filming at like 2AM because I had to get up early the next day. Bert is an awesome kid who really knows how to have a good time, and I think he is a perfect example of how we all need to take a step back sometimes and not take things so seriously. Bert may not have the best tricks or the best style, but he is 100% one of my favorite riders because he is a great reminder that you don't need to be the best BMX rider to get somewhere with it.
I wasn't really in the video much for a couple reasons. Obviously I was filming the whole time, and I also have a pretty bad heel issue that I will talk about in the next weekly update. It was actually kind-of fun to be behind the scenes for once.
If any of you have filmed or edited before, you know how much work it is to put together a 3 minute video. Now imagine a 30 minute video.... I pretty much set aside an entire weekend to put this together because I really wanted to make it awesome. At CIne-Real this month we screened a lovely 16mm technicolor print of the 1958 Dutch short documentary film by director and producer Bert Haanstra. The film won the Academy Award for Documentary Short Subject in 1959. The film is about the glass industry in the Netherlands. It contrasts the handmade crystal from the Royal Leerdam Glass Factory with automated bottle making machines. The accompanying music ranges from jazz to techno. Short segments of artisans making various glass goods by hand are joined with those of mass production. It is often acclaimed to be the perfect short documentary.

Bert Kreischer
Albert "Bert" "The Machine" Kreischer is an American stand-up comedian, actor, and reality television host. In 1997, as a member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity, he was featured in Rolling Stone as "the top partier" at Florida State University, the "top party school in the US", while he was in his sixth year of college. The Rolling Stone article was the inspiration for the 2002 movie Van Wilder. From 2000 to 2001, he was the co-host of the FX Network variety show The X Show. A segment that aired on the show, "Ass Wax", where Kreischer had his hair removed with hot wax, led Kreischer to gain his own show on the FX Network, titled Hurt Bert, in 2004. In the same year, he had a role in an episode of the police drama The Shield.
Kreischer claims that on a college field trip to Russia, he drank with the Russian mob (after accidentally introducing himself with the phrase "Я машина") and even participated in a robbery while intoxicated. He talked about these exploits on June 5, 2006 on Loveline; on January 14, 2011, on DC101's Elliot in the Morning; April 5, 2011, on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast #95; Opie and Anthony on June 28, 2011; WTF with Marc Maron on January 9, 2012; WMMR's Preston and Steve Show on January 12, 2012; on The Todd and Tyler Radio Empire on August 2, 2012; and on WIYY/98 Rock's Morning Show Mickey, Amelia, and Spiegel.

Sesame Street
Sesame Street is a long-running American children's television series created by Joan Ganz Cooney and Lloyd Morrisett. The program is known for its educational content, and images communicated through the use of Jim Henson's Muppets, animation, short films, humor, and cultural references. The series premiered on November 10, 1969, to positive reviews, some controversy, and high viewership; it has aired on the U.S.'s national public television provider (PBS) since its debut, with its first run moving to premium channel HBO on January 16, 2016.
The show has undergone significant changes throughout its history. At CIne-Real this month we screened a lovely 16mm technicolor print of the 1958 Dutch short documentary film by director and producer Bert Haanstra. The film won the Academy Award for Documentary Short Subject in 1959. The film is about the glass industry in the Netherlands. It contrasts the handmade crystal from the Royal Leerdam Glass Factory with automated bottle making machines. The accompanying music ranges from jazz to techno. Short segments of artisans making various glass goods by hand are joined with those of mass production. It is often acclaimed to be the perfect short documentary.

Believe it or not, Robert Barranco does more than smearing peanut butter in his face and doing deadly cavemans. While most "Day in the Life's" are overly glamorized and have people making their days seem way cooler than normal, this is pretty much realistic. If anything, Bert normally get's into even more adventures late at night, but I cut off the filming at like 2AM because I had to get up early the next day. Bert is an awesome kid who really knows how to have a good time, and I think he is a perfect example of how we all need to take a step back sometimes and not take things so seriously. Bert may not have the best tricks or the best style, but he is 100% one of my favorite riders because he is a great reminder that you don't need to be the best BMX rider to get somewhere with it.
I wasn't really in the video much for a couple reasons. Obviously I was filming the whole time, and I also have a pretty bad heel issue that I will talk about in the next weekly update. It was actually kind-of fun to be behind the scenes for once.
If any of you have filmed or edited before, you know how much work it is to put together a 3 minute video. Now imagine a 30 minute video.... I pretty much set aside an entire weekend to put this together because I really wanted to make it awesome. If you enjoyed this video please hit the like button, comment, or maybe even share with a friend. YouTube is super automated nowadays, and the more interactions we have with you guys, the higher this video is ranked which means more people get to see it!

Bert started tattooing and painting around 2000 and has become known for combining “classic” tattoo iconography, with his own distinct heavy-line styles and color palettes - so well known, that he has flown around the world to perform his art. When not tattooing, he is painting with watercolors and liquid acrylics, taking his imagery to a much more developed stature.
