Whilst taking a walk along the seafront, i filmed a clip to send to a friend, then decided, i'd film a bit more, then more, and it became a bit of a film, but shows a bit of why i love Southsea with it's views over the Solent.
Ok, the video quality isn't the best, as i only had my phone with me, but hey, it gives a taste of the place.

Tower
A tower is a tall structure, taller than it is wide, often by a significant margin. Towers are distinguished from masts by their lack of guy-wires and are therefore, along with tall buildings, self-supporting structures.
Towers are specifically distinguished from "buildings" in that they are not built to be habitable but to serve other functions. The principal function is the use of their height to enable various functions to be achieved including: visibility of other features attached to the tower such clock towers; as part of a larger structure or device to increase the visibility of the surroundings as in a fortified building such as a castle; or as a structural feature as an integral part of a bridge.
Towers can be stand alone structures or be supported by adjacent buildings or can be a feature on top of a large structure or building.
History
Towers have been used by mankind since prehistoric times. The oldest known may be the circular stone tower in walls of Neolithic Jericho (8000 BC). Some of the earliest towers were ziggurats, which existed in Sumerian architecture since the 4th millennium BC. The most famous ziggurats include the Sumerian Ziggurat of Ur, built the 3rd millennium BC, and the Etemenanki, one of the most famous examples of Babylonian architecture. The latter was built in Babylon during the 2nd millennium BC and was considered the tallest tower of the ancient world.

Devonshire Park Lawn Tennis Club
The Devonshire Park Lawn Tennis Club is a tennis complex in Eastbourne, United Kingdom. The complex is the host of the annual ATP and WTA Tour tournament called the AEGON Eastbourne International. The stadium court has a capacity of 8,000 people. The Devonshire Park opened its gates to the public on July 1, 1874 and in the following year, for the first time, a tennis court was marked out on its prestigious lawns. A little later in 1877 the All England Croquet and Lawn Tennis Club set about regularising the laws of lawn tennis and produced its first tournament at Wimbledon running from July 9–16 of that year.

Another trip to Blackpool to film the Trams between The Pleasure Beach and The North Pier, unlike last year on the 17th September 2010, it was Raining The rare thing on the day was the Western Train which is part of the Illuminations tour which was out, Jubliee, Railcoach and Centenary Cars running along the Sea Front with services to North Pier, Little Bispham and Bispham, even took a trip to Starr Gate when the new depot is and the lights oof the Bombardier Flexi 2 trams! also a trip to the old depot when you can still see the Baloon Trams, filmed 12th October 2011

The rare thing on the day was the Western Train which is part of the Illuminations tour which was out, Jubliee, Railcoach and Centenary Cars running along the Sea Front with services to North Pier, Little Bispham and Bispham, even took a trip to Starr Gate when the new depot is and the lights oof the Bombardier Flexi 2 trams! also a trip to the old depot when you can still see the Baloon Trams, filmed 12th October 2011

This cycle ride runs between Cleveleys and Fleetwood, on the northwest coast of England U.K. Cyclists battle against the ever present changeable wind. Often, with gale force, it keeps the ardent cyclist strong.
This evening is probably the last time, until 2017, that cyclists may use this route. Sea front renovation work,"Rossall Coastal Defence Scheme", means that closures will take place from tomorrow.
