THINGS TO KNOW:
April is 15 - her 4th calf
April has never lost a calf nor had a stillborn
Oliver is 5 - his 1st calf
They have some of the largest indoor stalls in the nation (sq ft per animal). We take pride in our indoor housing and the level of enrichment and care to keep them happy and healthy. Unsafe weather and yard conditions may limit their yard access.
The calf will weigh around 150lb and will be about 6' tall at birth.
The front hooves will come out first followed by the snout.
Mom will naturally raise the calf, with weaning could take between 6-10 months, maybe longer. We will not rush this process – it is just a documented range of captive weaning.
Once the calf is born, we will have a contest to name it.
The keepers will go in with April, clean her pen, give her treats (but not Oliver). He is a bull - and a bull is a bull is a bull!
Giraffes are pregnant for 15 months on average
Upon naturally weaning, the calf will move on to another facility to start a breeding program there. We cannot retain offspring, as it would lead to incestuous mating and undermine the genetics of the program and species.
Those "things" on their heads are called ossicones.
Bulls (male giraffes) only really care about two things- fighting and the unmentionable....
Oliver may share space with April, but for short periods. Bulls take no part in rearing young.
They eat hay and specialized giraffe diet but love romaine lettuce and carrot treats.
April's water source, enrichment, and solo hay feeder are out of sight of the camera view.
This is Animal Adventure's first giraffe calf.

Baby Love is about a broken heart, and the basic concept of the video is one of a hysterical, broken hearted woman dancing the pain away. Even as I was writing the song, I knew where the video should be shot. I was really connected to the story of the school girls in Nigeria who where kidnapped. I couldn’t stop thinking about those girls, about how they used to have normal lives with dreams, style, and broken hearts too… I couldn't forget them. In the video I wanted to show that these girls are strong and ambitious, with hopes and dreams, broken hearts. Hadija is one of the main characters in the video, and she was so perfect. She had the perfect strong and ambitious character, and told me about her dreams to be an actress. It's her who I follow in the video in the desert. Questions of Regina's startling vocal similarity to Madonna on her debut solo LP resonated through the industry upon its release and became the overriding factor in its short-lived popularity. The set's first single, "Baby Love," was the main culprit. Co-written by Regina with producer Stephen Bray and Mary Kessler, "Baby Love" was originally intended for Madonna - who did cut a demo of the song, but scrapped it. One can only speculate on the subsequent circumstances; but Bray, who co-wrote much of Madonna's wildly successful Like a Virgin, ended up producing the track for Regina, and it became a top-10 pop hit. While Regina here undeniably employs the chirpy tone and coquettish nuances Madonna had become known for, a few listens to Curiosity demonstrate who's the better vocalist of the two.
Contrary to popular belief at the time, Regina was not a start-up. She was actually on record before Madonna, fronting the band Regina Richards & Red Hot on an obscure A&M; album in 1981; the next year releasing the independent solo single, "Deep Dreaming." While Curiosity is much different than the "Head On" pop/rock sound she established with her earlier material, her songwriting and vocal abilities are perfectly intact here. Unfortunately, the strong attempt to write and sing Madonna-esque songs does detract at times. But not all of the cuts suffer from this syndrome, and the singer proves herself more substantial in both areas than La M. A healthy supply of session singers (including Gwen Guthrie, Tawatha, Siedah Garrett, and Evan Rogers) doesn't hurt either. The standouts are the riveting R&B;/rock fusion "Sentimental Love"; the snazzy titlecut, especially thanks to its playful lyrics; and the light, Motown-esque soul groove of "Just Like You." On these cuts, Regina sounds her most spirited, and the arrangements are vibrant. Additionally, "Love Time" and "Bring Me All Your Love" do a good job of meshing pop/dance radio trends with jazzy R&B; shades. But the other single releases - "Beat of Love," "Head On," and "Say Goodbye" - only continued the sound-alike concept, and Regina became a one-hit act. She released one more single for Atlantic in 1988, "Extraordinary Love," as well as "Track You Down" on the small Centurion in 1990 (A "forthcoming" album entitled Best Kept Secret was promoted here, but if it in fact was released, it's quite a rarity.)

Written and produced by Motown's main production team Holland–Dozier–Holland (H–D–H), the song topped the Billboard pop singles chart in the United States from October 25, 1964 through November 21, 1964, and in the United Kingdom pop singles chart concurrently. Considered one of the most popular songs of the late 20th century, "Baby Love" was ranked #324 on the Rolling Stone list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

Overview
At the insistence of Berry Gordy hoping for a follow-up chart-topper, H–D–H produced "Baby Love" was produced to sound elementarily like "Where Did Our Love Go;" elements such as Diana Ross's cooing lead vocal and oohing, Florence Ballard and Mary Wilson's "baby-baby" backup, the Funk Brothers' instrumental track, and teenager Mike Valvano's footstomping were reincorporated into the single. Further, both Ballard and Wilson had brief solo ad-libs towards the end of the song on the released version (after this release Ross would be the only member to have any solos on the 1960s singles). The group made their debut television performance in the United Kingdom on the popular BBC program Top of the Pops on Thursday, October 15, 1964.

Infant

Nicole Scherzinger
Nicole Scherzinger (/niˈkoʊl ˈʃɜːrzɪŋər/; born Nicole Prescovia Elikolani Valiente; June 29, 1978) is an American recording artist, actress and television personality. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, she performed in various singing competitions and musicals before joining American rock band Days of the New as a backing vocalist and later becoming one of the members of the ill-fated girl group Eden's Crush in 2001. She rose to fame as the lead singer of the burlesque troupe turned-recording act, the Pussycat Dolls becoming one of the world's best-selling girl groups of all time. During their hiatus Scherzinger planned to embark on her solo career with Her Name is Nicole but was later shelved after four singles failed to impact the charts. Following the disbandment of the Pussycat Dolls, Scherzinger became a judge for two seasons of The Sing-Off and in 2010 won the tenth season of Dancing with the Stars.
In 2011 she released her debut studio album, Killer Love to moderate success. It featured the top-ten hits "Don't Hold Your Breath" and "Right There". Later that year she served as a judge during the first season of the American version of The X Factor before heading to the UK version for two years in 2012. Her second studio album, Big Fat Lie (2014) had a minor impact on the charts. Its release was preceded by three singles including, "Your Love". For starring in the 2014 West End revival of the musical Cats Scherzinger garnered a Laurence Olivier Award nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical.

The Supremes
The Supremes were an American female singing group and the premier act of Motown Records during the 1960s. Founded as the Primettes in Detroit, Michigan, in 1959, the Supremes were the most commercially successful of Motown's acts and are, to date, America's most successful vocal group with 12 number one singles on the Billboard Hot 100. Most of these hits were written and produced by Motown's main songwriting and production team, Holland–Dozier–Holland. At their peak in the mid-1960s, the Supremes rivaled the Beatles in worldwide popularity, and it is said that their success made it possible for future African American R&B and soul musicians to find mainstream success.
Founding members Florence Ballard, Mary Wilson, Diana Ross, and Betty McGlown, all from the Brewster-Douglass public housing project in Detroit, formed the Primettes as the sister act to the Primes (with Paul Williams and Eddie Kendricks, who went on to form the Temptations).Barbara Martin replaced McGlown in 1960, and the group signed with Motown the following year as the Supremes. Co-written by Regina with producer Stephen Bray and Mary Kessler, "Baby Love" was originally intended for Madonna - who did cut a demo of the song, but scrapped it. One can only speculate on the subsequent circumstances; but Bray, who co-wrote much of Madonna's wildly successful Like a Virgin, ended up producing the track for Regina, and it became a top-10 pop hit. While Regina here undeniably employs the chirpy tone and coquettish nuances Madonna had become known for, a few listens to Curiosity demonstrate who's the better vocalist of the two. Contrary to popular belief at the time, Regina was not a start-up. She was actually on record before Madonna, fronting the band Regina Richards & Red Hot on an obscure A&M; album in 1981; the next year releasing the independent solo single, "Deep Dreaming." While Curiosity is much different than the "Head On" pop/rock sound she established with her earlier material, her songwriting and vocal abilities are perfectly intact here. Unfortunately, the strong attempt to write and sing Madonna-esque songs does detract at times. But not all of the cuts suffer from this syndrome, and the singer proves herself more substantial in both areas than La M. A healthy supply of session singers (including Gwen Guthrie, Tawatha, Siedah Garrett, and Evan Rogers) doesn't hurt either. The standouts are the riveting R&B;/rock fusion "Sentimental Love"; the snazzy titlecut, especially thanks to its playful lyrics; and the light, Motown-esque soul groove of "Just Like You." On these cuts, Regina sounds her most spirited, and the arrangements are vibrant. Additionally, "Love Time" and "Bring Me All Your Love" do a good job of meshing pop/dance radio trends with jazzy R&B; shades. But the other single releases - "Beat of Love," "Head On," and "Say Goodbye" - only continued the sound-alike concept, and Regina became a one-hit act. She released one more single for Atlantic in 1988, "Extraordinary Love," as well as "Track You Down" on the small Centurion in 1990 (A "forthcoming" album entitled Best Kept Secret was promoted here, but if it in fact was released, it's quite a rarity.)

April is 15 - her 4th calf
April has never lost a calf nor had a stillborn
Oliver is 5 - his 1st calf
They have some of the largest indoor stalls in the nation (sq ft per animal). We take pride in our indoor housing and the level of enrichment and care to keep them happy and healthy. Unsafe weather and yard conditions may limit their yard access.
The calf will weigh around 150lb and will be about 6' tall at birth.
The front hooves will come out first followed by the snout.
Mom will naturally raise the calf, with weaning could take between 6-10 months, maybe longer. We will not rush this process – it is just a documented range of captive weaning.
Once the calf is born, we will have a contest to name it.
The keepers will go in with April, clean her pen, give her treats (but not Oliver). He is a bull - and a bull is a bull is a bull!
Giraffes are pregnant for 15 months on average
Upon naturally weaning, the calf will move on to another facility to start a breeding program there. We cannot retain offspring, as it would lead to incestuous mating and undermine the genetics of the program and species.
Those "things" on their heads are called ossicones.
Bulls (male giraffes) only really care about two things- fighting and the unmentionable....
Oliver may share space with April, but for short periods. Bulls take no part in rearing young.
They eat hay and specialized giraffe diet but love romaine lettuce and carrot treats.
April's water source, enrichment, and solo hay feeder are out of sight of the camera view.
This is Animal Adventure's first giraffe calf.

Baby Love is about a broken heart, and the basic concept of the video is one of a hysterical, broken hearted woman dancing the pain away. Even as I was writing the song, I knew where the video should be shot. I was really connected to the story of the school girls in Nigeria who where kidnapped. I couldn’t stop thinking about those girls, about how they used to have normal lives with dreams, style, and broken hearts too… I couldn't forget them. In the video I wanted to show that these girls are strong and ambitious, with hopes and dreams, broken hearts. Hadija is one of the main characters in the video, and she was so perfect. She had the perfect strong and ambitious character, and told me about her dreams to be an actress. It's her who I follow in the video in the desert. She uplifts me from my sorrows, directing me to her school girl posse who with their joyful beat and rhythm exemplify the essence of life and what love means - Petite Meller

Questions of Regina's startling vocal similarity to Madonna on her debut solo LP resonated through the industry upon its release and became the overriding factor in its short-lived popularity. The set's first single, "Baby Love," was the main culprit. Co-written by Regina with producer Stephen Bray and Mary Kessler, "Baby Love" was originally intended for Madonna - who did cut a demo of the song, but scrapped it. One can only speculate on the subsequent circumstances; but Bray, who co-wrote much of Madonna's wildly successful Like a Virgin, ended up producing the track for Regina, and it became a top-10 pop hit. While Regina here undeniably employs the chirpy tone and coquettish nuances Madonna had become known for, a few listens to Curiosity demonstrate who's the better vocalist of the two.
Contrary to popular belief at the time, Regina was not a start-up. She was actually on record before Madonna, fronting the band Regina Richards & Red Hot on an obscure A&M; album in 1981; the next year releasing the independent solo single, "Deep Dreaming." While Curiosity is much different than the "Head On" pop/rock sound she established with her earlier material, her songwriting and vocal abilities are perfectly intact here. Unfortunately, the strong attempt to write and sing Madonna-esque songs does detract at times. But not all of the cuts suffer from this syndrome, and the singer proves herself more substantial in both areas than La M. A healthy supply of session singers (including Gwen Guthrie, Tawatha, Siedah Garrett, and Evan Rogers) doesn't hurt either. The standouts are the riveting R&B;/rock fusion "Sentimental Love"; the snazzy titlecut, especially thanks to its playful lyrics; and the light, Motown-esque soul groove of "Just Like You." On these cuts, Regina sounds her most spirited, and the arrangements are vibrant. Additionally, "Love Time" and "Bring Me All Your Love" do a good job of meshing pop/dance radio trends with jazzy R&B; shades. But the other single releases - "Beat of Love," "Head On," and "Say Goodbye" - only continued the sound-alike concept, and Regina became a one-hit act. She released one more single for Atlantic in 1988, "Extraordinary Love," as well as "Track You Down" on the small Centurion in 1990 (A "forthcoming" album entitled Best Kept Secret was promoted here, but if it in fact was released, it's quite a rarity.)

April is 15 - her 4th calf
April has never lost a calf nor had a stillborn
Oliver is 5 - his 1st calf
They have some of the largest indoor stalls in the nation (sq ft per animal). We take pride in our indoor housing and the level of enrichment and care to keep them happy and healthy. Unsafe weather and yard conditions may limit their yard access.
The calf will weigh around 150lb and will be about 6' tall at birth.
The front hooves will come out first followed by the snout.
Mom will naturally raise the calf, with weaning could take between 6-10 months, maybe longer. We will not rush this process – it is just a documented range of captive weaning.
Once the calf is born, we will have a contest to name it.
The keepers will go in with April, clean her pen, give her treats (but not Oliver). He is a bull - and a bull is a bull is a bull!
Giraffes are pregnant for 15 months on average
Upon naturally weaning, the calf will move on to another facility to start a breeding program there. We cannot retain offspring, as it would lead to incestuous mating and undermine the genetics of the program and species.
Those "things" on their heads are called ossicones.
Bulls (male giraffes) only really care about two things- fighting and the unmentionable....
Oliver may share space with April, but for short periods. Bulls take no part in rearing young.
They eat hay and specialized giraffe diet but love romaine lettuce and carrot treats.
April's water source, enrichment, and solo hay feeder are out of sight of the camera view.
This is Animal Adventure's first giraffe calf.

Baby Love is about a broken heart, and the basic concept of the video is one of a hysterical, broken hearted woman dancing the pain away. Even as I was writing the song, I knew where the video should be shot. I was really connected to the story of the school girls in Nigeria who where kidnapped. I couldn’t stop thinking about those girls, about how they used to have normal lives with dreams, style, and broken hearts too… I couldn't forget them. In the video I wanted to show that these girls are strong and ambitious, with hopes and dreams, broken hearts. Hadija is one of the main characters in the video, and she was so perfect. She had the perfect strong and ambitious character, and told me about her dreams to be an actress. It's her who I follow in the video in the desert. She uplifts me from my sorrows, directing me to her school girl posse who with their joyful beat and rhythm exemplify the essence of life and what love means - Petite Meller

Questions of Regina's startling vocal similarity to Madonna on her debut solo LP resonated through the industry upon its release and became the overriding factor in its short-lived popularity. The set's first single, "Baby Love," was the main culprit. Co-written by Regina with producer Stephen Bray and Mary Kessler, "Baby Love" was originally intended for Madonna - who did cut a demo of the song, but scrapped it. One can only speculate on the subsequent circumstances; but Bray, who co-wrote much of Madonna's wildly successful Like a Virgin, ended up producing the track for Regina, and it became a top-10 pop hit. While Regina here undeniably employs the chirpy tone and coquettish nuances Madonna had become known for, a few listens to Curiosity demonstrate who's the better vocalist of the two.
Contrary to popular belief at the time, Regina was not a start-up. She was actually on record before Madonna, fronting the band Regina Richards & Red Hot on an obscure A&M; album in 1981; the next year releasing the independent solo single, "Deep Dreaming." While Curiosity is much different than the "Head On" pop/rock sound she established with her earlier material, her songwriting and vocal abilities are perfectly intact here. Unfortunately, the strong attempt to write and sing Madonna-esque songs does detract at times. But not all of the cuts suffer from this syndrome, and the singer proves herself more substantial in both areas than La M. A healthy supply of session singers (including Gwen Guthrie, Tawatha, Siedah Garrett, and Evan Rogers) doesn't hurt either. The standouts are the riveting R&B;/rock fusion "Sentimental Love"; the snazzy titlecut, especially thanks to its playful lyrics; and the light, Motown-esque soul groove of "Just Like You." On these cuts, Regina sounds her most spirited, and the arrangements are vibrant. Additionally, "Love Time" and "Bring Me All Your Love" do a good job of meshing pop/dance radio trends with jazzy R&B; shades. But the other single releases - "Beat of Love," "Head On," and "Say Goodbye" - only continued the sound-alike concept, and Regina became a one-hit act.
