The European migrant crisis or European refugee crisis began in 2015, when a rising number of refugees and migrants made the journey to the European Union (EU) to seek asylum, travelling across the Mediterranean Sea or through Southeast Europe. They came from areas such as Western and South Asia, Africa, and the Western Balkans. According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the top three nationalities of the over one million Mediterranean Sea arrivals in 2015 were Syrian (49%), Afghan (21%) and Iraqi (8%). Of the refugees and migrants arriving in Europe by sea in 2015, 58% were men, 17% women and 25% children. The phrases "European migrant crisis" and "European refugee crisis" became widely used in April 2015, when five boats carrying almost 2,000 migrants to Europe sank in the Mediterranean Sea, with a combined death toll estimated at more than 1,200 people.
A refugee, according to the Geneva Convention on Refugees is a person who is outside their country of citizenship because they have well-founded grounds for fear of persecution because of their race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group or political opinion, and is unable to obtain sanctuary from their home country or, owing to such fear, is unwilling to avail themselves of the protection of that country; or in the case of not having a nationality and being outside their country of former habitual residence as a result of such event, is unable or, owing to such fear, is unwilling to return to their country of former habitual residence. Such a person may be called an "asylum seeker" until considered with the status of "refugee" by the Contracting State where they formally make a claim for sanctuary or right of asylum.
In UN parlance, the definition of the word has been expanded to include descendants of refugees, in the case of two specific groups: Palestinian refugees and Sahrawi refugees. Currently, the UN does not consider refugee status to be hereditary for any other groups.
A crisis (from the Greek κρίσις - krisis; plural: "crises"; adjectival form: "critical") is any event that is, or is expected to lead to, an unstable and dangerous situation affecting an individual, group, community, or whole society. Crises are deemed to be negative changes in the security, economic, political, societal, or environmental affairs, especially when they occur abruptly, with little or no warning. More loosely, it is a term meaning "a testing time" or an "emergency event".
Crisis is the situation of a complex system (family, economy, society) when the system functions poorly, an immediate decision is necessary, but the causes of the dysfunction are not known.
Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, often abridged as Last Week Tonight, is an American late-night talk and news satire television program airing on Sundays on HBO in the United States and HBO Canada, and on Mondays (originally Tuesdays) on Sky Atlantic in the United Kingdom. The half-hour long show premiered on Sunday, April 27, 2014, and is hosted by comedian John Oliver. Last Week Tonight shares some similarities with Comedy Central's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, where Oliver was previously featured as a correspondent and fill-in host, as it takes a satirical look at news, politics and current events on a weekly basis.
Oliver has said that he has full creative freedom, including free rein to criticize corporations. His initial contract with HBO was for two years with an option for extension. In February 2015, it was announced that the show has been renewed for two additional seasons of 35 episodes each. Oliver and HBO programming president Michael Lombardo have discussed extending the show from half an hour to a full hour and airing more than once a week after Oliver "gets his feet under him".
World is a common name for the whole of human civilization, specifically human experience, history, or the human condition in general, worldwide, i.e. anywhere on Earth or pertaining to anywhere on Earth.
In a philosophical context it may refer to:
In a theological context, world usually refers to the material or the profane sphere, as opposed to the celestial, spiritual, transcendent or sacred. The "end of the world" refers to scenarios of the final end of human history, often in religious contexts.
World history is commonly understood as spanning the major geopolitical developments of about five millennia, from the first civilizations to the present.
World population is the sum of all human populations at any time; similarly, world economy is the sum of the economies of all societies (all countries), especially in the context of globalization. Terms like world championship, gross world product, world flags etc. also imply the sum or combination of all current-day sovereign states.

Fewer asylum seekers came to Germany in 2017 than in previous years. But in Italy and Greece, numbers of asylum seekers remain high. Syrians have for a century welcomed over a million refugees from Armenia, Palestine, Iraq and other countries around the region. Now, thanks to a civil war with no end in sight, they are on track to become the source of the world’s largest refugee population. As Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey and other neighbors strive to accommodate millions of Syrians, the risk of making them dependent on emergency aid and forming a “lost generation” remains. Ultimately, though, the safety of displaced Syrians rests with the whole international community. “There is no proper housing, no good life,” a Syrian refugee named Farouk told VICE News correspondent Milène Larsson in Berlin. “There is no good food, no work. Some people have to wait for a year to start learning German. People say it’s our fault, no.” When the migrant crisis began to overwhelm Europe last year, German Chancellor Angela Merkel stood out for her insistence on opening the country to newcomers. More than a million refugees moved in, and now Merkel’s popularity is waning. “Our rooms are very cramped,” Farouk said. “No money, nothing that we can build a life with. There is nothing that gives us hope for tomorrow.” This segment originally aired Nov. 14, 2016, on VICE News Tonight on HBO. More than 100,000 refugees and migrants have arrived in Greece in the first two months of this year. Many hoping to travel further across Europe are struggling to make that dream a reality. Now their journey has become more difficult. Macedonia, Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia have announced they will accept fewer than 600 migrants and refugees a day. Austria will take only 80 asylum seekers daily. So the burden on Greece weighs more heavily than ever before. The growing humanitarian crisis complicates an already fragile economic situation, as many Greeks struggle with years of austerity. Austria's refusal to accept more refugees is damaging relations with Greek government leaders. So, what's the impact on European relations? And can the EU help? Life After Syria is a new documentary in which Syrian refugees recount their stories of survival and explores the role that other nations must now bear in alleviating their suffering. More than 5 million registered refugees have fled Syria, while another 6.3 million Syrians remain displaced within the country, around 4.7 million of whom are in are in hard-to-reach or besieged areas. Presently 29 nations in the Middle East, Europe and elsewhere are sheltering Syrian refugees. Some smaller countries in the region, such as Kuwait, have made a big difference to relief efforts in affected areas. For example, the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, has helped raise more than $20bn for international humanitarian agencies to support Syrian refugees.

EU foreign ministers are seeking a joint global strategy on refugees and migration as thousands continue to make the perilous journey across the Mediterranean Sea. The ministers met in Brussels on Monday looking to build on existing cooperation with each other and the UN. More than 100,000 refugees and migrants have crossed the Mediterranean to Europe this year, many of them were smuggled from Libya. The European Union is introducing export restrictions on inflatable boats and outboard motors being sold in Libya to try and stem the flow. Italian leaders say they bear the brunt of the refugee burden and not enough is being done to help them. EU interior ministers agreed last month to step up deportations of failed asylum-seekers and help beef up the Libyan coastguard. The Italian gove...
The Media's attempt to hide the truth about the Syrian Refugees is pure deception. This video shows the truth behind what the Muslim Refugees are doing. They are going to countries and insisting that all adhere to their customs, religions, and practices. Barack Insane Osama had agreed to take in 10,000 refugees to America so we too, can suffer their rebellion to anything Westernized.

Support CaspianReport through Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/CaspianReport BAKU - In the last couple of months, the media headlines have been dominated by the presence of refugees in major European cities. The rush of refugees to Europe has caused considerable diplomatic and domestic turmoil. Refugees from Syria, followed by African and Balkan nations, form the vast majority of the people seeking asylum. In most cases, the refugees pay large sums of money for a chance to reach Europe, and in many cases it’s a life risking gamble. The massive arrival of asylum seekers in Europe is not something new. Migration in and out of Europe has taken shape throughout history. However, the current human flow into Europe is different from historic migrations, and such unprecedented events carry with...
