His father died of prostate cancer in 1982, at the age of 39, when Hall was 11 years old. In a 2004 interview,Hall stated: "Certainly, for a young boy, there's no good age, but I think I was on the cusp of a time in my life where I was starting to reach puberty, to relate to my father. To have him.... Something gets frozen. As you revisit it for the rest of your life, it's sort of this slow but hopefully sure crawling—out of that frozen moment."

Dexter is an American television crime drama mystery series that aired on Showtime from October 1, 2006, to September 22, 2013. Set in Miami, the series centers on Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall), a blood spatter pattern analyst for the fictional Miami Metro Police Department who also leads a secret life as a vigilante serial killer, hunting down murderers who have slipped through the cracks of the justice system. The show's first season was derived from the novel Darkly Dreaming Dexter (2004), the first of the Dexter series novels by Jeff Lindsay. It was adapted for television by screenwriter James Manos, Jr., who wrote the first episode. Subsequent seasons evolved independently of Lindsay's works.
In February 2008, reruns (edited down to a TV-14 rating) began to air on CBS, although the reruns on CBS ended after one run of the first season. The series has enjoyed mostly positive reviews throughout its run and popularity, including four straight Primetime Emmy nominations for Best Drama series in its first four seasons. Season 4 aired its season finale on December 13, 2009, to a record-breaking audience of 2.6 million viewers, making it the most-watched original series episode ever on Showtime at that time.
Dexter is an American television drama that was broadcast on the premium cable channel Showtime from October 1, 2006 to September 22, 2013. A total of 96 episodes of Dexter were broadcast over eight seasons. The series is based on characters created by Jeff Lindsay for his "Dexter" series of novels. The series follows the life of Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall), a Miami Metro Police Department blood pattern analyst with a double life. While investigating murders in the homicide division, Dexter hunts and kills murderers and criminals who have escaped the justice system. Although the first season is based on the events of Darkly Dreaming Dexter, the series' subsequent seasons do not follow the novels in the series. Departing from the narrative of Lindsay's second Dexter novel Dearly Devoted Dexter, the show's writer Daniel Cerone said that the writers "didn't see the opportunity in the second book" to adapt it.
The series has received generally favorable reviews from critics, while the second season received universal acclaim. The pilot episode, which aired in the USA on October 1, 2006, attracted more than a million viewers, giving Showtime its highest series ratings in nearly two years. Encouraged by its critical success and high ratings, CBS began broadcasting Dexter for free-to-air on February 17, 2008, thus making Dexter the first program in two decades to air on a national broadcast network after being shown on a premium cable channel. Eight seasons comprising twelve episodes each have been broadcast in the United States and abroad. All eight seasons have been released on DVD and on Blu-ray; box sets containing the first three seasons were released on August 18, 2009, on both DVD and Blu-ray.

Plot: "Quigley's Village" is a kids' show which employs both live actors and puppets. Mr. Quigley is the leader of the town, with Trundle, a toucan, living in a cage on Quigley's front porch. Other neighborhood kids include Bubba, a chimp; Danny Lion and his younger sister, Lemon (so named because of her pastel yellow-colored fur); Spike, a girl porcupine who talks with a bit of a Brooklyn accent; Milty, a moose; and Alex, a fox. The humans who work and live in the village besides Mr. Quigley include Dexter, a handyman; Molly, the letter carrier; and Dr. Caramore, the local physician who is always glad to help the kids whenever they're ill. Each episode centered around a particular life lesson; for example, hard work and practice (Spike wanted to tap dance in the village's talent show, but she never practiced and froze up on stage), avoiding temptation (Bubba's mother made three banana cream pies for the village's bake sale, but ate them after his mother told him not to), overcoming fear (Lemon was frightened when Dr. Caramore told her she had to give Lemon a shot for her sore throat, but Lemon didn't feel the shot), and exercising patience (Danny and Bubba wanted to make popcorn in Mr. Quigley's popcorn popping machine, but Mr. Quigley told them to wait until he got the top half of the popper. Danny and Bubba went ahead anyway and popcorn flew all over the playground).

Hate the last season of "Dexter"? Furious over the final episode? Livid over Deb's ending? Yeah, me too. So here's how it should have ended...(Watch ALL the way to the end of you'll miss something!) This is not a review or a discussion, but rather a re-cut of the 8th season into the storyline I would have preferred. I was of course limited to footage that actually exists, so it's not as full on the details as I wish I could provide, but I hope it offers something for "Dexter" fans (in particular, Debra fans) to use to erase the actual finale from their minds. Clips from: "Dexter" Music: "What Are You," "The Link," "I Enjoy Killing," "Argentina," "Can't Be Saved," "Dex Kills Spelz," "About Lumen," "He's Gone," "Special," "Hannah Talks," "Deborah Loves Rudy," "Voodoo Jailtime," "Wink," "No...

I realized this project for the "Animation" course at my university. It's an animated comic inspired by the tv-series "Dexter". Although I have to admit that it has its similarities to "The Early Cuts" of Dexter, by the time I created it, I didn't know such thing existed. Maybe because it didn't exist back then...anyways comments are as always much appreciated. I took the sound at the beginning from the first episode of the second season of Dexter. The music track is the Song "Hide your Tears" from the "Dexter OST". So Showtime has all the rights on the sound. Programs used: Adobe After Effects, Photoshop

I can't stand endless repetition in my life. This is a "break" from the norm on a show that repeats itself over and over. Almost every episode he kills someone. Every season he goes through a problem trying to get a main kill! The introduction is his monotonous morning routine, that gets played before every episode. I decided to change it up a bit. This is my first attempt at glitch/databending video. I wanted to leave the video so it was still recognizable while avoiding the patterned routine that already exists with some randomized changes.
This is how the scene was supposed to be
I waste a lot of my time watching TV and so this was what inspired my concept for my Final Major Project. I chose to cut down the first episode of Dexter as I had just finished watching the series but also, it had a link of the theme time similar to the concept of my project. If you have seen the series, you will understand the time management skills Dexter goes through each season. Whether it is right for him to spend his time doing what he does or if that is a "waste of tie" to the other aspects of his life; work, family etc. If you have not seen it, I highly recommend watching it. This is my first real attempt at creating a short piece of animation film. There were a lot of problems in the making and a lot of what I intended didn't go to plan, for example, in this short film, I underst...

“For Season 2 we’ve re-worked our formula. Continuing a trend of well-documented, familiar trails was not the road we wanted to re-travel. We wanted to focus on areas widely renowned but otherwise undocumented. Places that offer something more than just great riding. To get creative we needed new settings that would offer up new opportunities, and get Dexter outside his downhill oriented comfort zone.” This season was all about taking a bigger footstep. To reach farther out into the northwest where we reside. We want to bring an even better experience to our viewers. Episode 1 of season 2 takes things up a notch. With a larger budget, and more time to explore; we find ourselves in Hood River, Oregon. Day 1, we decided to explore and get some static shots of the “old town”. Immediately ...

From the TV-series 'Dexter.' Aired date: 10.21.2012. Episode 4: "Run." Season 7. Dexter Morgan takes revenge on psychopathic juicer/part-time minotaur, Ray Speltzer, for trying to kill him and his sister. Speltzer awakens on Dexter's table and Dexter proceeds to go bonkers, laughingly mocking and taunting his prey before plunging a wooden stake through his heart and burning his body to ashes. Simply priceless.

''What which f*ck?'' -- Dexter Morgan. The poor serial killer just doesn't know how to act around normal people. This montage shows Dexter's funniest, dumbest and most awkward moments from all of the Showtime show's eight seasons.

Resurrecting an Art Form. TV got good again. Six Feet Under helped redefine what a TV show could be. We are proud to be a part of that ambition - to just make it better. The TV title sequence is a branding endeavor and a legitimate art form. It is the sole, consistent, and iconic moment that carries through a show’s lifespan and beyond. It’s what you remember most. DK is the most Emmy-nominated firm in the category. We seek assignments that tell a separate, parallel story. These are little art films really, that find their own voice, all while arming audiences with each show’s unique psychology and worldview. Client: Showtime

Dexter was this little town my family used to live in
All my kin lived real close and everyone had an opinion
Grandma and gramps lived up the street, right next to the walnut tree
Grandpa died of Parkinsons in 1983
Riding on the gocart at my next door neighbor's house
I couldn't tell the brake peddle from the cavities in his mouth
Ran right over his dog and cat as the wheels left the ground
I didn't know a tree could make such a resonating sound
Trips in the ambulance like rides at the county fair
Needles, shots, and setting bones anyone can bare
Hospitals smell real good, and HBO is free
Dexter town is simple people, just like you and me
Thanksgiving was a Roosters house on a cold holiday
I was voting turkey, but we had chicken anyway
Never thought that I'd get sick but the bird had its reasoning
Nothing I'd say quite like "Good ol' salmanella poisoning"
Trips in the ambulance like rides at the county fair
Needles, shots, and setting bones anyone can bare
Hospitals smell real good, and HBO is free
Dexter town is simple people, just like you and me
The Jenkins were some strange folks who lived on down the street
Mobile homes and pickup trucks, they were all some kind of freaks
Jimmy, he could fix a car but he couldn't read a book
High school taught him noth'n that an old 350 V-8 wouldn't
Trips in the ambulance like rides at the county fair
Needles, shots, and setting bones anyone can bare
Hospitals smell real good, and HBO is free
