Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV-1 and HSV-2)
We are probably familiar with herpes as a sexually transmitted disease, but we want to know as much as we can about this virus and the things it can do. What is the difference between HSV-1 and HSV-2? How does viral transmission work? Let's get into the details.

What's the Difference Between HSV-1 and HSV-2 (Explained in 2 minutes)
What is the difference between Oral Herpes (HSV-1) and Genital Herpes (HSV-2)?
In this 2 minute video, we will explain the differences so you can understand each.
Now you can take control of cold sore outbreaks.
The Luminance RED gives you a safe, highly effective LED-LLLT (Light Emitting Diode, Low-Level Laser Therapy also known as photobiomodulation) treatment that can shorten healing time (by roughly half), immediately reduce pain and lower the frequency of outbreaks.
It has been proven that Low Level Laser Therapy, or LLLT is incredibly effective in treating cold sores.
However, it wasn’t available to most people as the only way to produce the specific light wavelength and high power output was by using a laser.
The problem with using lasers is they can cost thousands of dollars...

HSV-1 Infection Induces Necroptosis
A mouse fibroblast cell line was incubated with propidium iodide (PI, red), infected with GFP-tagged HSV-1, and then monitored by time-lapse fluorescence microscopy. After HSV-1 infection, the GFP intensity increased before plasma membrane rupture, indicating that viral protein accumulation is involved in cell death. HSV Diagnosis for New Nurse Practitioners
So often in primary care, patients come in asking for testing for herpes, whether they have symptoms or not. Sometimes it’s because they “want to be tested for everything,” or are concerned about an exposure from a partner. As a new nurse practitioner, I wasn’t always confident about the best approach.
In this week’s video, I’m covering:
✅ When to consider HSV, and the unlikely ways it can present
✅ What the difference between primary, non-primary initial and recurrent infections are, and what it means for the patient
✅ The top differential diagnoses to consider
✅ How to test for HSV, what the gold standard tests are and what NOT to use

Is Genital Herpes HSV1 in latent phase curable Is there any vaccination for it? - Dr. Teena S Thomas
HSV 1 or Herpes Simplex Virus 1 infection is usually a contagious disease. Usually the type 1 is oral herpes. So it lands up into oral sores and blisters in and around the mouth and on the face and can extend upto the eye too. But it is usually the oral herpes. But usually during the cold sore present with an infected oral cold sore. If you go for oral sex, you can land up into genital herpes with HSV1. Herpes Simplex Virus is non-curable. It really doesn’t matter what type you have nor does it matter where you have it. Yes there's a HUGE stigma about having geniatl herpes but at the end of the day it’s herpes.

The problem with using lasers is they can cost thousands of dollars and must be operated by trained medical staff.
Until Now - LED (light-emitting diode) technology has recently advanced and now LED’s are able to produce the exact same light as what was previously only possible with lasers.
Luminance Medical has leveraged this technology to create the Luminance RED.

There is no cure for the virus. It stays inside your body. It sticks into the trigeminal nerve in the body and stays latent there. During the times of any other infection, decreased immunity in the body or any persistent fever or any other drugs involved or pregnancies. The viral infections at that point, herpes can flare up and can come back with sores and blisters. So they can becomes actively infected at any point of time in their lifetime when their immunity is less. But at other points of time the virus just lies down latent in the nerves of the human being, but there is no cure to it and you cannot eradicate it once you have got it in your body and there is no vaccination against HSV.
