Best. Relationship. Ever. I will never change my mind on this, nothing will ever compare, it's not possible to create a better relation than theirs. It just can't exist. LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT JOHN WATSON AND SHERLOCK HOLMES. God i love them so much. So so soooo much. I don't know where to begin i have a thousand things to say about them. Let's begin with sherlock's feelings for john. Sherlock Holmes is not a psychopath or a sociopath, he can FEEL things but has decided long ago (since redbeard's death ; ____ ;) that emotions were too hurtful and useless, he's convinced himself that 'sentiment' is a restraint -- and rightfully so. He values intelligence and reason above all things, he relies on his brilliant brain more than his feelings. For years, decades even, he's not given a single fuck about what people think of him, he never wanted to be loved or even cared for. Until john watson. Because of him, Sherlock learned despite himself to care again. I think that a great brain cannot exist without a great heart. Sherlock is a genius and also capable of very intense feelings. it's always been there, hidden. John was a trigger. Sherlock didn't become 'human' because of him, he's always been, but with John the feelings are too strong to not take the first place. What he feels for John, no matter what it is, is bigger than the rest. Work, decuction, science, whatever, it can't compete with his love for John. THAT'S SHERLOCK HOLMES WE'RE TALKING ABOUT. That's how much he cares about john. He sacrificed his career, his LIFE, to ensure John's happiness. It reminds me of House who also sacrificed everything for Wilson. For 5 little months with Wilson, because all the rest is worth nothing without Wilson. NO I CAN'T HAVE HILSON FEELS RN THIS IS TOO MUCH FOR MY HEART. Ahem. Anyway, season 3 was about Sherlock's'conscious' realisation that John is his everything. We saw less of John's feelings for Sherlock this season. BUT THEY'RE STILL HERE. They were more obvious in season 2 because well, the season was going to end with Sherlock's death, we had to see how much he mattered to John so our hearts could be ripped off our chests.  I know that some people are frustrated by the lack of 'reciprocity' this season. Sherlock used to be John's everthing, because he was alone before. Now he's met Mary and he loves her of a true romantic love (and they're adorable and i love them a lot ok), he's not lonely anymore. He doesn't depend on Sherlock only. He's more mature. Sherlock is still a child, as we were reminded a lot this season, but John is an adult. His character's growth is pretty huge. Losing Sherlock and two years of depression (because that's what happened) have changed him. John is a normal person you know, i'm not saying that his feelings are less intense than Sherlock's, but he deals with them in a much more rationnal and...normal way. He rebuilt himself when Sherlock was away, and learned to live a more balanced life. He loves Sherlock just as much as Sherlock loves him. But he's learned the hard way that being addicted to one person can destroy you. I have my own interpretation as to why Sherlock isn't in John's 'pressure points'. Well first storytelling-wise it was not necessary to put sherlock in the list. Also remember when Sherlock said that he was 'known to be indestructible'. To John, Sherlock came back from the dead. Look how he reacted to sherlock being shot, he was obviously worried but i bet a part of his mind was saying ' that's ok, he can't die, Sherlock Holmes doesn't die'. I believe that if Moffat and Gatiss are good at their job -- which they are -- John's behaviour towards sherlock is going to change again. It won't stay that... peaceful, that 'relaxed'. Anyway. I think that's all. Well no it's not because i could probably write a novel about Holmes and Watson but for now that will be all. Now i'm off to watch episode 3 again (i LOVED IT, brilliant writing from Moffat, now i know why DW was not so good this year, he put everything he had in Sherlock) and cry because this season has barely began that it's already over. T___T i'd like to make a video about sherlock alone (my bb) and maybe the whole 'pressure point' thing. but i don't know where i'll find the time. It's weird to be back at school after two years doing nothing.
