Anthropology is the study of humanity. Its main subdivisions are social and cultural anthropology, which describes the workings of societies around the world, linguistic anthropology, which investigates the influence of language in social life, and biological or physical anthropology, which concerns long-term development of the human organism. Archaeology, which studies past human cultures through investigation of physical evidence, is thought of as a branch of anthropology in the United States, although in Europe, it is viewed as a discipline in its own right, or grouped under related disciplines such as history.
The abstract noun anthropology is first attested in reference to history. Its present use first appeared in Renaissance Germany in the works of Magnus Hundt and Otto Casmann. Their New Latin anthropologia derived from the combining forms of the Greek words ánthrōpos (ἄνθρωπος, "human") and lógos (λόγος, "study"). (Its adjectival form appeared in the works of Aristotle.) It began to be used in English, possibly via French anthropologie, by the early 18th century.

PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION *Awkward Marina I realized the mistake a little too late. I looked up the song after it was performed and I just couldn't stop listening to it. When I realized that no one else had made a typography of it yet, I decided that I would have to be the one to do it (because it definitely needed to be done). Even though it doesn't look as good as some of the other typographies I see on YouTube, I'm still pretty proud of myself. I hope you guys e...
