Il giocatore d’ azzardo nonchè proprietario di una bisca Max (interpretato da un Chard Hayward che si sforza ma non ce la può fare), ha un secondo lavoro particolare: il killer a pagamento (non si sa perchè). Una ricca signora commissiona l’ omicidio del marito fradifrago e della sua amante, un lavoro pulito ma Max viene fregato da qualcuno che lo fotografa durante il delitto. Durante un’ uscita con il suo amicone Jeff (Geoffrey Sandwith), a Max viene recapitata una busta contenente le foto del doppio omicidio eseguito su commissione. La vita di Max diventa un incubo perchè il ricattatore non si fa mai vivo se non tramite telefonate mute nel cuore della notte. A complicare le cose ci si mette un ispettore che lo accusa dell’ omicidio della moglie e della suocera (questa parte non è molto chiara). Ma le complicazioni non si fermano perchè uno spietato boss di Las Vegas (Robert Zdar) vuole il pizzo per la sua bisca. Max è sempre più paranoico e gli unici suoi contatti umani sembrano essere l’amico Jeff e la sua compagnia Gloria (Cynthia Killion) a cui promette una romantica fuga d’amore. Una notte giunge la fatidica telefonata del riscatto e Max, come in preda ad una follia liberatrice, aggiusta i conti con i presunti ricattatori, ma il destino beffardo è sempre in agguato.
Recensione:
The Killing Game è il quinto film diretto dal produttore / regista di low budget movies Joseph Merhi, una vera leggenda in campo di cinema trash. Abbiamo visto una sorta di evoluzione registica dai suoi primi lavori Mayhem – Disperata Ricerca, Strade Violente ed Epitaph, tuttavia questo film non è affatto graziato da una inutile lentezza narcotica ed enormi buchi di sceneggiatura quali le inspiegabili motivazioni che spingono i personaggi a portare avanti le loro scelte. La scarsezza di talento del regista siriano emerge nel cuore stesso del film quando si vuole rappresentare una discesa psicologica verso l’ inferno da parte del protagonista ma l’ attore e la tecnica registica di Merhi sono così scarsi da risultare una combo letale per lo spettatore, incredulo davanti alla noncuranza totale che si prova per la sorte del biscazziere killer. Violenza e sesso sono solamente suggeriti e questo crea una grossa delusione perché se c’è forse una cosa a cui Merhi riesce bene sono le sparatorie e le morti bislacche che ci fanno ridere a crepapelle. Ad ogni modo qualcosa di salvabile c’è perché da quando compare Robert Zdar ecco che il film cerca di risalire la china anche se ormai fuori tempo massimo. Ci consola il fatto che il suo lavoro successivo, Omicidi A Hollywood sia già un ritorno alle origini. Mehri preso da manie di grandezza si auto cita proiettando da un televisore sullo sfondo una sequenza di Mayhem – Disperata Ricerca senza rendersi conto che la maggior parte degli spettatori saranno troppo intorpiditi per notarla.

A gang of bank robbers, led by the ultra-violent Snake Underwood, pull off a daring mid-day heist that leaves dozens of burning police cars and scores of innocent victims in its wake. Heading the investigation into the gang is the equally violent detective Kurt Bellmore, along with his partner Doc Kane. Though the pair manage to apprehend Underwood fairly quickly, they then find themselves up against an even greater adversary: the corrupt cops who are on Underwoods payroll, and a revolving-door legal system that just doesnt care. Joseph Merhi
Joseph Toufik Merhi (born 23 October 1953), is an independent film director and producer.
In 1986, Mehri founded the production company City Lights with producer Ronald L. Gilchrist for his first movie Hollywood in Trouble. Around 1989 after splitting from producer Ronald Gilchrist's City Lights Mehri started PM Entertainment along with fellow director Richard Pepin (the PM Entertainment name comes from surnames Pepin-Mehri). Soon George Shamieh joined as the third partner. The company was sold to The Harvey Entertainment Group in 2000 and closed soon after. In 2003 the movie library was sold to Echo Bridge Home Entertainment. PM Entertainment's library consisted of over 150 films and 2 TV series.
Before entering the movie industry, Merhi was the owner of several pizzerias located in the Las Vegas, Nevada area.
So far, he has directed a total of 32 movies, and produced more than 100.
His last directed movie was Executive Target (1997). After that, he decided to leave the director chair and slowly moved on as a producer/executive producer of straight-to-DVD movies, until he returned to direct Oranges (2008) ten years after his last effort.

Joseph
"Joseph" is a masculine given name originating from Hebrew, recorded in the Hebrew Bible, as יוֹסֵף, Standard Hebrew Yossef, Tiberian Hebrew and Aramaic Yôsēp̄. In Arabic, including in the Qur'an, the name is spelled يوسف or Yūsuf. The name can be translated from Hebrew יהוה להוסיף YHWH Lhosif as signifying "JEHOVAH will increase/add".
In the Old Testament, Joseph is Jacob's eleventh son and Rachel's first (Yossef ben-Yaakov in the Jewish Bible). In the New Testament, Joseph is the husband of Mary, the mother of Jesus. In the New Testament there is another Joseph as well, Joseph of Arimathea, a secret disciple of Jesus who supplied the tomb in which Jesus was buried.
The form "Joseph" is used mostly in English, French and German-speaking countries. Maximum Force
Maximum Force is a light gun shooter arcade game developed by Mesa Logic for Atari Games in 1997. In 1998, Atari Games re-released the game as part of one machine called Area 51/Maximum Force Duo that also included Area 51, and later ported the game to both the Sony PlayStation and Sega Saturn game consoles.
Like its predecessor Area 51, Maximum Force is notable for its use of digitized video stored on an on-board hard disk, and the bizarrely contrasting unrealistic gibs into which every enemy blows apart when shot, in exactly the same way. While enemies, innocents, and explosions are 2D digitized video sprites, the levels and vehicles are pre-rendered in 3D.
Gameplay
The player(s) play the role of an unnamed counter-terrorist agent who engages in three major combat zones. These areas are under siege by terrorists and the player must kill the terrorists before they take aim and fire at the player character. Shooting hostages or getting shot by terrorists causes the player to lose lives. After four hits are taken, the player must refill their credits or the game is over. Players can have a maximum of seven lives in the home versions.

Il giocatore d’ azzardo nonchè proprietario di una bisca Max (interpretato da un Chard Hayward che si sforza ma non ce la può fare), ha un secondo lavoro particolare: il killer a pagamento (non si sa perchè). Una ricca signora commissiona l’ omicidio del marito fradifrago e della sua amante, un lavoro pulito ma Max viene fregato da qualcuno che lo fotografa durante il delitto. Durante un’ uscita con il suo amicone Jeff (Geoffrey Sandwith), a Max viene recapitata una busta contenente le foto del doppio omicidio eseguito su commissione. La vita di Max diventa un incubo perchè il ricattatore non si fa mai vivo se non tramite telefonate mute nel cuore della notte. A complicare le cose ci si mette un ispettore che lo accusa dell’ omicidio della moglie e della suocera (questa parte non è molto chiara). Ma le complicazioni non si fermano perchè uno spietato boss di Las Vegas (Robert Zdar) vuole il pizzo per la sua bisca. Max è sempre più paranoico e gli unici suoi contatti umani sembrano essere l’amico Jeff e la sua compagnia Gloria (Cynthia Killion) a cui promette una romantica fuga d’amore. Una notte giunge la fatidica telefonata del riscatto e Max, come in preda ad una follia liberatrice, aggiusta i conti con i presunti ricattatori, ma il destino beffardo è sempre in agguato.
Recensione:
The Killing Game è il quinto film diretto dal produttore / regista di low budget movies Joseph Merhi, una vera leggenda in campo di cinema trash. Abbiamo visto una sorta di evoluzione registica dai suoi primi lavori Mayhem – Disperata Ricerca, Strade Violente ed Epitaph, tuttavia questo film non è affatto graziato da una inutile lentezza narcotica ed enormi buchi di sceneggiatura quali le inspiegabili motivazioni che spingono i personaggi a portare avanti le loro scelte. La scarsezza di talento del regista siriano emerge nel cuore stesso del film quando si vuole rappresentare una discesa psicologica verso l’ inferno da parte del protagonista ma l’ attore e la tecnica registica di Merhi sono così scarsi da risultare una combo letale per lo spettatore, incredulo davanti alla noncuranza totale che si prova per la sorte del biscazziere killer. Violenza e sesso sono solamente suggeriti e questo crea una grossa delusione perché se c’è forse una cosa a cui Merhi riesce bene sono le sparatorie e le morti bislacche che ci fanno ridere a crepapelle. Ad ogni modo qualcosa di salvabile c’è perché da quando compare Robert Zdar ecco che il film cerca di risalire la china anche se ormai fuori tempo massimo. Ci consola il fatto che il suo lavoro successivo, Omicidi A Hollywood sia già un ritorno alle origini. Mehri preso da manie di grandezza si auto cita proiettando da un televisore sullo sfondo una sequenza di Mayhem – Disperata Ricerca senza rendersi conto che la maggior parte degli spettatori saranno troppo intorpiditi per notarla.

La signora Forrest (Delores Nascar), una baldracca alcolizzata e psicopatica, non si fa scrupoli a commettere omicidi senza apparente motivo, per poi costringere il marito a seppellire i corpi, mettendo la famiglia in una condizione di continua tensione e mestizia. Una ricca signora commissiona l’ omicidio del marito fradifrago e della sua amante, un lavoro pulito ma Max viene fregato da qualcuno che lo fotografa durante il delitto. Durante un’ uscita con il suo amicone Jeff (Geoffrey Sandwith), a Max viene recapitata una busta contenente le foto del doppio omicidio eseguito su commissione. La vita di Max diventa un incubo perchè il ricattatore non si fa mai vivo se non tramite telefonate mute nel cuore della notte. A complicare le cose ci si mette un ispettore che lo accusa dell’ omicidio della moglie e della suocera (questa parte non è molto chiara). Ma le complicazioni non si fermano perchè uno spietato boss di Las Vegas (Robert Zdar) vuole il pizzo per la sua bisca. Max è sempre più paranoico e gli unici suoi contatti umani sembrano essere l’amico Jeff e la sua compagnia Gloria (Cynthia Killion) a cui promette una romantica fuga d’amore. Una notte giunge la fatidica telefonata del riscatto e Max, come in preda ad una follia liberatrice, aggiusta i conti con i presunti ricattatori, ma il destino beffardo è sempre in agguato.
Recensione:
The Killing Game è il quinto film diretto dal produttore / regista di low budget movies Joseph Merhi, una vera leggenda in campo di cinema trash. Abbiamo visto una sorta di evoluzione registica dai suoi primi lavori Mayhem – Disperata Ricerca, Strade Violente ed Epitaph, tuttavia questo film non è affatto graziato da una inutile lentezza narcotica ed enormi buchi di sceneggiatura quali le inspiegabili motivazioni che spingono i personaggi a portare avanti le loro scelte. La scarsezza di talento del regista siriano emerge nel cuore stesso del film quando si vuole rappresentare una discesa psicologica verso l’ inferno da parte del protagonista ma l’ attore e la tecnica registica di Merhi sono così scarsi da risultare una combo letale per lo spettatore, incredulo davanti alla noncuranza totale che si prova per la sorte del biscazziere killer. Violenza e sesso sono solamente suggeriti e questo crea una grossa delusione perché se c’è forse una cosa a cui Merhi riesce bene sono le sparatorie e le morti bislacche che ci fanno ridere a crepapelle. Ad ogni modo qualcosa di salvabile c’è perché da quando compare Robert Zdar ecco che il film cerca di risalire la china anche se ormai fuori tempo massimo. Ci consola il fatto che il suo lavoro successivo, Omicidi A Hollywood sia già un ritorno alle origini. Mehri preso da manie di grandezza si auto cita proiettando da un televisore sullo sfondo una sequenza di Mayhem – Disperata Ricerca senza rendersi conto che la maggior parte degli spettatori saranno troppo intorpiditi per notarla.

CINEMA ZOO PRESENTA: PROGETTO FUTURAMA
La famiglia Forrest sembra essere una famigliola normale. Composta da coniugi, figlia sedicenne e nonna a carico, pare abbia invece qualcosa da nascondere. La signora Forrest (Delores Nascar), una baldracca alcolizzata e psicopatica, non si fa scrupoli a commettere omicidi senza apparente motivo, per poi costringere il marito a seppellire i corpi, mettendo la famiglia in una condizione di continua tensione e mestizia.
Recensione:
Joseph Merhi è quel regista che toglie la gioia di vivere, è quel regista che ti fa mummificare piano piano e, alla fine del film, di te non rimane che un mucchietto di stracci e polvere. Tralasciando il fatto che questo film con il titolo non abbia nulla a che fare, ci troviamo davanti ad una di quelle prove a cui ogni neofita del cinema di genere si dovrebbe sottoporre per temprare le proprie ossa e crearsi una certa sicurezza e tempra. Neanche il compianto Bruno Mattei (che io adoro e nessuno me lo tocchi) avrebbe potuto girare una porcata del genere, almeno lui ci avrebbe messo un paio di tette e la palpebra si sarebbe potuta risollevare per qualche secondo, di tanto in tanto. Qui no. Qui il film comincia in tono medio basso, per poi abbassare e sprofondare in mestizia depressiva. Quando c’è il primo omicidio, alleluia, succede qualcosa. Poi da lì di nuovo baratro, una discesa verso la disintegrazione dei genitali tra i problemi adolescenziali della figlia, e quelli di alcolismo della madre.
La messinscena, inutile dirlo, è vergognosa e il 90% delle riprese sono statiche e prive di qualsiasi fantasia, dando così una sensazioni di puntata-di-telefilm-lunga-quanto-un-film. Il sadismo del signor Merhi non si limita ad una regia indegna, ma raggiunge un livello superiore privandoci di qualsiasi risvolto splatter giacchè il sangue è centellinato al centilitro. Dopo la visione l’ iscrizione al sert sarà scontata e spontanea.

Scott (Val Kilmer) meets ambitious recruit Curtis (Derek Luke) and knife-fighting instructor Jackie Black (Tia Texada) during a training exercise.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
David Mamet writes and directs the political thriller Spartan. Respected Secret Service agent Robert Scott (Val Kilmer) is assigned to the kidnapping case of Laura Newton (Kristen Bell), the missing daughter of a high-ranking political figure. Scott is teamed up with rookie Curtis (Derek Luke). Aided by the FBI and the CIA, the team discovers a human trafficking operation that may lead to Laura's kidnappers. Meanwhile, political operative Stoddard (William H. Macy) refuses to cooperate with the rescue mission. Scott and Curtis are forced to quit the investigation when the media reports Laura's death. Believing her to be alive, Curtis is motivated to start up a dangerous unofficial investigation of his own. Spartan premiered at the Bangkok International Film Festival in 2004.

A gang of bank robbers, led by the ultra-violent Snake Underwood, pull off a daring mid-day heist that leaves dozens of burning police cars and scores of innocent victims in its wake. Heading the investigation into the gang is the equally violent detective Kurt Bellmore, along with his partner Doc Kane. Though the pair manage to apprehend Underwood fairly quickly, they then find themselves up against an even greater adversary: the corrupt cops who are on Underwoods payroll, and a revolving-door legal system that just doesnt care. If the two want to clear the streets of Snake and his gang, going by the book just isnt going to be enough.

Una ricca signora commissiona l’ omicidio del marito fradifrago e della sua amante, un lavoro pulito ma Max viene fregato da qualcuno che lo fotografa durante il delitto. Durante un’ uscita con il suo amicone Jeff (Geoffrey Sandwith), a Max viene recapitata una busta contenente le foto del doppio omicidio eseguito su commissione. La vita di Max diventa un incubo perchè il ricattatore non si fa mai vivo se non tramite telefonate mute nel cuore della notte. A complicare le cose ci si mette un ispettore che lo accusa dell’ omicidio della moglie e della suocera (questa parte non è molto chiara). Ma le complicazioni non si fermano perchè uno spietato boss di Las Vegas (Robert Zdar) vuole il pizzo per la sua bisca. Max è sempre più paranoico e gli unici suoi contatti umani sembrano essere l’amico Jeff e la sua compagnia Gloria (Cynthia Killion) a cui promette una romantica fuga d’amore. Una notte giunge la fatidica telefonata del riscatto e Max, come in preda ad una follia liberatrice, aggiusta i conti con i presunti ricattatori, ma il destino beffardo è sempre in agguato.
Recensione:
The Killing Game è il quinto film diretto dal produttore / regista di low budget movies Joseph Merhi, una vera leggenda in campo di cinema trash. Abbiamo visto una sorta di evoluzione registica dai suoi primi lavori Mayhem – Disperata Ricerca, Strade Violente ed Epitaph, tuttavia questo film non è affatto graziato da una inutile lentezza narcotica ed enormi buchi di sceneggiatura quali le inspiegabili motivazioni che spingono i personaggi a portare avanti le loro scelte. La scarsezza di talento del regista siriano emerge nel cuore stesso del film quando si vuole rappresentare una discesa psicologica verso l’ inferno da parte del protagonista ma l’ attore e la tecnica registica di Merhi sono così scarsi da risultare una combo letale per lo spettatore, incredulo davanti alla noncuranza totale che si prova per la sorte del biscazziere killer. Violenza e sesso sono solamente suggeriti e questo crea una grossa delusione perché se c’è forse una cosa a cui Merhi riesce bene sono le sparatorie e le morti bislacche che ci fanno ridere a crepapelle. Ad ogni modo qualcosa di salvabile c’è perché da quando compare Robert Zdar ecco che il film cerca di risalire la china anche se ormai fuori tempo massimo. Ci consola il fatto che il suo lavoro successivo, Omicidi A Hollywood sia già un ritorno alle origini. Mehri preso da manie di grandezza si auto cita proiettando da un televisore sullo sfondo una sequenza di Mayhem – Disperata Ricerca senza rendersi conto che la maggior parte degli spettatori saranno troppo intorpiditi per notarla.

CINEMA ZOO PRESENTA: PROGETTO FUTURAMA La famiglia Forrest sembra essere una famigliola normale. Composta da coniugi, figlia sedicenne e nonna a carico, pare abbia invece qualcosa da nascondere. La signora Forrest (Delores Nascar), una baldracca alcolizzata e psicopatica, non si fa scrupoli a commettere omicidi senza apparente motivo, per poi costringere il marito a seppellire i corpi, mettendo la famiglia in una condizione di continua tensione e mestizia. Il giocatore d’ azzardo nonchè proprietario di una bisca Max (interpretato da un Chard Hayward che si sforza ma non ce la può fare), ha un secondo lavoro particolare: il killer a pagamento (non si sa perchè). Una ricca signora commissiona l’ omicidio del marito fradifrago e della sua amante, un lavoro pulito ma Max viene fregato da qualcuno che lo fotografa durante il delitto. Durante un’ uscita con il suo amicone Jeff (Geoffrey Sandwith), a Max viene recapitata una busta contenente le foto del doppio omicidio eseguito su commissione. La vita di Max diventa un incubo perchè il ricattatore non si fa mai vivo se non tramite telefonate mute nel cuore della notte. A complicare le cose ci si mette un ispettore che lo accusa dell’ omicidio della moglie e della suocera (questa parte non è molto chiara). Ma le complicazioni non si fermano perchè uno spietato boss di Las Vegas (Robert Zdar) vuole il pizzo per la sua bisca. Max è sempre più paranoico e gli unici suoi contatti umani sembrano essere l’amico Jeff e la sua compagnia Gloria (Cynthia Killion) a cui promette una romantica fuga d’amore. Una notte giunge la fatidica telefonata del riscatto e Max, come in preda ad una follia liberatrice, aggiusta i conti con i presunti ricattatori, ma il destino beffardo è sempre in agguato.
Recensione:
The Killing Game è il quinto film diretto dal produttore / regista di low budget movies Joseph Merhi, una vera leggenda in campo di cinema trash. Abbiamo visto una sorta di evoluzione registica dai suoi primi lavori Mayhem – Disperata Ricerca, Strade Violente ed Epitaph, tuttavia questo film non è affatto graziato da una inutile lentezza narcotica ed enormi buchi di sceneggiatura quali le inspiegabili motivazioni che spingono i personaggi a portare avanti le loro scelte. La scarsezza di talento del regista siriano emerge nel cuore stesso del film quando si vuole rappresentare una discesa psicologica verso l’ inferno da parte del protagonista ma l’ attore e la tecnica registica di Merhi sono così scarsi da risultare una combo letale per lo spettatore, incredulo davanti alla noncuranza totale che si prova per la sorte del biscazziere killer. Violenza e sesso sono solamente suggeriti e questo crea una grossa delusione perché se c’è forse una cosa a cui Merhi riesce bene sono le sparatorie e le morti bislacche che ci fanno ridere a crepapelle. Ad ogni modo qualcosa di salvabile c’è perché da quando compare Robert Zdar ecco che il film cerca di risalire la china anche se ormai fuori tempo massimo. Ci consola il fatto che il suo lavoro successivo, Omicidi A Hollywood sia già un ritorno alle origini. Mehri preso da manie di grandezza si auto cita proiettando da un televisore sullo sfondo una sequenza di Mayhem – Disperata Ricerca senza rendersi conto che la maggior parte degli spettatori saranno troppo intorpiditi per notarla.

A Los Angeles-i rendőrség felügyelőjének, Benedettinek sikerül kézre kerítenie Alexát, a nemzetközileg is ismert és keresett terroristát, s a CIA úgy dönt, hogy üzletet kínálnak neki. Alexa szeretője és társa, Mahler elrabolt egy felbecsülhetetlen értékű mikrochipet a kormánytól, s most Alexát arra akarják rávenni, hogy élete egyik legveszélyesebb akciójaként legyen Mahler árulója és szerezze vissza a chipet. Alexa kénytelen elfogadni az ajánlatot, mert a CIA őrizetbe veszi a lányát és elindul a bevetésre, melynek túlélésére minden eddigi tapasztalatát össze kell szednie.

CINEMA ZOO PRESENTA: PROGETTO FUTURAMA
La famiglia Forrest sembra essere una famigliola normale. Composta da coniugi, figlia sedicenne e nonna a carico, pare abbia invece qualcosa da nascondere. La signora Forrest (Delores Nascar), una baldracca alcolizzata e psicopatica, non si fa scrupoli a commettere omicidi senza apparente motivo, per poi costringere il marito a seppellire i corpi, mettendo la famiglia in una condizione di continua tensione e mestizia.
Recensione:
Joseph Merhi è quel regista che toglie la gioia di vivere, è quel regista che ti fa mummificare piano piano e, alla fine del film, di te non rimane che un mucchietto di stracci e polvere. Tralasciando il fatto che questo film con il titolo non abbia nulla a che fare, ci troviamo davanti ad una di quelle prove a cui ogni neofita del cinema di genere si dovrebbe sottoporre per temprare le proprie ossa e crearsi una certa sicurezza e tempra. Neanche il compianto Bruno Mattei (che io adoro e nessuno me lo tocchi) avrebbe potuto girare una porcata del genere, almeno lui ci avrebbe messo un paio di tette e la palpebra si sarebbe potuta risollevare per qualche secondo, di tanto in tanto. Qui no. Qui il film comincia in tono medio basso, per poi abbassare e sprofondare in mestizia depressiva. Quando c’è il primo omicidio, alleluia, succede qualcosa. Poi da lì di nuovo baratro, una discesa verso la disintegrazione dei genitali tra i problemi adolescenziali della figlia, e quelli di alcolismo della madre.
La messinscena, inutile dirlo, è vergognosa e il 90% delle riprese sono statiche e prive di qualsiasi fantasia, dando così una sensazioni di puntata-di-telefilm-lunga-quanto-un-film. Il sadismo del signor Merhi non si limita ad una regia indegna, ma raggiunge un livello superiore privandoci di qualsiasi risvolto splatter giacchè il sangue è centellinato al centilitro. Dopo la visione l’ iscrizione al sert sarà scontata e spontanea.
