The 65th annual Berlin International Film Festival was held from 5 to 15 February 2015, with American film director Darren Aronofsky as the President of the Jury. German film director Wim Wenders was presented with the Honorary Golden Bear. The first seven films of the festival were announced on 15 December 2014.Isabel Coixet's Nobody Wants the Night was announced as the opening film.
The Iranian drama film Taxi, directed by Jafar Panahi, won the Golden Bear, which also served as the closing film of the festival.
For the first time in 2015, a "Berlin Critics' Week" ran parallel to the official festival. Similar to International Critics' Week at the Cannes festival, Berlin Critics' Week (alternatively referred to as "Critics' Week Berlin") is a sidebar run by the German Film Critics Association and screens arthouse films.
The following people were on the jury for the festival:

2015 (MMXV) was a common year starting on Thursday (dominical letter D) of the Gregorian calendar, the 2015th year of the Common Era (CE) and Anno Domini (AD) designations, the 15th year of the 3rd millennium, the 15th year of the 21st century, and the 6th year of the 2010s decade.
2015 was designated as:
Press Conference was a public-affairs television series aired in the United States in the mid-1950s.
Press Conference was similar in format and content to the long-running Meet the Press and was moderated by one of that program's creators, pioneering female journalist Martha Rountree. On the program, a current newsmaker, generally but not always a politician, was questioned by a panel of newspersons in a typical press conference format. As usually done in a traditional press conference, the subject was allowed to make an opening statement (although not all chose to do so) prior to fielding questions.
Press Conference was launched on NBC in July 1956, but that fall moved to ABC. Initially shown in prime time, the program drew only a minimal, public-affairs oriented audience running against two high-profile Sunday night variety series, The Ed Sullivan Show on CBS and The Steve Allen Show on NBC; however, its appearance helped ABC to meet the public-interest requirements imposed on U.S broadcasters by the Federal Communications Commission. Press Conference was moved to Sunday afternoon for three months in early 1957, prior to returning to prime time in April of that year under a new title, Martha Rountree's Press Conference. The program ended in July 1957.
The Berlin International Film Festival (German: Internationale Filmfestspiele Berlin), also called the Berlinale, is one of the world's leading film festivals and most reputable media events. It is held annually in Berlin, Germany.
Founded in West Berlin in 1951, the festival has been celebrated annually in February since 1978. With around 300,000 tickets sold and 500,000 admissions it is considered the largest publicly attended film festival worldwide based on actual attendance rates. Up to 400 films are shown in several sections, representing a comprehensive array of the cinematic world. Around twenty films compete for the awards called the Golden and Silver Bears. Since 2001 the director of the festival has been Dieter Kosslick.
The European Film Market (EFM), a film trade fair held simultaneously to the Berlinale, is a major industry meeting for the international film circuit. The trade fair serves distributors, film buyers, producers, financiers and co-production agents. The Berlinale Talent Campus, a week-long series of lectures and workshops, gathers young filmmakers from around the globe. It partners with the festival itself and is considered to be a forum for upcoming artists.
A film festival is an organized, extended presentation of films in one or more cinemas or screening venues, usually in a single city or region. Increasingly, film festivals show some films outdoors. Films may be of recent date and, depending upon the festival's focus, can include international and domestic releases. Some festivals focus on a specific film-maker or genre (e.g., film noir) or subject matter (e.g., horror film festivals). A number of film festivals specialise in short films of a defined maximum length. Film festivals are typically annual events. Some film historians do not consider Film Festivals as official releases of film, like Jerry Beck. The best known film festivals are the Venice Film Festival, the Cannes Film Festival, the Toronto Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, and the Berlin International Film Festival, the latter being the largest film festival worldwide, based on attendance. The Venice Film Festival is the oldest major festival. The Melbourne International Film Festival is the largest film festival in the Southern Hemisphere and one of the oldest in the world. A 2013 study found 3,000 active films festivals worldwide—active defined as having held an event in the previous 24 months.

Marcel Ophüls, Joshua Oppenheimer moderated by Ralph Eue In cooperation with Federal Foreign Office. How is it possible to look back into history, expose inconvenient truth and revive the personal memories of those who have been part of it? In this session, lauded director Joshua Oppenheimer (THE LOOK OF SILENCE) joins documentary film virtuoso Marcel Ophüls (THE MEMORY OF JUSTICE) for an in-depth discussion on the expressions of remembrance, performance and memory in their films. The two acclaimed documentarians will address the search for truth in the aftermath of history’s darkest episodes, as well as how they create and preserve cinematic spaces in their films that ensure dignity and respect for the protagonists and their often traumatic experiences. Bong Joon-Ho, Lorna Tee moderated by Christoph Gröner Film is truly a universal language and medium, but that is not to say that there are not daunting obstacles to overcome when bringing films from their local birthplaces to international audiences. The films of a specific region often convey elements of the local or regional context: its cultural heritage, its social and political preoccupations, its genres and traditions and its ways of communicating and telling stories. Bong Joon-Ho, South Korean director of THE HOST and celebrated lately for his first English language film SNOWPIERCER, and renowned Asian producer Lorna Tee (POSTCARDS FROM THE ZOO) bring their rich experiences in making films that are successful for both local and international markets to this discussion.

Walter Salles, Sebastian Schipper moderated by Peter Cowie "You simply cannot anticipate what you will find on the road," says Walter Salles in his 'Notes for a Theory of the Road Movie.' This panel brings together two filmmakers whose literally "moving" films can exemplify the best of what cinema can offer. Salles (ON THE ROAD), widely known for sending his characters off to discover their inner selves on long and winding trips, meets up with German director Sebastian Schipper. Schipper’s film VICTORIA is an exceptional entry this year in the official Berlinale Competition, as the movie sticks hard on the heels of its young protagonists and their odyssey through nocturnal Berlin, masterfully choreographed in one more than two-hour long continuous shot. Walter Salles Brazilian writer, di...
