Videoconferencing (VC) is the conduct of a videoconference (also known as a video conference or videoteleconference) by a set of telecommunication technologies which allow two or more locations to communicate by simultaneous two-way video and audio transmissions. It has also been called 'visual collaboration' and is a type of groupware.
Videoconferencing differs from videophone calls in that it's designed to serve a conference or multiple locations rather than individuals. It is an intermediate form of videotelephony, first used commercially in Germany during the late-1930s and later in the United States during the early 1970s as part of AT&T's development of Picturephone technology.
With the introduction of relatively low cost, high capacity broadband telecommunication services in the late 1990s, coupled with powerful computing processors and video compression techniques, videoconferencing has made significant inroads in business, education, medicine and media.
Videoconferencing uses audio and video telecommunications to bring people at different sites together. This can be as simple as a conversation between people in private offices (point-to-point) or involve several (multipoint) sites in large rooms at multiple locations. Besides the audio and visual transmission of meeting activities, allied videoconferencing technologies can be used to share documents and display information on whiteboards.

A conference call is a telephone call in which someone talks to several people at the same time. The conference calls may be designed to allow the called party to participate during the call, or the call may be set up so that the called party merely listens into the call and cannot speak. It is sometimes called ATC (audio tele-conference).
Conference calls can be designed so that the calling party calls the other participants and adds them to the call; however, participants are usually able to call into the conference call themselves by dialing a telephone number that connects to a "conference bridge" (a specialized type of equipment that links telephone lines).
Companies commonly use a specialized service provider who maintains the conference bridge, or who provides the phone numbers and PIN codes that participants dial to access the meeting or conference call.
The more limited three-way calling is available (usually at an extra charge) on home or office phone lines. For a three-way call, the first called party is dialed. Then the hook flash button (or recall button) is pressed and the other called party's phone number is dialed. While it is ringing, flash/recall is pressed again to connect the three people together. This option allows callers to add a second outgoing call to an already connected call.
"Want To" is a song co-written and recorded by American country music duo Sugarland. It was released in August 2006 as the first single from the album Enjoy the Ride. It was their first single not to feature former member Kristen Hall, although Jennifer Nettles had previously been featured on Bon Jovi's Number One country hit, "Who Says You Can't Go Home", the song was also the first regular Number One hit of Sugarland's career in the U.S., spending two weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts in late 2006. The duo's members, Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush, wrote the song along with Bobby Pinson. The song has sold 856,000 copies in the US as of April 2013.

My favorite way to meet with clients (besides in-person!) is through http://Zoom.us -- a video conferencing platform. Seems more stable than Skype. Zoom makes recordings easy. You can have up to 50 simultaneous participants for conference calls and webinars. I use the $15/month plan. I'm *not* affiliated with Zoom. Just a user and fan! Here's my tutorial video about how I use it.
The Spark Room System provides video conferencing to any conference room. Video enable the room with adding a monitor, a Cisco Telepresence device (SX10), and an internet connection. The Spark Room System does not require IT support … simply enter the room with the Spark App and the meeting is ready to launch. Reduce travel, reduce costs and engage clients in a new way.

Through the deployment of Hangouts and Chromebox for Meetings, we've gone from spending $150M on a proprietary video conferencing solution that still couldn't connect all of our conference rooms to a fully connected workplace. With Hangouts and Chromebox for Meetings, virtually every room at Google that has a door is connected via in-room video conferencing, and the cost? Significantly lower than our prior solution. In this video, you'll learn from Google's internal IT team about how they've enabled and built a much more affordable and efficient VC culture within Google. Missed the conference? A few weeks back I was on Fox.com doing a video show with Clayton Morris and they had me use a videoconferencing technology from Vidyo. The video was a lot better quality than Skype and I wanted to hear more about what this company is doing, so I visited them. This is the result.
