Nil Battey Sannata is directed by Ashwini Iyer Tiwari with Swara Bhaskar in the lead along with Ratna Pathak, Pankaj Tripathi and Ria. The film is produced by Anand L. Rai and Ajay Rai - Alan McAlex under Colour Yellow Productions and JAR Pictures. The film is expected to release on 22 April 2016 along with Tamil remake Amma Kanakku.

Swara Bhaskar

Swara Bhaskar (born 9 April 1988) is an Indian film actress who appears in the Hindi language films. She has received two Filmfare Award nominations, and her prime achievements have made her one of the most noticed contemporary actresses of the Hindi cinema.

Bhaskar, the daughter of Naval officer Chitrapu Uday Bhaskar, was born in Delhi. She received her bachelors degree in English literature from the University of Delhi and masters degree in Sociology from the Jawaharlal Nehru University. She made her film debut with a supporting role in the 2009 drama Madholal Keep Walking, a box-office flop. She rose to fame with the role of naughty bride-to-be in the commercially successful rom-com Tanu Weds Manu (2011). Her performance in the film garnered critical appreciation and several nominations, including the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress. She received wide critical acclaim for portraying an aggressive lover in the critically acclaimed romantic drama Raanjhanaa (2013), for which she earned her second Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress nomination, and played the lead female role in the romance Listen... Amaya (2013). She received further praise for her performance in the horror Machhli Jal Ki Rani Hai (2014), the romantic comedy Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015) and the romantic drama Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2015), with the latter two ranked among highest-grossing Indian films of all the time. She had a minor role in the successful collaborative bilingual X: Past Is Present (2015).

Ratna Pathak

Ratna Pathak Shah is an Indian actress best known for her portrayal of Maya Sarabhai in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, as a major supporting mother in Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na and also in Golmaal 3.

Early life

Ratna Pathak Shah was born in 18 March 1957 (age 58) in Mumbai, India to Bollywood actress, Dina Pathak. She is the elder sister of actress Supriya Pathak.

Pathak is an alumna of the J.B.Vachha High School, Dadar Mumbai and National School of Drama, Delhi.

Career

As well as appearing in many successful films, including Mirch Masala, Ratna Pathak appeared as the wife in The Perfect Murder.

She also acted in the hit comedy sitcom Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, for which she received the ITA Award for Best Actress - Comedy in 2005. She has been acting in a number of high quality comedy serials on the Indian television.

In July 2008 she appeared in the successful film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na as the mother of the protagonist. Naseeruddin Shah played her husband, as a deceased character who talks to her from a portrait. She has also acted in several Russian plays, as well as co-founding and being an active member of "Motley Theatre Group". She appeared in the successful film Golmaal 3 opposite Mithun Chakraborty. She was a part of the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan Selecting Committee for 2012 Awards.
