And so in this case Germany wouldn't be responsible for their processing and that person would have to be brought back to the country of his arrival, where he has been registered for the first time." 12. Migrant looking out of window STORYLINE: Germany opened another arrival centre for migrants requesting asylum on Monday in order to speed up the processing of asylum requests. Inside the new centre in the small village of Halberstadt, migrants will have their documents analysed and their identification confirmed through fingerprint checks. Authorities say the aim is to reach a decision on all applications for asylum within two days. It's the sixth arrival centre to open in Germany since the migrant crisis began. A total of 21 such centres should be operational across the country by April, authorities say.
