The Buzz: Undoubtedly DM3 will continue Illumination Entertainment's Pixar-topping success at the box office, but we've noticed that Gru's Minions have become more popular than their creator. Wouldn't it be cool to explore that relationship in the next Despicable installment?
The House (2017)- Comedy

The Buzz: Pause for a moment to realize that Amy Poehler and Will Ferrell have been entertaining us, separately and together, for two decades now, and this financial crisis comedy denotes their first movie appearance as wife and husband.

The Buzz: From its word of mouth to its near-perfect critical score, everything looks in place for Edgar Wright's pet project to become an enduring summer hit. The only thing we're wondering is how anyone can tolerate those painfully small earbuds that Ansel Elgort seems to wear all day.
13 Minutes (2015)- Biography | Drama | War
In November 1939, Georg Elser's attempt to assassinate Adolf Hitler fails, and he is arrested. During his confinement, he recalls the events leading up to his plot and his reasons for deciding to take such drastic action.
Director:Oliver Hirschbiegel |
|
Watch Trailer |
The Buzz: Oliver Hirschbiegel returns to WWII over a decade after Downfall promoted him to a major-league director. It's curious timing for a movie that has an awards sheen to it, though perhaps distributor Sony Pictures Classics views it more as alternative, adult-baiting entertainment.
The Little Hours (2017)- Comedy | Romance
A young servant fleeing from his master takes refuge at a convent full of emotionally unstable nuns in the Middle Ages. Introduced as a deaf blind man, he must fight to hold his cover as the nuns try to resist temptation.
Director:Jeff Baena |
|

The Buzz: Aubrey Plaza has another edgy offering coming up later this summer (Ingrid Goes West), but it's hard to steal focus away from a comedy that introduces us to a convent of unhinged nuns. Focus too much on thinking that director Jeff Baena has anti-religious intentions and you'll miss the movie's thoughtful character interactions and the story's overall sincerity.
The B-Side: Elsa Dorfman's Portrait Photography (2016)- Documentary
A look at the life and work of photographer Elsa Dorfman.
Director:Errol MorrisStars:Elsa Dorfman |

The Buzz: Elsa Dorfman and her Boston-adjacent accent guide us through a chronicle of her life and career as a large-format photographer while it also tells us of the decline in production of photographic equipment as an American industry.
