American Jobs is a 2004 independent film, documentary, written, produced and directed by Greg Spotts. The film is about the loss of American jobs to low-wage foreign competition, covering the phenomenon of outsourcing in manufacturing and high-paying white-collar jobs. The filmmaker visited 19 cities and towns throughout the United States interviewing recently laid-off workers, focusing on three industries: textiles, commercial aircraft and information technology. It also contains interviews with a number of members of Congress, including: Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), Rosa DeLauro (D-Connecticut), Robin Hayes (R-North Carolina), Donald Manzullo (R-Illinois), and Hilda Solis (D-California), and includes an extended section of clips from the 1993 congressional debate on NAFTA. (North American Free Trade Agreement).
Spotts self-released the film on DVD via a website on Labor Day, 2004. The CNN program Lou Dobbs Tonight featured excerpts from American Jobs on seven consecutive weeknights in September 2004, exposure which attracted a distribution deal. The Disinformation Company, publisher of Robert Greenwald's series of documentary DVDs, released American Jobs on DVD in February 2005, along with a companion book penned by Spotts, CAFTA and Free Trade: What Every American Should Know. The book was used as a lobbying tool by the AFL-CIO and members of the US Congress during the summer of 2005 when Congress was debating ratification of the Central American Free Trade Agreement.
CBS This Morning is an American morning television program that is broadcast on CBS. The program, which shares its title with a more traditionally formatted morning program that aired on the network from 1987 to 1999, airs Monday through Saturdays from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. in all time zones (airing live in the Eastern Time Zone and on tape-delay in the Central and Mountain Time Zones; stations in the Pacific Time Zone receive an updated feed with a specialized opening and updated live reports). It is the tenth distinct morning news-features program format that CBS has aired since 1954, having replaced The Early Show on January 9, 2012.
The weekday edition of the program is currently anchored by Charlie Rose, Gayle King and Norah O'Donnell. The program emphasizes general national and international news stories and in-depth reports throughout each edition, although it also includes live in-studio and pre-taped interviews. The format was chosen as an alternative to the soft news and lifestyle-driven formats of competitors Today and Good Morning America following the first hour or half-hour of those broadcasts, in an attempt to give the program a competitive edge with its hard news format (CBS has historically placed third in the ratings among the network morning shows).

Jobs - or jobs and the economy - is at the top of every poll that asks Americans what their top issue is in their voting decision for president and their priority for the federal government. Whoever becomes the next US president after the election on November 8, she or he will be expected to live up to promises both have made to get back the secure, well-paid, employment enjoyed by previous generations of American workers. However you feel about the 11 million immigrants living illegally in the United States, you should know that about one million of them are farm workers. Are they taking our jobs or are they keeping us from starving? Charlie LeDuff took a trip to the food basket of the world, the San Joaquin Valley in Central California to find out.
President Obama claims to support America's exporting and so-called "green jobs" industries, but he also likes rules that restrict the importation of critical inputs to those industries. Antidumping rules are supposed to protect American manufacturers and, by extension, American jobs. But it doesn't work out that way. In the 1980s, two of America’s most brilliant minds, Bill Gates and Steve Jobs, battle to dominate a new age and, in the process, revolutionize billions of lives. Up until this time, most computers were behemoth machines that sat in research labs and university tech centers, largely inaccessible to the public — but not for long. Relive Gates and Jobs’ heated battle to bring the personal computer to the masses. Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, entrepreneur and Twitter co-founder Biz Stone, politician and businessman Mitt Romney, and others weigh in on the innovation race that forever changed technology and put Microsoft and Apple on the map.

Shares plan to create jobs with joint session of Congress. September 8, 2011.
Donald Trump signaled a shift in his stance on visas for highly-skilled workers Thursday night, moving away from the position he took on his campaign website. "I'm changing. I'm changing. We need highly-skilled people in this country. If we can't do it, we will get them in. And we do need in Silicon Valley, we absolutely have to have. So we do need highly-skilled," Trump said. "One of the biggest problems we have people will go to the best colleges, they'll go to Harvard, they'll go to Stanford, to Wharton, as soon as they are finished they get shoved out. They want to stay in this country. They want to stay here desperately. They are not able to stay here. For that purpose, we absolutely have to be able to keep the brain power in this country." Asked if that represented a change from th...
In his speech at Scranton High School, President Obama said, "There is nothing wrong with this country that we can't fix. We're Americans, and our story has never been about things coming easy to us. That's not what Scranton has been about. That's not what Pennsylvania, that's not what America is about. It's been about rising to the moment, and meeting the moment when things are hard. It's about doing what's right."
THE END OF DACA IS NEAR , OVER 500,000 JOBS WILL BE FREED UP, AND MORE COMING IN THIS REPORT !!! With worker productivity gains on par with economic growth, the prospects for dramatic, or even optimistic, growth in employment are slim. The ranks of the unemployed, while slowly inching downward, are still uncomfortably high. But there are other issues at stake when it comes to American jobs that raise critical questions. Where will jobs come from? Are we prepared for the jobs that are coming down the pike? What is the role of government? And importantly, do they pay as well as they should? Is it time to revisit the minimum wage? Speakers: Austan Goolsbee, Elaine L. Chao, Saru Jayaraman, Kevin J. Delaney, Douglas Holtz-Eakin
I collected these short clips to provide information about this issue. I recently saw a video that said "Outsourcing is not bad for America" Personally I almost puked and died! The economy can not sustain Trillions of US dollars being paid over seas and not returning any of it back. The only people who make money off American outsourcing of US jobs to foreign workers are Large companies and foreign governments. as a side note, money we give for our goods is sent over seas is used to kill American servicemen.
From 3D printing to artificial intelligence, emerging technology is allowing smaller tech startups to succeed and differentiate themselves from major companies, according to a panel of entrepreneurs and tech experts at the New American Jobs Summit that included Max Friefeld, CEO and Cofounder of Voodoo Manufacturing, and Brian Moyer, President and CEO of the Nashville Technology Council. For example, manufacturing is becoming more local, Friefeld said, as automation allows cheaper and customizable creation.
Second stop on the American Jobs Act Bus Tour. October 17, 2011.
President-elect Donald Trump visited Indiana this week to celebrate the announcement from manufacturing company Carrier that they will keep nearly 1,000 jobs in the U.S. He then kicked off his post-election "Thank You Tour" in Ohio, where he told energized rally attendees that he would come through on his many campaign promises. Meanwhile, Democrats continue to question the election results. Rep. Nancy Pelosi was reelected to another term as House minority leader, but she faced a challenge that raises serious questions for the party's path forward.
