Zeenat Aman

Zeenat Aman (born 1951 in Bombay) is an Indian actress, model and beauty queen best known for her work in Hindi films during the 1970s and 80's. She won the Miss Asia Pacific 1970 title. She is the first South Asian woman to win the title. Upon making her debut in Bollywood, Zeenat Aman, along with Parveen Babi, was credited with making a lasting impact on the image of its leading actresses by introducing the modern look to Hindi cinema. Throughout her career she has been considered a sex symbol.

Early life

Zeenat Aman was born in Mumbai (then called Bombay) in 1951 to Amanullah Khan and Scinda. Her father, Amanullah Khan, was related to the Bhopal State ruling family. He was a script writer who made the script for such movies as Mughal-e-Azam and Pakeezah. Amanullah Khan often wrote under the nom de plume 'Aman' which she later adopted as her second name on screen. He died when Aman was 13. Her mother remarried a German man called Heinz (and was constantly referred to as Mrs. Heinz in all subsequent articles published in film magazines). Aman's mother obtained a German citizenship and took her to Germany where Zeenat Aman stayed temporarily. She returned to India when she turned 18. She is the cousin of actor Raza Murad and niece of actor Murad.

Satyam Shivam Sundaram (film)

Satyam Shivam Sundaram (Hindi: सत्यं शिवम् सुन्दरम् , English: "The Truth, the Good and The Beauty") is a 1978 Bollywood film starring Shashi Kapoor and Zeenat Aman, directed by Raj Kapoor and written by Jainendra Jain. It is a social drama about the differences between physical and spiritual love.

Plot

The story is set in a village where Roopa (Zeenat Aman) lives with her father, the village priest. As a young child, the right side of Roopa's face & neck were burned by a pot of boiling oil, leaving part of her face disfigured. Henceforth, Roopa keeps her right cheek hidden under the cover of her Sari. Despite the terrible accident, Roopa remains religious and goes to the village temple daily, singing hymns and devotional songs.

The protagonist Rajeev (Shashi Kapoor) is a dashing engineer who arrives in the village to oversee the operation of a major dam. He abhors anything that is ugly. He hears Roopa's religious singing and meets her, but somehow doesn't pay attention to her disfigured side, and falls in love with her. He then asks her father permission to marry her.

Satyam Shivam is a 1981 Telugu film directed by K. Raghavendra Rao. The film stars Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Sridevi Kapoor, and Rati Agnihotri. It is a remake of the Hindi hit film Suhaag.

They inform her that they re-dialed the last number from the victim's phone number and found that it was her work number. They also informed her that they suspect that the killer is a woman, who has killed another male in Delhi in a similar fashion and her modus operandi appears to be to kill married males who are unfaithful to their respective spouses. They provide her with a recording machine just in case the killer calls again. The female does call again and attempts to befriend Sarika but gets upset and evasive when questioned about her identity and whereabouts. Shortly thereafter the Police find another dead male victim and a hunt begins for this elusive, seemingly untraceable killer, who never leaves any clues.

When the Hussain family find that Zeenat is pregnant, they accuse her of sleeping with another male and ask her to leave. She subsequently gives birth to a daughter, Sahida, and decides to abandon her on Sharafat's grave and goes to kill herself. When Sahida starts to cry, she returns back and finds her gone. She does locate her living with the Hakim family and quite dramatically decides to be her Aayah. Years later, Sahida has grown up, is in love with Akhtar, and their wedding is arranged. It is during the ceremony that Zeenat's past will come to haunt her when the groom's family turn down this alliance as no one knows the father of Sahida.
