Bangkok (English pronunciation: /ˈbæŋkɒk/) is the capital and most populous city of Thailand. It is known in Thai as Krung Thep Maha Nakhon (กรุงเทพมหานคร, pronounced [krūŋ tʰêːp mahǎː nákʰɔ̄ːn]) or simply Krung Thep . The city occupies 1,568.7 square kilometres (605.7 sq mi) in the Chao Phraya River delta in Central Thailand, and has a population of over 8 million, or 12.6 percent of the country's population. Over 14 million people (22.2 percent) live within the surrounding Bangkok Metropolitan Region, making Bangkok an extreme primate city, dwarfing Thailand's other urban centres in terms of importance.
Bangkok traces its roots to a small trading post during the Ayutthaya Kingdom in the 15th century, which eventually grew in size and became the site of two capital cities: Thonburi in 1768 and Rattanakosin in 1782. Bangkok was at the heart of Siam's (as Thailand used to be known) modernization, during the later 19th century, as the country faced pressures from the West. The city was the centre of Thailand's political struggles, throughout the 20th century, as the country abolished absolute monarchy, adopted constitutional rule and underwent numerous coups and several uprisings. The city grew rapidly during the 1960s through the 1980s and now exerts a significant impact among Thailand's politics, economy, education, media and modern society.
Khaosan Road or Khao San Road (Thai: ถนนข้าวสาร) is a short street in central Bangkok, Thailand. It is in the Banglamphu area of (Phra Nakhon district) about 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) north of the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew.
"Khaosan" translates as "milled rice", a reminder that in former times the street was a major Bangkok rice market. In the last 20 years, however, Khaosan Road has developed into a world famous "backpacker ghetto". It offers cheap accommodation, ranging from "mattress in a box" style hotels to reasonably priced 3-star hotels. In an essay on the backpacker culture of Khaosan Road, Susan Orlean called it "the place to disappear". It is also a base of travel: coaches leave daily for all major tourist destinations in Thailand, from Chiang Mai in the north to Ko Pha Ngan in the south, and there are many relatively inexpensive travel agents who can arrange visas and transportation to the neighbouring countries of Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, and Vietnam.
Khaosan shops sell handcrafts, paintings, clothes, local fruits, unlicensed CDs, DVDs, a wide range of fake IDs, used books, plus many useful backpacker items.
Stephanie Keene (October 13, 1992 – April 5, 1995), better known by the pseudonym Baby K, was an anencephalic baby who became the center of a major U.S. court case and a debate among bioethicists.
Stephanie Keene was born at Fairfax Hospital in Virginia, the United States. At the time of her birth, she was missing most of her brain, including the cortex; only the brainstem, the portion of the brain responsible for autonomic and regulatory functions, such as the control of respiration, the heartbeat and blood pressure, had developed during pregnancy.
Keene's mother had been notified of her condition following ultrasonography, and was advised to terminate the pregnancy by her obstetrician and neonatologist but chose to carry the child to term because of "a firm Christian faith that all life should be protected." The hospital believed that care provided to the baby would be futile, while the mother believed mechanical breathing support must be provided during the baby's periodic respiratory crises. Fairfax Hospital doctors strongly advised a Do Not Resuscitate order for the child, which the mother refused. Stephanie remained on ventilator support for 6 weeks while Fairfax searched for another hospital to transfer her to, but no other hospital would accept her. After the baby was weaned off constant ventilator support, the mother agreed to move the child to a nursing facility, but the baby returned to the hospital many times for respiratory problems.
Singapore Changi Airport (IATA: SIN, ICAO: WSSS), or simply Changi Airport, is the primary civilian airport for Singapore, and one of the largest transportation hubs in Southeast Asia. It is currently the World's Best Airport (Skytrax 2015), and is one of the world's busiest airports by international passenger traffic and cargo traffic. The airport is located in Changi, at the eastern end of Singapore, approximately 17.2 kilometres (10.7 mi) northeast from Marina Bay (downtown Singapore), on a 13-square-kilometre (5.0 sq mi) site. It is operated by Changi Airport Group and it is the home base of Singapore Airlines, Singapore Airlines Cargo, SilkAir, Scoot, Tigerair, Jetstar Asia Airways, Valuair and BOC Aviation, as well as a focus city of AirAsia.
Changi Airport serves more than 100 airlines flying to some 320 cities in about 80 countries and territories worldwide. Each week, about 6,800 flights land or depart from Changi, or about one every 90 seconds, with 55.4 million passengers passing through the airport in 2015.
Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan or Wat Arun (Thai pronunciation: [wát ʔarun], "Temple of Dawn") is a Buddhist temple (wat) in Bangkok Yai district of Bangkok, Thailand, on the Thonburi west bank of the Chao Phraya River. The temple derives its name from the Hindu god Aruna, often personified as the radiations of the rising sun. Wat Arun is among the best known of Thailand's landmarks and the first light of the morning reflects off the surface of the temple with pearly iridescence. Although the temple had existed since at least the seventeenth century, its distinctive prang (spires) were built in the early nineteenth century during the reign of King Rama II.
A Buddhist temple had existed at the site of Wat Arun since the time of the Ayutthaya Kingdom. It was then known as Wat Makok, after the village of Bang Makok in which it was situated. (Makok is the Thai name for the Spondias pinnata plant) According to the historian Prince Damrong Rajanubhab, the temple was shown in French maps during the reign of King Narai (1656–1688). The temple was renamed Wat Chaeng by King Taksin when he established his new capital of Thonburi near the temple, following the fall of Ayutthaya. It is believed that Taksin vowed to restore the temple after passing it at dawn. The temple enshrined the Emerald Buddha image before it was transferred to Wat Phra Kaew on the river's eastern bank in 1785. The temple was located in grounds of the royal palace during Taksin's reign, before his successor, Rama I, moved the palace to the other side of the river. It was abandoned, for a long period of time, until Rama II, who restored the temple and extended the pagoda to 70m.

If you need to have a lay-over somewhere, Singapore Changi Airport is a pretty good place for one. On this Singapore Airlines flight we flew normal economy class from Singapore to Bangkok, and even on economy class, the seats were nice, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The food didn't look all the great, but it actually came thro...

Subscribe Now: http://bit.ly/2bmIwuf Welcome to Bangkok, the capital and largest city in Bangkok! This city has a population of over 8 million people and if you want to get a taste of Asia then this is the place to visit. This episode is all about sites you cant miss and dishes to try in Bangkok. First up is the Grand Palace of Bangkok. It dates back to 1782, it’s the number one visited site in all of Thailand. The complex houses the royal palace, government buildings and the temple of the emerald Buddha. Its important to dress appropriately, that means no shorts, sleeves tops and no tight pants. Next up is my favorite place to eat in Bangkok, Boat Noodle Alley. It was recommended to me back Mark Wiens of Migrationology the authority of Thai cuisine. Its located next to victory monum...

A trip to Bangkok; 4 days around the city. 不知不覺已經有一半年的時間沒有拍攝過較個人的作品。 趁著四天的旅遊假期,終於可以盡情地拍攝。

Thailand, Bangkok. Many things rush into my mind. I've always wanted to visit this city, and had this chance on a stopover for a few hours. It is amazing! Totally not what I expected. But see yourself! Music by Krystian Shek and Ray Maddison, Thai Palm Bay (Play At Beach Mix) (available on iTunes) Shot on a Lumix GH1 and GH2 (both hacked), the SLR Magic 12mm f1.6, Voigtlaender 25mm f0.95 and a Canon FL 55mm f1.2. A travel film of Bangkok, Thailand commissioned by Budget Travel.
I was VFX Supervisor for this TVC for Bangkok Insurances. Very fun concept and cool execution. This TVC campaign got a Gold Lion award at Cannes (can't remember the year)... In case you don't get the concept, it says: "Chances for that to happen, 0,000001%. You better get an insurance".
Nightlife in Bangkok - Bangkok Thailand
Our love it was only a whisp away
You scratch my hand and say there's a better land
Well I know your daddy he's not rich
And your mother's a drunk
But you're the one now worshiping the dole
Always want to lay me down you know
It smells like Bangkok in Chinatown
Did you get your pound of flesh today?
Well I've got a lotta learn
To learn about your past
It's a mean unpleasant land
Sometimes you cccome in deep inside
Sometimes it doesn't touch the sides
Like a sausage up an alley way
Always want to lay me down you know
It smells like Bangkok in Chinatown
Did you get your pound of flesh today?
How innocent is the day when you smile
And then you lay on your side alone hide our soul
It's another plan
It's another land
Your love it was only a whisker away
You scratch my hand and say theres a better land
Always want to lay me down you know
It smells like Bangkok in Chinatown
