A’s Farm’s 2017 Mid-Season Organizational All-Star Team

With the California League and the Midwest League All-Star breaks taking place earlier this week and all the minor league affiliates right around the halfway points of their seasons, it’s the perfect time to take a step back and determine who the true standouts on the field have been in the A’s system in the first half of 2017.

Game #74: Home Run Slappy and Injury Happy

Well, it was a costly win, that's for sure. However, in this Friday night win drought of the last few years, not to mention the A's horrific road record so far this year (hint: not even double-digit wins), I will take any win any way I can get it, even one that loses a near-perfect Cotton start after just 5+ innings in a shutout in which he allowed just three hits, as well as a promising young shortshop with a nebulous left hamstring injury. But A's win!

Game #72: Astros Quiet A's Bats, 5-1

The Astros strung together 5 hits in the top of the 6th inning to plate 3 runs off A's starter, Sean Manaea and Astros starter Mike Fiers and a string of relievers made the lead hold as the Astros took their 3rd consecutive game of the 4 game series in Oakland.
