The Script is an Irish pop rock band formed in 2001. The band comprises guitarist and vocalist Danny O'Donoghue, guitarist and vocalist Mark Sheehan and drummer Glen Power. Based in London after signing to Sony Label Group imprint Phonogenic, the band released its eponymous debut album, The Script, in August 2008, featuring the hit songs "The Man Who Can't Be Moved" and "Breakeven (Falling to Pieces)". The album peaked at number one in Ireland and the UK. Their next three albums, Science & Faith (2010), #3 (2012) and No Sound Without Silence (2014), all topped the album charts in Ireland and the UK, while Science & Faith reached number three in the US. Hit singles from the albums include "For the First Time", "Nothing", "Hall of Fame" and "Superheroes".

The Script's music has been featured in popular television programmes such as 90210, Ghost Whisperer, The Hills, Waterloo Road, EastEnders, Made in Chelsea and The Vampire Diaries. Frontman Danny O'Donoghue was also a coach on The Voice UK for seasons 1 and 2, before leaving the show in order to focus more on the band. The band has won three Meteor Ireland Music Awards, two World Music Awards and have received two Brit Award nominations.

Break-even

Break-even (or break even) is the point of balance making neither a profit nor a loss. The term originates in finance, but the concept has been applied widely since.

In economics

In economics and business, specifically cost accounting, the break-even point (BEP) is the point at which cost or expenses and revenue are equal: there is no net loss or gain, and one has "broken even." A profit or a loss has not been made, although opportunity costs have been "paid," and capital has received the risk-adjusted, expected return. It is shown graphically as the point where the total revenue and total cost curves meet. In the linear case the break-even point is equal to the fixed costs divided by the contribution margin per unit.

The break-even point is achieved when the generated profits match the total costs accumulated till the date of profit generation. Establishing the break-even point helps businesses in setting plans for the levels of production which it needs to maintain be profitable.

Break Even

Break Even are a hardcore punk band from Perth, Western Australia, originally formed in 2005.

History

Forming in the suburbs of Perth in 2005, Break Even have released two successful releases and toured with the biggest names in local and international hardcore.

On 19 November 2008 Break Even guitarist Rowan Willoughby took his own life. Rowan's untimely death took a toll not only on the members of the band, but with everyone in the hardcore community, leaving a giant question mark over the future of the band.

The band recovered and released their debut album, The Bright Side in June to rave reviews by both fans and critics alike. The album, came in at number 17 on the ARIA album chart and reached number 7 on the national AIR chart.

Breakup

On 23 February 2012, Break Even announced their breakup through various internet communities. The message to their fans on Facebook read;

The band did their final national tour as a part of the Soundwave Festival in February 2012 and announced their final dates for July 2012.

For Your Life

"For Your Life" is a song by the English rock band Led Zeppelin, from their 1976 album Presence.

Overview

During the recording of "For Your Life" at Musicland Studios, Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant was convalescing from a car accident which he had sustained in Greece the previous year, and he delivered his vocal performance from a wheelchair. The song's vocals are notable in part because of the snorting sound heard around 5:30, with the lyrics: "With the fine lines of the crystal payin' through your nose". Plant later explained the song's venom was due in part to his observations of the excessive amount of cocaine which had now pervaded and ruined the music scene in Los Angeles, during his stay on the West Coast prior to recording. The lyrics, written by Plant, indicated that one part of the song also had to do with an unnamed female acquaintance of his who got drawn into the Los Angeles drug scene, to whom he wags a finger and says "watch it."

Jimmy Page used his 1962 Lake Placid blue Fender Stratocaster for the first time on this track, which was supplied to him by Gene Parsons. Evidence of its usage is clearly present as Page executes numerous "dive bombs" on the instrument's tremolo arm. He would later use it with his band The Firm.

Night on the Sun

Night on the Sun is an EP by alternative rock band Modest Mouse, released in 1999 as a Japan-only album, and again in 2000 as a 12" vinyl in the US and UK . The tracks on the Japan's Rebel Beat Factory label were taken from The Moon & Antarctica demos that were sent to Epic Records. The four tracks on 12" ended up on 2001s Everywhere and His Nasty Parlour Tricks. Extra percussion on I Came As A Rat (Long Walk Off A Short Dock) was provided by Ben Massarella and bass on You're the Good Things was played by Ben Blankenship .

Reception

Pitchfork Media compared the EP favorably to the works of The Velvet Underground, noting that the recording contained both characteristics of their earlier work as well as the musical direction taken after their major-label debut album, The Moon & Antarctica
