Latest US Plan For Iraqi Prisoners: Throw 'Em In A Box

by Jeff Dinelli

Iraqi prisoners are now being thrown into boxes, some as small as 3 feet by 3 feet by 6 feet tall. CNN has three photos the military agreed to release, and they ain't pretty.

Apparently the crates and boxes are used for "violent" prisoners, and really, the military explains that it's really not so bad for these guys; US soldiers check to see if there's still life in the crates every 15 minutes or so, and after all, they're only kept in the box for 12 hours at a time.

What the hell? What did these people ever do to us? What exactly are we doing there? And we're now locking people in boxes?

The only reason we know about this particular horror is some blogger filed a Freedom of Information Act request like three years ago, and we don't really know much about this practice, according to Human Rights Watch. What else is going on over there?
