Holly Herndon: "So much of Chorus was constructed by spying on my own online habits. It felt fitting to invite Akihiko, who I had been spying on online for a long time before my approach, to contribute the visual treatment of the piece."
Akihiko Taniguchi: "I was interested in exploring the textures of daily necessities and the embodiment / physicality of the computer and Internet. One of the most striking contemporary images is that of the desktop capture, which is seen commonly on YouTube as part of software tutorials. I like the shots of desktops that are poorly organized and 'lived-in'.
Referencing one of my earlier pieces "study of real-time 3D Internet", I considered how it corresponds to the personal environment outside of the screen and how particular it is to my identity and my friend's identities. I asked several friends to photograph their desktop environments and then rendered these images with custom 3D software, shooting video by moving throughout this virtual space. This video is a collection of records of life of friends and their Internet environments."
Herndon: "I love the idea of depicting the mundane and quotidian in high definition, and how evocative and individual each of these spaces are. Thinking about intimacy and the laptop is familiar territory for me. I've also been thinking a lot about privacy, particularly in light of the ongoing revelations regarding the NSA, which add a more sinister sub-narrative to Akihiko's piece.
The most crucial conversations happening in technology at the moment focus squarely on our work space, our email, our iSight and our smart phone, and how much we can honestly claim those spaces to be ours at all in an era of indiscriminate and imperceptible surveillance."

The plebes of the U.S. Naval Academy Class of 2019 met and conquered the final challenge of their freshman year during the annual Herndon Monument Climb May 23.
Working together to replace the plebe cover at the top with a midshipman cover, the plebes-no-more formed a human pyramid around the 21-foot-tall monument, ultimately capped by Midshipman 4th Class Chris Bianchi in 1:12:34.

Keiana Herndon Facebook Video
Keiana Herndon, 26, of Camden, Arkansas loved to share her life on social media, and on December 28, 2016 she passed away on Facebook Live, as thousands of her friends watched.
She was streaming on Facebook from her friend's house in El Dorado, Arkansas and was telling her audience how she would like to go back to school, when her aunt says she suddenly began wiping her face and shaking her head, according to KATV. “Never knew that was going to be the last breath she would take, on social media live,” said Keiana's aunt, Barbara Johnson.
According to Johnson, in the Facebook Live video, you can see Keiana holding her one-year-old son. Moments later, she starts to rub her face and eyes. “She go to whipping her face and shaking her head, and I was thinking what’s wrong with Kei? We call her Kei. Then she fell back and then (her son) picked the phone up and started talking and playing and then I hear (gasping) then I heard one more…I didn’t hear nothing else,” said Johnson.
The video ends with Keiana's friend finding her on the floor and calling 911.
The video has since been removed from Facebook.
Keiana's mother says she was the light of their life and a wonderful mother to her two children. “She had thyroid problems. The thyroid messes with everything and it triggered her heart," said her mother.
Results from the autopsy is pending.
Friends and family say to know Keiana was to love her. They describe her as beautiful, free spirited and a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.
Please remember her two sons, many loved ones and friends who are grieving her loss. Rest peacefully Keiana. ✨ Via instamemorials

Holly Herndon
Holly Herndon (born 1980) is an American composer, musician, and sound artist based in San Francisco, California. She is currently also a doctoral student in composition at Stanford University. Her work is primarily computer-based and often uses the visual programming language Max/MSP to create custom instruments and vocal processes. She has released music on the labels RVNG Intl and 4AD. Her most recent full-length album Platform was released in 2015.
Biography
Early life
Holly Herndon was born in 1980 and raised in Johnson City, Tennessee. She left Tennessee as a teenager and spent several years living in Berlin, absorbed in the city's dance and techno scene. When Herndon returned to the United States she began studying electronic music at Mills College in Oakland, California. She studied under John Bischoff, James Fei, Maggi Payne, and Fred Frith, receiving her MFA in Electronic Music and Recording Media. While at Mills she composed the vocal-generated piece 195, which won her the Elizabeth Mills Crothers award for best composer in 2010. At school she focused on laptop performance, and she currently does most of her composing via laptop. In 2011 she released Car, an independent, near hour-long track on cassette.

Ty Herndon
Boyd Tyrone "Ty" Herndon (born May 2, 1962) is an American country music singer. After signing to Epic Records in 1995, Herndon made his debut with his number one single, "What Mattered Most", followed by the release of his first album, also entitled What Mattered Most (1995). The album was followed by the release of his second album, Living in a Moment (1996), which produced his second number one country hit, with the album's title track.
Herndon released three more albums for Epic: Big Hopes (1998), Steam (1999), and This Is Ty Herndon: Greatest Hits (2000). He recorded a Christmas album in 2002 for the Riviera label, followed by his fifth studio album, Right About Now (2007) and a second Christmas compilation for the Titan Pyramid label; his sixth studio release, Journey On, followed in 2010.
Herndon has charted a total of 17 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. This figure includes three number ones: "What Mattered Most", "Living in a Moment" and "It Must Be Love", as well as four additional top ten hits: "I Want My Goodbye Back", "Loved Too Much", "A Man Holding On (To a Woman Letting Go)" and "Hands of a Working Man."

Herndon Monument
The Herndon Monument on the grounds of the U.S. Naval Academy is a 21-foot tall grey granite obelisk. It was erected in memory of Captain William Lewis Herndon, who courageously decided to go down with his ship, SS Central America, and the men left aboard rather than save himself on September 12, 1857. All women and children and many of the men aboard were saved by a nearby ship during the storm.
Description
The monument is a 400 inches by 71 inches by 71 inches (10.2 m × 1.8 m × 1.8 m) granite obelisk presented to the Academy by the class of 1860. It was designed by an unknown sculptor, and has the alternative long name of "Commander William L. Herndon, USN 1813-1857".

On the monument's base, facing the Naval Academy Chapel, is a plaque:

A Moment
A Moment is the second album of R&B singer Lalah Hathaway. The album's first single was "Let Me Love You," produced by Brian Alexander Morgan of SWV fame. A video was also shot for the single. The follow-up single was "Separate Ways," released as a double-A side single with "Family Affair." The Martyn Ware-produced "Family Affair" was actually released in 1991 and billed as "BEF featuring Lalah Hathaway".
The CD format of the album is now out-of-print, but is available as a digital download.

The plebes of the U.S. Naval Academy Class of 2019 met and conquered the final challenge of their freshman year during the annual Herndon Monument Climb May 23. Working together to replace the plebe cover at the top with a midshipman cover, the plebes-no-more formed a human pyramid around the 21-foot-tall monument, ultimately capped by Midshipman 4th Class Chris Bianchi in 1:12:34.

Holly Herndon: "So much of Chorus was constructed by spying on my own online habits. It felt fitting to invite Akihiko, who I had been spying on online for a long time before my approach, to contribute the visual treatment of the piece."
Akihiko Taniguchi: "I was interested in exploring the textures of daily necessities and the embodiment / physicality of the computer and Internet. One of the most striking contemporary images is that of the desktop capture, which is seen commonly on YouTube as part of software tutorials. I like the shots of desktops that are poorly organized and 'lived-in'.
Referencing one of my earlier pieces "study of real-time 3D Internet", I considered how it corresponds to the personal environment outside of the screen and how particular it is to my identity and my friend's identities. I asked several friends to photograph their desktop environments and then rendered these images with custom 3D software, shooting video by moving throughout this virtual space. This video is a collection of records of life of friends and their Internet environments."
Herndon: "I love the idea of depicting the mundane and quotidian in high definition, and how evocative and individual each of these spaces are. Thinking about intimacy and the laptop is familiar territory for me. I've also been thinking a lot about privacy, particularly in light of the ongoing revelations regarding the NSA, which add a more sinister sub-narrative to Akihiko's piece.
The most crucial conversations happening in technology at the moment focus squarely on our work space, our email, our iSight and our smart phone, and how much we can honestly claim those spaces to be ours at all in an era of indiscriminate and imperceptible surveillance."

Then she fell back and then (her son) picked the phone up and started talking and playing and then I hear (gasping) then I heard one more…I didn’t hear nothing else,” said Johnson.
The video ends with Keiana's friend finding her on the floor and calling 911.
The video has since been removed from Facebook.
Keiana's mother says she was the light of their life and a wonderful mother to her two children. “She had thyroid problems. The thyroid messes with everything and it triggered her heart," said her mother.
Results from the autopsy is pending.
Friends and family say to know Keiana was to love her. They describe her as beautiful, free spirited and a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.

A Chihuahua-mix puppy was found in a Las Vegas airport bathroom with a handwritten note detailing that the dog's owner was fleeing from domestic violence and had run out of options, according to CBS News. The dog was found last weekend in the airport bathroom with an anonymous note that read,"My owner was in an abusive relationship and couldn't afford me to get on the flight." ... He probably needs a vet ... Abusers — they have no limits."....
