The Wonder Years is an American television comedy-drama created by Neal Marlens and Carol Black. It ran on ABC from 1988 until 1993. The pilot aired on January 31, 1988, following ABC's coverage of Super Bowl XXII.
The show achieved a spot in the Nielsen Top 30 for four of its six seasons.TV Guide named the show one of the 20 best of the 1980s. After only six episodes aired, The Wonder Years won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series in 1988. In addition, at age 13, Fred Savage became the youngest actor ever nominated as Outstanding Lead Actor for a Comedy Series. The show was also awarded a Peabody Award in 1989, for "pushing the boundaries of the sitcom format and using new modes of storytelling." In total, the series won 22 awards and was nominated for 54 more. In 1997, "My Father's Office" was ranked #29 on TV Guide's 100 Greatest Episodes of All Time, and in the 2009 revised list the pilot episode was ranked #43.
The series was conceived by writers Neal Marlens and Carol Black. They set out to create a family show that would appeal to the baby-boomer generation by setting the series in the late 60s, a time of radical change in America's history. They also wanted the series to tie this setting in to the life of a normal boy growing up during the period. After writing the script for the pilot episode, Marlens and Black began shopping the series to television networks. None of them were interested, except for ABC, with whom Marlens and Black reached an agreement. This show is one of the last of the family oriented comedy shows produced while at the same time the family was somewhat dysfunctional. Some described the show as a rough-around-the-edges version of Leave It To Beaver.
The following is an episode list for the ABC comedy-drama series The Wonder Years. The series premiered on January 31, 1988 and ran for a total of 115 episodes spanning 6 seasons ending on May 12, 1993.
Originally, none of the seasons were available on DVD as official season box sets due to the cost of securing the music rights. (See The Wonder Years article for more detailed information.) Time Life released the complete series on DVD Friday October 10th 2014.

For five years, the hit TV series 'The Wonder Years' brought families together for a wholesome look back at an all-American childhood. The show followed the lives of Winnie Cooper and Kevin Arnold played by Danica McKellar and Fred Savage. Fans remember the show fondly. "All these years later that they still think about the show; that the show still means something to them. Only now is it really settling in how the show has endured," said Savage. The co-stars are currently promoting the DVD version of 'The Wonder Years.' The complete set is packaged inside a miniature school locker. "Inside is even more amazing. They went and did so much research. They got pictures and behind-the-scenes photos, Kevin and Winnie's notebooks from school,' said McKellar.

With a smoke bomb you're gone and I'm alone. I'm waiting for you to get home, tired of sitting here with the swords you own. I'm starting to worry about you. Your skin is always black and blue. You can't defend this city all alone, its true. I'm forced away (its nunchucks to the face). I'm missing your warm but deadly embrace. I can't make out the shape of your face. You've masked it with all your honor and grace. Let's not say you broke my heart. You pierced it with a throwing star. It was an accident. I know your aim is off. Jump kicks are getting hard to miss. All I wanted was a kiss. It's getting really hard to live like this. You've been throwing stars at my heart and now we've come this far. I should have seen it from the start. I see that it's finally time to part. You fucked me up with your poison dart. I shoulda seen it from the fucking start.
