A forte chuva que atinge Curitiba e Região Metropolitana desde as primeiras horas desta terça-feira (6) já supera a média histórica para o mês de junho. O volume de água registrado nesta terça feira (6) é de 118,4 milímetros, enquanto a média histórica para o mês é de 116. O temporal alagou várias ruas de Curitiba.
A Prefeitura de Curitiba informou que trabalha para atender os bairros com pontos de alagamento. De acordo com levantamentos da Defesa Civil do município, Xaxim, Pinheirinho, Santa Quitéria, Cajuru e Parolin sofrem com as enchentes após o acúmulo de 102 milímetros de água – o total esperado para todo os mês de junho em Curitiba. De acordo com o município, são 22 equipes da Secretaria de Obras trabalhando pela cidade, desentupindo bueiros e retirando vegetação das galerias para escoar a água da chuva e impedir novos alagamentos. A Guarda Municipal faz monitoramento em todas as regionais. Foram registrados até agora apenas danos materiais, sem vítimas. O repórter da Rede Massa Lucian Pichetti registrou a situação em algumas outras ruas da cidade. Confira:
Regionais
Na Regional Portão há um grande ponto de alagamento no bairro Parolin. Três barracos caíram e o Rio Guaíra transbordou. Na Regional Boqueirão, há registros de transbordamento do Ribeirão dos Padilhas, no Xaxim, e do Córrego Alto Boqueirão, no Boqueirão. Rio Belém tem alagamentos em alguns pontos do bairro. O Terminal do Boqueirão tem pontos de alagamento, mas funciona normalmente.
Na Regional Cajuru, há pontos de alagamento na Vila Betel. Rio Areiãozinho, que passa na região, transbordou. Na Regional Tatuquara, foram registrados apenas alagamentos de ruas, sem desalojados ou desabrigados. Na Regional Matriz, houve alagamento na área do Mercado Central, na Rua da Cidadania, e a calha teve a tubulação danificada.
De acordo com a URBS, há bloqueios e desvios de ônibus no cruzamento das ruas Alferes Poli e Brasílio Itiberê. Na Wenceslau Brás, há desvio de uma quadra, sem perda da parada em tubo. No início da tarde, a Cosedi inspecionou um muro que caiu no Pilarzinho, na Rua Álvaro Moleta. A residência será interditada e os proprietários notificados para a construção de um muro de arrimo.
Foi registrado alagamento no CMEI Vila Torres, no Parolin. As crianças estão na sala da diretora aguardando a chegada dos pais. Na CIC, houve alagamentos na Escola Municipal Dario Vellozo e no CMEI Barigui I.
Outras cidades
Além de Curitiba, outras cidades registraram um grande volume de água nas chuvas desta terça-feira (6). Em Palmital, o volume foi de 100 milímetros. Em Inácio Martins, 77 milímetros, e em Fernandes Pinheiro, 71 milímetros.
Em Araucária, na Grande Curitiba, a Defesa Civil do municípios atendeu na tarde desta terça feira (6) 4 destelhamentos, 1 alagamento, 1 deslizamento de terra e ainda 1 queda de árvore. O município já mobiliza a população em busca de doações para as famílias atingidas.

Nesse vídeo eu conto algumas diferenças culturais que percebi quando vim morar em Curitiba, ainda faltou muita coisa, mas o vídeo iria ficar enorme e cansativo, então no próximo eu falo mais sobre outros aspectos que não sejam só o vocabulário, e vou contar também algumas curiosidades (para quem é de fora) como a deliciosa "Carne de Onça" - que não é feita de onça.

Curitiba
Curitiba (Tupi: "Pine Nut Land", Portuguese pronunciation: [kuɾiˈtʃibɐ]) is the capital and largest city of the Brazilian state of Paraná. The city's population numbered approximately 1,879,355 people as of 2015, making it the eighth most populous city in the country, and the largest in Brazil's South Region. The Curitiba Metropolitan area comprises 26 municipalities with a total population of over 3.2 million (IBGE estimate in 2010), making it the seventh most populous in the country.
Curitiba is an important cultural, political, and economic centre in Latin America. The city sits on a plateau at 932 metres (3,058 ft) above sea level. It is located 105 kilometres (65 mi) west of the seaport of Paranaguá and is served by the Afonso Pena International and Bacacheri airports. The city hosts the Federal University of Paraná, established in 1912.
In the 1700s Curitiba possessed a favorable location between cattle-breeding country and marketplaces, leading to a successful cattle trade and the city's first major expansion. Later, between 1850 and 1950, it grew due to logging and agricultural expansion in the Paraná State (first Araucaria logging, later mate and coffee cultivation and in the 1970s wheat, corn and soybean cultivation). In the 1850s waves of European immigrants arrived in Curitiba, mainly Germans, Italians, Poles and Ukrainians, contributing to the city's economic and cultural development. Nowadays, only smaller numbers of foreign immigrants arrive, primarily from Middle Eastern and other Latin American countries.

Alagamento no centro de Curitiba
A forte chuva que atinge Curitiba e Região Metropolitana desde as primeiras horas desta terça-feira (6) já supera a média histórica para o mês de junho. O volume de água registrado nesta terça feira (6) é de 118,4 milímetros, enquanto a média histórica para o mês é de 116. O temporal alagou várias ruas de Curitiba. A Prefeitura de Curitiba informou que trabalha para atender os bairros com pontos de alagamento. De acordo com levantamentos da Defesa Civil do município, Xaxim, Pinheirinho, Santa Quitéria, Cajuru e Parolin sofrem com as enchentes após o acúmulo de 102 milímetros de água – o total esperado para todo os mês de junho em Curitiba. A forte chuva que atinge Curitiba e Região Metropolitana desde as primeiras horas desta terça-feira (6) já supera a média histórica para o mês de junho. O volume de água registrado nesta terça feira (6) é de 118,4 milímetros, enquanto a média histórica para o mês é de 116. O temporal alagou várias ruas de Curitiba.
A Prefeitura de Curitiba informou que trabalha para atender os bairros com pontos de alagamento. De acordo com levantamentos da Defesa Civil do município, Xaxim, Pinheirinho, Santa Quitéria, Cajuru e Parolin sofrem com as enchentes após o acúmulo de 102 milímetros de água – o total esperado para todo os mês de junho em Curitiba. De acordo com o município, são 22 equipes da Secretaria de Obras trabalhando pela cidade, desentupindo bueiros e retirando vegetação das galerias para escoar a água da chuva e impedir novos alagamentos. A Guarda Municipal faz monitoramento em todas as regionais. Foram registrados até agora apenas danos materiais, sem vítimas. O repórter da Rede Massa Lucian Pichetti registrou a situação em algumas outras ruas da cidade. Confira:
Regionais
Na Regional Portão há um grande ponto de alagamento no bairro Parolin. Três barracos caíram e o Rio Guaíra transbordou. Na Regional Boqueirão, há registros de transbordamento do Ribeirão dos Padilhas, no Xaxim, e do Córrego Alto Boqueirão, no Boqueirão. Rio Belém tem alagamentos em alguns pontos do bairro. O Terminal do Boqueirão tem pontos de alagamento, mas funciona normalmente.
Na Regional Cajuru, há pontos de alagamento na Vila Betel. Rio Areiãozinho, que passa na região, transbordou. Na Regional Tatuquara, foram registrados apenas alagamentos de ruas, sem desalojados ou desabrigados. Na Regional Matriz, houve alagamento na área do Mercado Central, na Rua da Cidadania, e a calha teve a tubulação danificada.
De acordo com a URBS, há bloqueios e desvios de ônibus no cruzamento das ruas Alferes Poli e Brasílio Itiberê. Na Wenceslau Brás, há desvio de uma quadra, sem perda da parada em tubo. No início da tarde, a Cosedi inspecionou um muro que caiu no Pilarzinho, na Rua Álvaro Moleta. A residência será interditada e os proprietários notificados para a construção de um muro de arrimo.
Foi registrado alagamento no CMEI Vila Torres, no Parolin. As crianças estão na sala da diretora aguardando a chegada dos pais. Na CIC, houve alagamentos na Escola Municipal Dario Vellozo e no CMEI Barigui I.
Outras cidades
Além de Curitiba, outras cidades registraram um grande volume de água nas chuvas desta terça-feira (6). Em Palmital, o volume foi de 100 milímetros. Em Inácio Martins, 77 milímetros, e em Fernandes Pinheiro, 71 milímetros.
Em Araucária, na Grande Curitiba, a Defesa Civil do municípios atendeu na tarde desta terça feira (6) 4 destelhamentos, 1 alagamento, 1 deslizamento de terra e ainda 1 queda de árvore. O município já mobiliza a população em busca de doações para as famílias atingidas.

Em Araucária, na Grande Curitiba, a Defesa Civil do municípios atendeu na tarde desta terça feira (6) 4 destelhamentos, 1 alagamento, 1 deslizamento de terra e ainda 1 queda de árvore. O município já mobiliza a população em busca de doações para as famílias atingidas.

The Train Ride: Curitiba to Morretes (Brazil)
Traveling along 110 km of a railroad with 125 years of history through the largest preserved area of Brazil’s Atlantic Forest, the railway is surrounded by amazing landscapes, with canyons, waterfalls and vegetal biodiversity. The journey along the centenary railroad, allows the visitor to admire the beauties of the "Serra do Mar" (Sea Mountain Range), crossing bridges, viaducts, valleys and tunnels excavated in solid rocks, work and pride of Brazilian engineering. The Mountain Range Train of Paraná departs from the city of Curitiba to Morretes everyday and on Sundays it also arrives at Paranaguá. The trip takes approximately 3 hours.

http://www.ozairrao.com - The plan was to reach Ilha do Mel for the Jazz Festival – so to get there – one of the nicest ways to go was by the famous train ride. The ride lasted about 3-4 hours and among its 110 kilomeeters of railway line extension you get to see amazing landscapes, rich animal and vegetation biodiversity, spectacular bends, canyons and gorges, waterfalls and a lot more. Now in our case – we had to travel – so we couldn’t be picky about choosing a clear day – but when you guys go – do make sure it’s a clear sky – you get to see so much more. The train inside was pretty vintage and maintained and they do serve snacks on the way. Also, during the trip the train passes trough 14 tunnels, 30 bridges, beyond mountains and viaducts. Brazil is the largest country in South America and fifth largest in the world. Famous for its football (soccer) tradition and its annual Carnaval in Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Recife and Olinda. It is a country of great diversity, from the bustling urban mosaic of São Paulo to the infinite cultural energy of Pernambuco and Bahia, the wilderness of the Amazon rainforest and world-class landmarks such as the Iguaçu Falls, there is plenty to see and to do in Brazil.

Amazon Rainforest - The Amazon River Basin holds more than half of the world's remaining rainforest, and over 60% of that lies within the North of Brazil — approximately one billion acres with incredible biodiversity. The region is home to about 2.5 million insect species, over 40,000 plants species, 2200 fish species, and more than 2,000 types of birds and mammals. One in five of all the bird species in the world live in the rainforests of the Amazon, and one in five of the fish species live in Amazonian rivers and streams.
Atlantic Forest (Mata Atlântica) - A region of tropical and subtropical forest which extends along the Atlantic coast of Brazil from Rio Grande do Norte state in the Northeast to Rio Grande do Sul state in the South. The Atlantic Forest has a wide variety of vegetation, including the many tree species such as the iconic araucaria tree in the south or the mangroves of the northeast, dozens of types of bromeliads and orchids, and unique critters such as capivara. The forest has also been designated a World Biosphere Reserve, with a large number of highly endangered species including the well-known marmosets, lion tamarins and woolly spider monkeys. Unfortunately, it has been extensively cleared since colonial times, mainly for the farming of sugar cane and for urban settlements — The remnants are estimated to be less than 10% of the original, and that is often broken into hilltop islands. However, large swaths of it are protected by hundreds of parks, including 131 federal parks, 443 state parks, and 14 municipal parks, most of which are open to visitation.
Campos Gerais - With a vast vegetation of grasses and areas of transition between the Cerrado and Atlantic Forest, this region offers beautiful scenery of cliffs and canyons, as Jaguaricatú Valley, beyond the fifth and the eighth most extensive canyons in the world, which are respectively Guartelá and Jaguariaíva . Jaguariaíva the canyon is made more beautiful rafting activity in Brazil.
Pantanal - A vast tropical wetland expanse, one of the world's largest. 80% of it lies within the state of Mato Grosso do Sul but it also extends into Mato Grosso (as well as into portions of Bolivia and Paraguay), sprawling over an area estimated at between 140,000 and 195,000 square kilometers (54,000-75,000 sq mi). 80% of the Pantanal floodplains are submerged during the rainy seasons, nurturing an astonishing biologically diverse collection of aquatic plants and helping support a dense array of animal species.
Waterfalls (Cachoeiras) - Brazil has an amazing range of impressive waterfalls of all sizes and shapes. Iguaçu Falls, in eastern Parana, is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the world, truly a sight to see. The 353-meter Cachoeira da Fumaça in Bahia's Chapada Diamantina National Park is the country's second highest waterfall, after the Amazon's almost inaccessible Cachoeira do Araca. Other famous waterfalls include Caracol Falls, in a Rio Grande do Sul state park of the same name near Canela, Itaquira Falls, an easily accessible 168-meter fall near Formosa, Goiás, and the gorge at Parque da Cascata near Sete Lagoas, Minas Gerais. Aside from the nationally famous falls, in many parts of the country, particularly the South, Southeast, and Central West regions, you are rarely far from at least one locally-famous, named waterfall worth a short hike.

Colonial architecture - Many cities have reminders of Brazil's colonial past, with churches, monasteries, forts, barracks, and other structures still intact. Some of the most concentrated and best-preserved colonial buildings can be found in old gold-mining towns such as Ouro Preto and Tiradentes, but many other cities such as Rio de Janeiro, Petrópolis, Salvador, Recife, Paraty, and Goiânia have quite significant colonial centers as well.

Thanks to some exceptional urban planning in the 50s and 60s, Curitiba has become internationally recognized as a model “Green” city.
Home to over two million residents with more than 150 square miles of public parks and forests, Curitiba has been voted one of the best places to live in all of Latin America.
I spent the first day visiting the Botanical Gardens, Japan Square, Passeio Público, Tanguá Park and the local Curitiba favorite, Barigui Park.
After a full day of exploring the local park scene, I was invited by some local friends to a special culinary event called "Mesa ao Vivo."
A group of four famous Brazilian chefs created dishes on live TV that day and then presented them to a small group of friends and peers that evening.. and somehow, I was lucky enough to be on the list.
We started off with Rosé bubbly paired with a spin on some local favorites like Coxinha, sausage and steak tartar.
Then it was white wine with Scallops, farofa and a dash of doce de leite.
The main course was red wine and Costela (or ribs) with Pinhao, a local nut and fermented pineapple.
For desert we had a light and fluffy coconut creme with apples and honey over a drizzle of chocolate moose.
It was an incredible evening that opened my eyes to the culinary movement happening in Southern Brazil at the moment and I was so thankful to be a part of it.
The next morning I was up early to go explore more of downtown Curitiba and take in all the sites and sounds of the city.
After cruising around the city, I met back up with local friends for a more traditional approach to Brazilian cooking.
We talked about life in Curitiba over delicious meat and cold beer as my perception of Brazil broadened once again.
Curitiba clean, safe and incredibly refreshing. The people were warm and accommodating and I can definitely see why it's looked at as such a great place to live.

Best Beaches of Florianopolis:
Campeche Beach - One of the widest and longest stretching beaches in Florianopolis.
Joaquina Beach - Famous for its big sand dunes and surfing breaks, Joaquina has long been the most popular beach in Floripa.
Mole Beach - In recent years, Mole beach is taking over Joaquina's thrown as the ultimate hot spot for the young, cool crowd. Come here to surf or hangout and stay for the beautiful women of Floripa!
Jureré / Jureré Internacional - This part of the island is dedicated to the rich and famous. Huge homes, beautiful beach and lots of money to go around. There is also a really cool fort close to Jureré Internacional that you should check out while you're in the area.
Santinho Beach - Off the beaten path and a little bit of a task getting there, Santinho is a great spot to escape the crowds. Although there's a big resort on one end of the beach, if you time it right you'll have more than enough space to enjoy the beauty of rolling green hills crashing down into the ocean.
Lagoinha do Leste - Absolute paradise. As you saw from the video, it takes a little while to get there, but that makes it all the better. Come during high season and you'll have to share the space with surfers... a small price to pay for perfection.

Traveling along 110 km of a railroad with 125 years of history through the largest preserved area of Brazil’s Atlantic Forest, the railway is surrounded by amazing landscapes, with canyons, waterfalls and vegetal biodiversity. The journey along the centenary railroad, allows the visitor to admire the beauties of the "Serra do Mar" (Sea Mountain Range), crossing bridges, viaducts, valleys and tunnels excavated in solid rocks, work and pride of Brazilian engineering.
The Mountain Range Train of Paraná departs from the city of Curitiba to Morretes everyday and on Sundays it also arrives at Paranaguá.
The trip takes approximately 3 hours.

http://www.ozairrao.com - The plan was to reach Ilha do Mel for the Jazz Festival – so to get there – one of the nicest ways to go was by the famous train ride. The ride lasted about 3-4 hours and among its 110 kilomeeters of railway line extension you get to see amazing landscapes, rich animal and vegetation biodiversity, spectacular bends, canyons and gorges, waterfalls and a lot more. Now in our case – we had to travel – so we couldn’t be picky about choosing a clear day – but when you guys go – do make sure it’s a clear sky – you get to see so much more. The train inside was pretty vintage and maintained and they do serve snacks on the way. Also, during the trip the train passes trough 14 tunnels, 30 bridges, beyond mountains and viaducts. Now for the options – we opted for the tourist one with Portuguese guide. We actually would prefer one without the guide but nice seats. I feel – well depends on guides – but they just keep speaking ☺ We took the R$ 90 option I think – which comes with snacks and a drink. The seats were very comfortable and we had a nice big window to look out. Next Stop Morretes!
