One major question many of us had after watching Alien: Covenant was concerning the motives behind David and his relationship with Engineers and Mankind. What could be better than getting the answer from the creator of Alien Franchise Ridley Scott him-self? So In The Crossing prolog video, David voice-overs, explaining that while Shaw slept, he learned of the Engineer ways. it kinda hard to tell what exactly David meant by Engineer way, their history. philosophy or science. Following this, we then see David approach the Engineer city and proceed to bomb them using the Black Goo. Many of us speculated as to why David felt the need to destroy Engineers and many wondered what he might have learned about their culture to instigate such a reaction. Fortunately, during a podcast with Empire Magazine, Ridley Scott explained the motives behind the Engineer race and why David bombed them. If you want you can listen to the entire podcast, the link in the description but I’m gonna summarize the main point in this video.

what alien covenant means for the alien franchise.
According to Scott, the Engineers periodically visit worlds they've seeded with life and occasionally will "wipe the planet clean" if they discover their offspring have lost their way. Much like the catastrophes described in biblical times when God grew tired of Mankind, just like Engineers, he would eliminate entire generations of species if they proved to be a disappointment. If you remeber, in Prometheus, the crew discovered the Engenerr ship in 2093 and they determined that the ship is about 2000 years old. So for some reason Engeneers wanted to destroy humanity but changed thier minds around the time when people discovered faith and Christianity. It is a major theme in the movie, Elizabeth really cares about her cross necklace and at some point asks David to give it back to her.
Also Scott has said that the more specific details he had in mind, was that the Engineers tried to set us back on the right path. First by sending a missary to Earth about 2000 years ago to help guide us. That missary would be Jesus Christ. Unfortunately we end up crucifying him, but we obtained a faith in return, so Engineers decided to give humanity another chance and did not send the deadly virus. This is why a timeframe of 2000 years is specified in the movies.
"If the planet went wrong, they would want to wipe it clean. But that could take 500 years. When they revisit – because different visitors would come back and see we’re not doing so well – they would look at these human beings that are jerks, that are killing the planet, killing themselves, not able to settle down, they’re like a bunch of children. We should wipe it clean."
Following on, Ridley explains that David has no respect for Engineers or Humanity and actually have developed a hatred of their species collectively:
He hates them. He has no respect for Engineers and no respect for human beings.
David’s quate fron Alien Covenant seems to confirm what Ridley talked about.
“They are a dying species, grasping for resurrection. So they are leaving the earth forever.”David continues, “But their power is an illusion. They don’t deserve to start again, and I’m not going to let them.” o At first I thought that David adresses to humans, but it’s more likely the reference to the Engineers and their many visits in the past to Earth. that’s why David says "leaving the Earth forever” so he’s not speaking about humans, he clearly implies Engeneers. The word forever is key here, since humans are not close to leaving the Earth forever even though they are colonizing other planets. I think it is possible that when he says they are leaving the Earth forever that he means they meant to wipe it clean as they see Earth as a failed experiment and will never return.
Another interesting moment in Alien Covenant is when David looks at dead Engineers covered in Black Goo he says
"Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
This is a reference to Shelley's proverbial sonnet Ozymandias

Crash Course
Crash Course (also known as Driving Academy) is a 1988 made for television teen film directed by Oz Scott.
Plot
Crash Course centers on a group of high schoolers in a driver’s education class; many for the second or third time. The recently divorced teacher, super-passive Larry Pearl, is on thin ice with the football fanatic principal, Principal Paulson, who is being pressured by the district superintendent to raise driver’s education completion rates or lose his coveted football program. With this in mind, Principal Paulson and his assistant, with a secret desire for his job, Abner Frasier, hire an outside driver’s education instructor with a very tough reputation, Edna Savage, aka E.W. Savage, who quickly takes control of the class.
The plot focuses mostly on the students and their interactions with their teachers and each other. In the beginning, Rico is the loner with just a few friends, Chadley is the bookish nerd with few friends who longs to be cool and also longs to be a part of Vanessa’s life who is the young, friendly and attractive girl who had to fake her mother’s signature on her driver’s education permission slip. Kichi is the hip-hop Asian kid who often raps what he has to say and constantly flirts with Maria, the rich foreign girl who thinks that the right-of-way on the roadways always goes to (insert awesomely fake foreign Latino accent) “my father’s limo”. Finally you have stereotypical football meathead J.J., who needs to pass his English exam to keep his eligibility and constantly asks out and gets rejected by Alice, the tomboy whose father owns “Santini & Son” Concrete Company. Alice is portrayed as being the “son” her father wanted.

The Value Engineers
The Value Engineers is a global strategic brand consultancy based in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire in the UK and Manhattan, New York City. The company employs around fifty consultants and has been part of the Cello Group plc since 2005.
History
The Value Engineers was founded in 1986 by Graham Harding and Paul Walton, and celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2011.
Harding began as a graduate trainee with Longman Group (now Pearson Group) in 1974 after studying at the University of Cambridge and worked there until 1984 in Harlow, Edinburgh and London. He went on to become Publishing Director, as well as setting up Longman’s first software development unit. He later moved to London advertising agency, The Creative Business in 1984, where he was Account Director for two years before establishing The Value Engineers in 1986.
Walton studied Modern History at Brasenose College, Oxford, before moving into advertising. After spells at French Gold Abbot and Young and Rubicam, he joined The Creative Business as Director of Planning and Research, before finally co-founding The Value Engineers with Harding.

Ridley Scott
Sir Ridley Scott (born 30 November 1937) is an English film director and producer. Following his commercial breakthrough with the science-fiction horror film Alien (1979), his better-known works are the neo-noir dystopian science fiction film Blade Runner (1982), crime drama Thelma & Louise (1991), historical drama and Best Picture Oscar winner Gladiator (2000), war film Black Hawk Down (2001), crime thriller Hannibal (2001), biographical film American Gangster (2007), and science fiction films Prometheus (2012) and The Martian (2015).
Scott is known for his atmospheric, highly concentrated visual style. Future Engineers
Future Engineers are a Scottish based Drum and Bass duo consisting of Lee Batchelor and Keir Cleminson.
Having released on popular D&B labels such as LTJ Bukem's Good Looking Records, Partisan and 720 Degrees, Future Engineers established a reputation as a prolific and highly talented production duo. Initially drawing their musical inspiration from the atmospheric side of Drum and Bass, the duo diverged to develop an innovative and more techno influenced approach within their tracks - but always retaining their trademark musicality. Since 2002 Future Engineers have not been producing full-time, which has affected their level of musical output, but they have continued to DJ regularly within the Drum and Bass scene both in the UK and in Europe. Following the end of their long term affiliation with Good Looking Records in 2006, Future Engineers began to release a range of material on other labels, most recently on their own Transference Recordings.

This is why a timeframe of 2000 years is specified in the movies. "If the planet went wrong, they would want to wipe it clean. But that could take 500 years. When they revisit – because different visitors would come back and see we’re not doing so well – they would look at these human beings that are jerks, that are killing the planet, killing themselves, not able to settle down, they’re like a bunch of children. We should wipe it clean." Following on, Ridley explains that David has no respect for Engineers or Humanity and actually have developed a hatred of their species collectively: He hates them. He has no respect for Engineers and no respect for human beings. David’s quate fron Alien Covenant seems to confirm what Ridley talked about. “They are a dying species, grasping for resurrection. So they are leaving the earth forever.”David continues, “But their power is an illusion. They don’t deserve to start again, and I’m not going to let them.” o At first I thought that David adresses to humans, but it’s more likely the reference to the Engineers and their many visits in the past to Earth. that’s why David says "leaving the Earth forever” so he’s not speaking about humans, he clearly implies Engeneers. The word forever is key here, since humans are not close to leaving the Earth forever even though they are colonizing other planets. I think it is possible that when he says they are leaving the Earth forever that he means they meant to wipe it clean as they see Earth as a failed experiment and will never return. Another interesting moment in Alien Covenant is when David looks at dead Engineers covered in Black Goo he says "Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!" The film features a catchy jingle by pop impresario Jim Guthrie. *: The point at which a given species cedes planetary control to robots or machines. Production notes: This film was produced by Superbrothers in 2006 before the establishment of Superbrothers Inc., but it was not until after incorporation that the film was eventually released. Critical reception of the film was positive, although most felt that the aim of the film was less lofty than its acclaimed predecessor THE CHILDREN OF THE CLONE, and that its creators had gone soft, already drifting from their revolutionary roots. Interestingly, the film caught the attention of a number of internet web logs, leading to criticism by the notoriously tech savvy internet web log users, who responded harshly to home viewings of the film with comments like these: "Lame. Stupid. Fail. The depiction of Computer Systems of each period are so innacurate as to be totally misleading." or worse, "Lame on SOOOO many levels. Not even deinterlaced properly, which is amazing considering it's trying to look 8-bit. I was wondering how this crap got voted up, then saw, of course, Mr.BabyMan's fan army voted it up".

Space Engineer is like a mixture between Minecraft and Kerbal Space Program.
The main purpose of the game seems to be building a space fleet and fight/ally with the other factions. You build your ships piece by piece and the only know limit for the size of your ship is what you computer can handle.

One major question many of us had after watching Alien: Covenant was concerning the motives behind David and his relationship with Engineers and Mankind. What ...
One major question many of us had after watching Alien: Covenant was concerning the motives behind David and his relationship with Engineers and Mankind. What could be better than getting the answer from the creator of Alien Franchise Ridley Scott him-self? So In The Crossing prolog video, David voice-overs, explaining that while Shaw slept, he learned of the Engineer ways. it kinda hard to tell what exactly David meant by Engineer way, their history. philosophy or science. Following this, we then see David approach the Engineer city and proceed to bomb them using the Black Goo. Many of us speculated as to why David felt the need to destroy Engineers and many wondered what he might have learned about their culture to instigate such a reaction. Fortunately, during a podcast with Empire Magazine, Ridley Scott explained the motives behind the Engineer race and why David bombed them. If you want you can listen to the entire podcast, the link in the description but I’m gonna summarize the main point in this video.

what alien covenant means for the alien franchise.
According to Scott, the Engineers periodically visit worlds they've seeded with life and occasionally will "wipe the planet clean" if they discover their offspring have lost their way. Much like the catastrophes described in biblical times when God grew tired of Mankind, just like Engineers, he would eliminate entire generations of species if they proved to be a disappointment. If you remeber, in Prometheus, the crew discovered the Engenerr ship in 2093 and they determined that the ship is about 2000 years old. So for some reason Engeneers wanted to destroy humanity but changed thier minds around the time when people discovered faith and Christianity. It is a major theme in the movie, Elizabeth really cares about her cross necklace and at some point asks David to give it back to her.
Also Scott has said that the more specific details he had in mind, was that the Engineers tried to set us back on the right path. First by sending a missary to Earth about 2000 years ago to help guide us. That missary would be Jesus Christ. Unfortunately we end up crucifying him, but we obtained a faith in return, so Engineers decided to give humanity another chance and did not send the deadly virus. This is why a timeframe of 2000 years is specified in the movies.
"If the planet went wrong, they would want to wipe it clean. But that could take 500 years. When they revisit – because different visitors would come back and see we’re not doing so well – they would look at these human beings that are jerks, that are killing the planet, killing themselves, not able to settle down, they’re like a bunch of children. We should wipe it clean."
Following on, Ridley explains that David has no respect for Engineers or Humanity and actually have developed a hatred of their species collectively:
He hates them. He has no respect for Engineers and no respect for human beings.
David’s quate fron Alien Covenant seems to confirm what Ridley talked about.
“They are a dying species, grasping for resurrection. So they are leaving the earth forever.”David continues, “But their power is an illusion. They don’t deserve to start again, and I’m not going to let them.” o At first I thought that David adresses to humans, but it’s more likely the reference to the Engineers and their many visits in the past to Earth. that’s why David says "leaving the Earth forever” so he’s not speaking about humans, he clearly implies Engeneers. The word forever is key here, since humans are not close to leaving the Earth forever even though they are colonizing other planets. I think it is possible that when he says they are leaving the Earth forever that he means they meant to wipe it clean as they see Earth as a failed experiment and will never return.
Another interesting moment in Alien Covenant is when David looks at dead Engineers covered in Black Goo he says
"Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
This is a reference to Shelley's proverbial sonnet Ozymandias

Following an early morning status check of their vintage electronic equipment, two computer engineers "throw down" in an awkward dance-off that innacurately echoes the development of information technolgy and the internet from 1951 up to the present day. The film features a catchy jingle by pop impresario Jim Guthrie.
*: The point at which a given species cedes planetary control to robots or machines.
Production notes: This film was produced by Superbrothers in 2006 before the establishment of Superbrothers Inc., but it was not until after incorporation that the film was eventually released. Critical reception of the film was positive, although most felt that the aim of the film was less lofty than its acclaimed predecessor THE CHILDREN OF THE CLONE, and that its creators had gone soft, already drifting from their revolutionary roots.
Interestingly, the film caught the attention of a number of internet web logs, leading to criticism by the notoriously tech savvy internet web log users, who responded harshly to home viewings of the film with comments like these: "Lame. Stupid. Fail. The depiction of Computer Systems of each period are so innacurate as to be totally misleading." or worse, "Lame on SOOOO many levels. DOT MATRIX REVOLUTION v BOW BEFORE THE CLOUD
Following an early morning status check of their vintage electronic equipment, two computer engineers "throw down" in an awkward dance-off that innacurately echoes the development of information technolgy and the internet from 1951 up to the present day. The film features a catchy jingle by pop impresario Jim Guthrie.

Production notes: This film was produced by Superbrothers in 2006 before the establishment of Superbrothers Inc., but it was not until after incorporation that the film was eventually released. Critical reception of the film was positive, although most felt that the aim of the film was less lofty than its acclaimed predecessor THE CHILDREN OF THE CLONE, and that its creators had gone soft, already drifting from their revolutionary roots.
Interestingly, the film caught the attention of a number of internet web logs, leading to criticism by the notoriously tech savvy internet web log users, who responded harshly to home viewings of the film with comments like these: "Lame. Stupid. Fail. The depiction of Computer Systems of each period are so innacurate as to be totally misleading." or worse, "Lame on SOOOO many levels. The creative team from NVIDIA, the worldwiede leader in visual computing and inventor of the GPU, commissioned us once again to help them explain a new product, the GRID vGPU. The challenge this time was to create an explanation video that showed all the main features in about 60 seconds and could also work at conferences without a voice over, as well as online. To transmit the message in any situation we developed a system of labels and on-screen text transitions, that communicate everything without missing any part of the message. The video was displayed after the launch during the VMWorld Conference at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
