Tottenham Hotspur are thought to have made contact with representatives of OGC NIce midfielder Jean Michael Seri.

The claims emanate from RMC Sport journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi, who tweeted on Monday that the Premier League side are keen on the Ivorian international - and they're not the only ones, with Spurs' north London rivals Arsenal also said to be interested in the player.

Nice are expected to entertain a number of bids for the 25-year-old who helped his side finish third in Ligue 1 last season, with offers from all over Europe likely.

Manager Lucien Favre has the security of a release clause embedded into Seri's contract, but that could matter for little if his suitors are genuinely keen.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino will be looking to add to his numbers and Monday's tweet from Bouhafsi will certainly get tongues wagging amongst the Lilywhites faithful.

However, the north Londoners will be coy on any further signings from France's elite. Wingers Clinton N'Jie and Georges-Kevin N'Koudou joined from Lyon and Marseille, but never made the grade at White Hart Lane.
