Mount Takao
Mount Takao (高尾山, Takao-san) is a mountain in the city of Hachiōji, Tokyo, Japan. It is protected within Meiji no Mori Takao Quasi-National Park.
Standing 599 metres (1,965 ft) tall and located within an hour of downtown Tokyo, it is a popular hiking spot, with eight hiking courses and more than 2.5 million annual visitors. The Tama Forest Science Garden is also located at the mountain's base.
Mount Takao is closely associated with tengu, minor kami from Japanese folklore, and the daitengu Naigubu. A Buddhist temple, Takaosan Yakuōin Yūkiji, is located on the mountain.
Climbing Mount Takao
Visitors to Mount Takao can choose to start climbing from the base, or take a funicular or ropeway ride halfway up the mountain. The Takaotozan Railway operates both of these services. The system nominally has four stations—two each for the funicular and the ropeway. However, the distance between the pairs of stations is only a few dozen metres (at the base of the mountain) and approximately 150 metres (at the top of the services, which are themselves about a 30-minute scenic uphill walk from the top of Mount Takao itself), so they can essentially both be thought of as coming from and going to the same place.

５月の高尾山。６号路（びわ滝コース）を通って山頂を目指します。「前の沢」の水音を聞きながら新緑の中を進むと、滝行をするびわ滝が見えてきます。急な斜面を上り、沢の中の飛び石をつたって歩けば、頂上は間近です。

Mt. Takao, the Michelin's three starred attraction in western Tokyo, has several trails that lead up to its top. On a sunny day in May we took the trail no. 6, which passes the Biwa Fall. The trail is popular to young (school children on field trip) and old alike who all enjoy walk under the fresh green.

SONY NEX-VG30 test filming at Takao-san (Mt. Takao) in Tokyo, Japan on the 9th February 2016. It was a really nice day for hiking. Many foreigner were there especially Chinese because of the Lunar New Year. Takao-san is one of the most popular directions for visitors because it takes only an hour from the center of Tokyo by train. If you are very lucky, you can see Mt. Fuji from the top of Takao-san. Also, a new hot spring site just opened recently so you better try this after you finish hiking. It's very close from Takao-sanguchi train station.
