Tim Cahill saw nothing in the Socceroos' first-up loss to Germany to suggest their Confederations Cup is over, backing Australia to still reach the semi- finals.
The Socceroos were 3-2 losers against the world champions in their first outing in Russia.

Socceroos push Germany close in Confederations Cup
Despite conceding an early goal, the Socceroos came back before falling behind to lose 3-2 to the reigning World Cup champions.
Next up is Cameroon on Thursday night (Friday 1:00am AEST) in St Petersburg.
The African champions were beaten by tournament favourites Chile 2-0 on Sunday.
Such are the fine margins at FIFA tournaments, a loss would end Australia or Cameroon's hopes of qualification.
Cahill - Australia's all-time leading scorer - had little time to influence the contest with Germany, thrown into the fray in the 86th minute.
What he saw from the bench has convinced him there's enough fight in the Socceroos' side to triumph against Cameroon.
"I'm proud of the boys," he said. "Obviously we want to win the game (but there were) just a few key moments there where we conceded goals.
"I thought we played really well."
He said Australia were "100 per cent" still in the tournament, despite never progressing from their group at FIFA or AFC level when they've lost the opening game.
"(We've taken) no points but we can take the fact that we played really well," he said.
"To score two goals away from home in a competition like this is exceptional. I suppose it was a good game to watch but disappointing to lose.
"We had a good opportunity to win the game, in the end they were the better team, scoring three goals."
While they weren't punished on the scoreboard during a one-way first half, Australia battled back into the contest in Sochi.
Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou insisted he would continue to employ his 3-2-4-1 system, which has its share of critics.
"There's no question we're a team full of character and courage," he said. "We're trying to play a certain way against the very best. It's not easy to do.
"They're putting themselves out there and testing themselves as we want them to. We'll continue to do that."
Given their next match is just three days later, Postecoglou signalled his intent to rotate his squad against Cameroon.
"We've got to travel now and we've got a day less rest than Cameroon," he said. "We've got to make sure everyone recovers well.
"I don't think there are any injuries at this stage.
"We'll make some decisions in the next 48 hours."
