Keep thinking about why Shizuru and Natsuki are a good couple and I think it has to do with their personalities. Natsuki is a head strong girl that isn't good with emotions and becomes a little submissive, which Shizuru pushes often. But she has a subborn point which pushes her to be more honest with Shizuru, with kisses and such.

Shizuru on the other hand is crazy in love and sometimes goes crazy, which requires Natsuki to reel her back in. She's more open about her love which is something Natsuki appreciates I think.

They complement each other, in a way I guess is what I'm trying to say.

They are very balanced and it's more equal than a lot of other pairings in terms of power dynamics.

Natsuki has a spine unlike other yuri girls in a relationship with a more mature strong type. And Shizuru for all her perfections really just wants to be loved and is very selfish underneath it all. Both are very human.

Automne was great. I liked it better than Ete (although Ete wasn't bad). There was so much good angst and suffering, followed by an incredibly cathartic end I cried. There were lots of parallels to Sei/Shiori from Marimite, and Flowers is obviously influenced by Marimite, so to me this felt like it was the authors' send-up of that pairing, except Nerine actually meets Yuzuriha in the end and they follow through with their plan to elope.

Also it helps to go through the campaigns. Tons of characters and levels to unlock in the single player that are still good even with all the new content added. Set it to casual if you don't want to suffer too much and once you unlock Yuuki beating the rest of the campaigns is simple. I suggest holding control when playing single player to speed through the turns.

To unlock all non dlc characters:

(Suguri, QP, Kai, Marc) are all available at the beginning - once you choose one and finish the campaign with that character the other three unlock in the shop.

(Hime, Mariepoppo, Peat, Fernet, Yuuki, Aru) can all be unlocked and purchased from the shop by going through each campaign on stages 2 through 4. Depending on which campaign you started with you might get these in any order

Clearing stage 5 with any character unlocks Sora.

Beating all campaigns and extra missions will unlock Tomomo Hell wherein you fight 3 copies of the final boss Tomomo. Beat that and you unlock Tomomo who will help with clearing expert difficulty but is softened for online play. Still good though.

Enemy characters are all unlocked in the shop via increasing your level in multiplayer - this includes Chicken, Seagull, Roboball and the bosses: Store Manager, Shifu Robot, and Flying Castle.
