Abdul Wahhab

Abdul Wahab (Arabic: عبد الوهاب ‎) is a male Muslim given name, and in modern usage, surname. It is built from the Arabic words Abd, al- and Wahab. The name means "servant of the all-giver", Al-Wahāb being one of the names of God in the Qur'an, which give rise to the Muslim theophoric names.

The letter a of the al- is unstressed, and can be transliterated by almost any vowel, often by u. The last element may appear as Wahab, Wahhab, Vehhab, Ouahab, and others with the whole name subject to variable spacing and hyphenation.

Tariq Jameel

Tariq Jameel (born 1 January 1953), commonly referred to as Maulana Tariq Jameel, is a Pakistani religious and Islamic scholar, preacher, and public speaker from Tulamba near Mian Channu in Khanewal, Punjab He is a member of Tablighi Jamaat and a Deobandi scholar who runs a Madrasa in Faisalabad, Pakistan. He is listed as a popular speaker in the 2013/2014 edition of the book The Muslim 500.

Education and career

Tariq Jameel received his Islamic education from Jamia Arabia, Raiwind. He frequently visits places to deliver Islamic speeches at rallies in which he preaches peace and harmony, tolerance and respect for everyone. He promotes ethnic and sectarian harmony.

Tariq Jameel's lectures incorporate a wide range of issues of Islam and social concern. He especially emphasizes on self-rectification, self-accountability, honesty in social life, avoidance of violent ways, observance of God's commands, and the following of the teachings and the model of life as suggested by Islamic prophet Muhammad. In May 2014, the International Human Rights Commission Chief Ambassador met Tariq Jameel along with Asad Bashir and Veena Malik at Dubai and thanked him for promoting the true picture of Islam.

Muhammad Abdul Wahhab

Haji Muhammad Abdul Wahhab (Urdu: حاجی محمد عبد الوہاب‎, Ḥājī Muḥammad ‘Abdul-Wahhāb; born January 1, 1923) is an Islamic preacher and the Ameer of Tablighi Jamaat in Pakistan.

Early years and education

Muhammad Abdul Wahhab was born in Delhi, British India, in 1922. He originally hails from Saharanpur District Utter Pradesh. He attended Islamia College, Lahore. After graduation he worked as a tehsildar in pre-partition India. In his youth he also worked for Majlis-e-Ahrar-e-Islam, and was influenced by Abdul Qadir Raipuri (1878–1962).

Career

Tabligh Jamaat

Abdul Wahhab joined the Tabligh Jamaat during the life of its founder, Muhammad Ilyas Kandhlawi. His first day at Nizamuddin was in 1944. He got the sohbah of Maulana Ilyas for six months. He left his job to devote his time and effort to the Jamaat, and he was one of the first five people in Pakistan who offered their entire life for doing Tabligh work. He was a direct companion of Maulana Muhammad Ilyas Kandhlawi, Yusuf Kandhlawi, and Inamul Hasan Kandhlawi.

Hajji Abdol

Hajji Abdol (Persian: حاجي عبدل‎‎, also Romanized as Ḩājjī ‘Abdol and Ḩājī ‘Abdol; also known as Hāji ‘Abdul) is a village in Zu ol Faqr Rural District, Sarshiv District, Saqqez County, Kurdistan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 362, in 66 families.
