Police say the man has not yet been identified but it is believed he might have been living and sleeping in his vehicle opposite a park on Mons Avenue.
Superintendent Karen McCarthy, the Commander of the Eastern Beaches Local Area Command, urged any witnesses in the area on Wednesday night to come forward.
"The male person appeared to have a number of injuries and police are treating his death as suspicious," she said.
"We have not identified the male person at this stage. We do believe he has been living and sleeping in the motor vehicle for the past couple of weeks. We have no motive for the death of the man."
A crime scene has been established and investigations with the Homicide Squad are continuing.
The 1990s model Ford Laser the man was found in has been seized for forensic examination and police have cordoned off a large area near the scene, including parts nearby Broadarrow Reserve.Â
