The Scottish Football Association Challenge Cup, commonly known as the Scottish Cup, is an annual association football knock-out cup competition for men's football clubs in Scotland. The competition was first held in 1873–74. Entry is open to all clubs with full or associate membership of the Scottish Football Association (SFA). The competition is called the William Hill Scottish Cup for sponsorship reasons.
The trophy that is presented to the winner of the competition is the oldest in association football and is also the oldest national trophy in the world. It was first presented to Queen's Park, who won the final match of the inaugural tournament in March 1874. The current holder is Inverness Caledonian Thistle, who won the tournament for the first time by defeating Falkirk 2–1 in the 2015 final.
The tournament starts at the beginning of the Scottish football season in August or September. The Scottish Cup Final is usually the last game of the season, taking place at the end of May. Participating teams enter the tournament at different stages depending on their league ranking. The lowest ranked clubs enter the tournament at the first round whilst the highest ranked, those that compete in the Scottish Premiership, enter at the fourth round stage.

The FA Cup Final, commonly referred to in England as just the Cup Final, is the last match in the Football Association Challenge Cup. With an official attendance of 89,826 at the 2007 FA Cup Final, it is the fourth best attended domestic club championship event in the world and the second most attended domestic football event. It is the culmination of a knockout competition among clubs belonging to The Football Association in England, although Scottish and Irish teams competed in the early years and Welsh teams regularly compete, with Cardiff City winning the Cup in 1927 and reaching the final in 2008.
The latest FA Cup Final was the final of the 2014-2015 Season which was held on 30 May 2015 at Wembley Stadium and played between Arsenal and Aston Villa with Arsenal winning 4-0 to retain the trophy after their win against Hull City in the previous final.
Early FA Cup Finals were held mainly in London at venues including Kennington Oval between 1874 and 1892 and Crystal Palace between 1895 and 1914. In the period from 1923 until 2000, the final was held at Wembley Stadium, English football's national stadium. From 2001–2005, the final was moved to Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, during the rebuilding of Wembley Stadium. Millennium Stadium was used again in 2006 due to construction delays in opening the new Wembley Stadium.
The Scottish Football Association Challenge Cup, commonly known as the Scottish Cup, is a knockout cup competition in Scottish football. Organised by the Scottish Football Association, it is the third oldest existing football competition in the world, having commenced in the 1873–74 season just two years after the first FA Cup. The winners are awarded the world's oldest trophy, minted in 1885.
Celtic hold the record for most wins with 36 and the most final appearances with 54; Rangers are second with 33 wins and 51 appearances. Inverness Caledonian Thistle are the current holders, having beaten Falkirk 2–1 in the 2015 final.

William Hill Scottish Cup 2017-18 | Preliminary Draw
Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic crowned an incredible year by winning their first treble since 2001 in the week where Celtic celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Lisbon Lions triumph of 1967. The Celtic fans had to wait until the 91st minute for the win to be secured after being pushed all the way by a determined Aberdeen team who came flying out the starting blocks and opened the scoring. Stuart Armstrong hit back with an equaliser immediately and after a game which swung like a pendulum, Tom Rogic went on a marauding run and slotted the ball home at Joe Lewis’ near post.
It took a 91st minute goal from Tom Rogic to get Celtic over the line against Aberdeen who finished second just like all season. Celtic have now completed a domestic triple and gone the entire season undefeated domestically.
Hibernian ended a 114-year wait to lift the William Hill Scottish Cup with a 3-2 victory over Rangers at Hampden Park. David Gray’s injury-time header sealed a remarkable comeback for Alan Stubbs’ team, who had been trailing with ten minutes to go.
A 2-0 victory over rivals Rangers sees Celtic progress to the Scottish Cup Final. Callum McGregor opened the scoring against Rangers with a slick side foot finish before Scott Sinclair converted a penalty.

Celtic v Aberdeen Celtic 2-1 Aberdeen Saturday 27th May 2017 The 2017 Scottish Cup Final Celtic completed a domestic treble without losing a game as Tom Rogic fired in a stoppage-time goal against Aberdeen to win the Scottish Cup. A beautifully controlled half-volley from Jonny Hayes after nine minutes was reward for a fine Dons start. But Celtic were level within two minutes as Stuart Armstrong was given too much time to pick out the far corner from the edge of the box. Late Celtic pressure paid off as Rogic fired low past goalkeeper Joe Lewis. A thrilling 90 minutes concluded with Celtic not only lifting the cup for the first time since 2013 but becoming the first side in Scotland to complete an unbeaten treble. In my opinion there is nothing wrong with the pitch invasion. The problem was assaulting the Rangers players and trying to square go the Rangers fans. Those are the reasons Rangers fans came on to the park. I've decided to turn the comments off on this upload so it doesn't descend into the bitterness you'll find on all other videos from the day. Congratulations to Hibs. They deserve this for the season they've had. They've had a great season pushing the famous Glasgow Rangers all the way in the Scottish championship, narrowly missing out on promotion via the play offs, and beating a number of premiership teams in bot...

Full 90 mins, preamble and celebrations of the 100th Scottish Cup final. Celtic and Dundee United play a cagey first half but pulsating second, classic Davie Provan free kick, Danny McGrain gives a real captain's performance and even the commentary from Archie McPherson and Billy McNeill is excellent. As was the custom at the time the BBC show the extra time from the FA cup final between Man U and Everton as well. As some post match interviews.
