Quotes:
Brad Neary: I don't understand these fractions.::Roy Neary: What's one third of sixty?::Brad Neary: [bewildered] That's a fraction, I don't understand them.::Roy Neary: [using a model train as an object lesson] Alright, let's say that this boxcar is sixty feet long, OK?, and one third of it is across this switch here, alright... And now another train is coming... Now, how far do you have to move this boxcar so that the other train doesn't smash it? Quickly Brad, there are thousands of lives at stake... Brad any answer...::[CRASH]
Claude Lacombe: Major Walsh, it is an event sociologique.
[Roy is shoveling soil into his kitchen window]::Roy Neary: Ronnie, if I don't do this, *that's* when I'm going to need a doctor.
Claude Lacombe: Mr. Neary, what do you want?::Roy Neary: I just want to know that it's really happening.
Roy Neary: [contemplating the lump shape] This means something. This is important.
Roy Neary: I know this sounds crazy, but ever since yesterday on the road, I've been seeing this shape. Shaving cream, pillows... Dammit! I know this. I know what this is! This means something. This is important.
Roy Neary: I guess you've noticed something a little strange with Dad. It's okay, though. I'm still Dad.
[Roy's wife does not believe how he got the burns on his face]::Roy Neary: Well they're not moon burns, goddamnit.
Barry Guiler: You can come and play now.
Roy Neary: [checking the paper] Hey, you know what's playing tonight? Pinocchio! You guys have never seen Pinocchio, you're in luck!::Brad Neary: Aw, who wants to see some dumb cartoon rated 'G' for kids?::Roy Neary: How old are you?::Brad Neary: Eight.::Roy Neary: You wanna be nine?::Brad Neary: Yeah.::Roy Neary: Then you're going to go see Pinocchio tomorrow night.::[Brad makes a disgusted gesture, but shuts up]::Ronnie Neary: Roy, that is a terrific way to win over your children.::Roy Neary: I'm not serious, I'm just saying that I grew up with Pinocchio, and if kids are still kids, they're going to eat it up.::[Ronnie looks at him in disgust]::Roy Neary: Okay, I'm wrong, all right? I'm Wrong Roy.::[Yells at his youngest son, who is demolishing his sister's doll]::Roy Neary: TOBY! You are close to death! Come out here!::[Toby giggles, but obeys]::Roy Neary: Okay, let's have a vote. Tomorrow night you can play Goofy Golf, which is a lot of standing in line and shoving and pushing, and probably getting a 'zero,' or you can see Pinocchio, which is a lot of furry animals and magic, and you'll have a wonderful time. Having already been tipped across the board for great things in 2007 Air Traffic return with a new single 'Charlotte' on March 26th. Taken from their as yet untitled & forthcoming debut album, 'Charlotte' is a breathtaking, dynamic and punchy burst of addictive anthemic rock that has quickly become a real fan favourite live, and sounds equally as powerful through the FM dial as it does through Marshall stacks.

--------
Like fireflies at night, or cars drifting over invisible roads in the sky. It’s simply amazing to see what airplanes look like when flying at night when shot at long exposures!
The Air Traffic is a personal timelapse project which I shot over a period of about 6 months.
One night while shooting a timelapse of lightning going off in the sky during a storm from my living room's window (00:18), I noticed little streaks of light moving across the frame.
Living about a 10-minute drive away from the airport, the streaks of light were none other than airplanes flying to and from the airport. Then it struck me - To do a whole timelapse sho...

Air Traffic Worldwide

Europe 24
This data visualization of Air Traffic in Europe was created from real flight data. It shows the air traffic which flies on a typical summer day and highlights the intensity of the operation in Europe - an operation which runs 24x7x365.
NATS and the UK are at the heart of the operation. With Heathrow as the busiest international airport in Europe, and Gatwick as the busiest single runway airport in the world, we play a key role in ensuring air traffic under our control in European airspace is as safe and efficient as it can be.

Here's my attempt at being the air traffic controller at the

--------
Like fireflies at night, or cars drifting over invisible roads in the sky.
Then it struck me -
To do a whole timelapse short film dedicated to airplanes flying at night.
Some of my favorite shots were captured when I got really close to the airport's runway where airplanes take off and land. That was where I managed to capture some pretty huge streaks of light as the airplanes got really close to ground level and ready to land.
The streaks of light are long exposures of the airplanes flying, about 8-15 seconds. Most of it was shot at
Changi Beach in
Singapore.

This data visualization of
Air Traffic in
Europe was created from real flight data. It shows the air traffic which flies on a typical summer day and highlights the intensity of the operation in Europe - an operation which runs 24x7x365.
NATS and the UK are at the heart of the operation. With
Heathrow as the busiest international airport in Europe, and
Gatwick as the busiest single runway airport in the world, we play a key role in ensuring air traffic under our control in
European airspace is as safe and efficient as it can be.

FACET is a simulation tool for exploring advanced air traffic management concepts.
An efficient and effective air traffic management system is vital to the U.S. transportation infrastructure. Since 1978, when the airline industry was deregulated, the inflation adjusted gross domestic product (GDP) has increased by 62 percent. In this same time period, total output of scheduled passenger air transportation (as measured by Revenue Passenger Miles) has increased by 190 percent and total airfreight ton miles have increased by 289 percent. Since 1997, flight delays have skyrocketed - doubling in only four years. These trends are expected to continue. In 1998, airline delays in the U.S. cost industry and passengers $4.5 billion -- the equivalent of a 7 percent tax on every doll...

Air Traffic - "Charlotte"
http://www.air-traffic.co.uk
Having already been tipped across the board for great things in 2007 Air Traffic return with a new single 'Charlotte' on March 26th. Taken from their as yet untitled & forthcoming debut album, 'Charlotte' is a breathtaking, dynamic and punchy burst of addictive anthemic rock that has quickly become a real fan favourite live, and sounds equally as powerful through the FM dial as it does through Marshall stacks.

Air Traffic - "Charlotte"
videos
http://www.air-traffic.co.uk
Having already been tipped across the board for great things in
2007 Air Traffic return with a new single '
Charlotte' on
March 26th.
Taken from their as yet untitled & forthcoming debut
album, 'Charlotte' is a breathtaking, dynamic and punchy burst of addictive anthemic rock that has quickly become a real fan favourite live, and sounds equally as powerful through the FM dial as it does through
Marshall stacks.

Flight Sim's Most STRESSFUL Job - Air Traffic Controller (Multiplayer)
videos
Here's my attempt at being the air traffic controller at the
Denver Int'l Airport in
FSX Multiplayer. I attempt to gain control of the airspace but fail rather tremendously as communication skills in the session collapse and the airport becomes swarmed by hot air balloons.
Enjoy!

TROLLING as an Air Traffic Controller in Flight Sim X! (Multiplayer)
videos
I join a random session in
FSX multiplayer and spawn as the air traffic controller at
Honolulu Int'l Airport (
PHNL). I immediately begin issuing
IFR clearances to the pilots in the session and provide a variety of copyright-free soundtracks to an
F-18 airshow taking place.
Enjoy!

The Air Traffic

--------
Like fireflies at night, or cars drifting over invisible roads in the sky.
