Allentown Central Catholic High School is a private, parochial school located at 301 North Fourth Street in Allentown, Pennsylvania, in the United States. Located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Allentown, ACCHS predominantly serves students from the Lehigh Valley region of the state.
ACCHS employs about 50[dated info] teaching staff making up 10 departments, as well as a library and guidance department. Students have options to take electives in Informational Technology, Visual Arts and Performing Arts (music, drama and choir). Lehigh Valley Christian High School (LVCHS) is a private, parochial, high school located in Catasauqua, Pennsylvania.
LVCHS was established in 1988 as a cooperative among three Lehigh Valley, Christian elementary schools -- Bethlehem Christian School, Lehigh Christian Academy, and Phillipsburg Christian Academy -- desiring a continuation of their education style from the ninth to the twelfth grades. However, according to the owner of the building, the school will soon lose it's lease on the building do to the fact that an atheist based medical charter school is to be soon placed in the building, becoming a school to nearly 350 students.
While located in and drawing students from Allentown, the students of LVCHS also come from other municipalities in the Lehigh Valley region of Pennsylvania and western New Jersey.
The current enrollment is 140.
Lehigh Valley Christian High School has earned accreditation from both the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and the Association of Christian Schools International, the latter of which the School is also a member. LVCHS is also a member of Mid-Atlantic Christian School Association.
Muhlenberg College is a private liberal arts college located in Allentown, Pennsylvania, United States. Founded in 1848, Muhlenberg is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and is named for Henry Melchior Muhlenberg, the patriarch of the Lutheran Church in America.
Muhlenberg College was initially established in 1848 as the Allentown Seminary by Reverend Samuel K. Brobst, a Reformed Lutheran minister. Reverend Christian Rudolph Kessler was the school's first teacher and administrator. Between 1848 and 1867, the entity that is today Muhlenberg College operated as the Allentown Seminary, the Allentown Collegiate and Military Institute and the Allentown Collegiate Institute. In 1867, the college moved into Trout Hall, the former mansion of William Allen's son, James Allen, and was renamed after Henry Melchior Muhlenberg, the patriarch of the Lutheran Church in America. Muhlenberg's great-grandson, Reverend Frederick Augustus Muhlenberg, served as president of the college from 1867 to 1876. In 1905, the college purchased and relocated to a 51-acre (21 ha) tract located in Allentown's West End, the site of today's campus. In 1910, seeing a need for evening study in the community, Muhlenberg College opened The Wescoe School and began offering adult education classes.
Our Lady Help of Christians (German) is a historic Catholic church at the corner of East Allegheny Avenue and Gaul Street in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and serves the German-speaking population in the area.
The parish was founded in 1885 and the church was constructed in 1898.[1]
