Brian Gardner

Brian Gardner, also known as Brian "Big Bass" Gardner is a mastering engineer. He has worked on a number of recordings since the mid-1960s, including classic rock, funk, disco, alternative rock, R&B, hip hop, pop punk, and dance-pop. He is perhaps best known for his work on hip hop albums and in particular in his collaborations with Dr. Dre.

He is currently employed at Bernie Grundman Mastering, a mastering house founded and run by Bernie Grundman.

Gardner has been awarded seven Grammy nominations six of which were for Album Of The Year and one Grammy win for Album of the Year (SpeakerBox - Outkast).

Epiphany (Chrisette Michele album)

Epiphany is the second studio album by American R&B and soul singer–songwriter Chrisette Michele, released May 5, 2009 on Def Jam Recordings in the United States. Recording sessions for the album took place during 2008 to 2009. In January 2009, the title track "Epiphany" was released as its lead single.

Epiphany debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart, while selling 83,000 copies in its first week. Upon its release, the album received generally positive reviews from music critics, based on an aggregate score of 71/100 from Metacritic.

Background

Chrisette Michele told Billboard's Mariel Concepcion that her new album would be "more upbeat and youthful". Production for the album was handled by Chuck Harmony, Claude Kelly, Bei Maejor, and Ne-Yo.

Michele says one of her favorite tracks is the piano-based "Blame It on Me", in which she croons, "Blame it on me/Say it's my fault/Say I left you out in the cold with a broken heart/I really don't care/I'm not crying no more/Say I'm a liar, a cheater, say anything that you want/As long as it's over." "On My Own", Michele says, reminds her of her father. "I'm very close to my dad, but recently I've learned how to handle situations on my own, without having him step in for me, and it took a lot of me to be able to do that", she admits.

The Young Punx are an English-based electronic dance music group whose eclectic and energetic style encompasses french house, breakbeat and drum and bass, mashed up with elements as diverse as 1980s pop music, hard rock, disco and glam rock.

The Young Punx's music is created by producer, multi-instrumentalist and singer Hal Ritson in collaboration with an eclectic collective of guest musicians, producers and singers including Italian electro producer Phonat, virtuoso guitarist Guthrie Govan, co-founder of the act Cameron Saunders, DJ Nathan Taylor and vocalists such as Yolanda Quartey of Massive Attack, Count Bass D, Amanda Palmer and Laura Kidd of She Makes War. The Young Punx' music "appeals to people who not only like to rave, but also for those who just dance to have fun". In addition, they are continuing their debut album Your Music Is Killing Me, which started in 2007. This debut album not only strengthened their position within the modern realm of remixers and dancefloor musicians, but also catapulted their music into further publicity. This also helped the band's role into becoming an actual band. The Young Punx's energizing beats and grooves are also referred to as "mashpop and punkstep" by The Young Punx themselves.
