Bus rolls at Ardmona: One dead, 12 injured after collision with taxi

One passenger has died and 12 others have been injured after a collision between a mini bus and a taxi in the state's north.

Police believe the taxi T-boned the bus about 3.30pm at the intersection of Pyke and Turnbull roads at Ardmona, near Shepparton.

One dead after bus rolls at Ardmona

A further 12 people have been injured following a collision between a mini bus and a taxi in Victoria's north. Vision: Seven News Melbourne.

The mini bus was carrying 12 adult passengers at the time of the crash.

The taxi had two passengers.

A female passenger from the bus died at the scene, a police spokeswoman said.

The male taxi driver stopped at the scene and is assisting police with inquiries.

Two air ambulances were sent to the scene.

A woman in her 80s was flown to The Royal Melbourne Hospital with head, pelvis and facial injuries, while another woman in her 90s was flown to The Alfred hospital with arm and head injuries, an Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said.

Their conditions and injuries are still unknown.

Six others, including a woman in her 70s, were taken to the Goulburn Valley hospital.

Four more continue to be treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Police are still at the scene.

The death brings the state's road toll to 115, compared with 134 for the same time last year.
