Man Tasered after forcing way into Canning Vale child care centre

An "erratic and aggressive" man had to be Tasered by police when he broke into a Canning Vale child care centre on Tuesday afternoon.

At around 5.25pm, the man forced his way through the door of the Early Learning Centre Summer Pines on Comrie Road while staff, parents and children were still inside.

It is understood he trashed the inside of the centre, and child care centre staff contacted police.

Police Sergeant Andrew Maher said attending officers eventually located the man in the rear playground and attempted to subdue him.

"The man was erratic and aggressive... a Taser was deployed," he said.

"No children, staff or parents were hurt."

The 21-year-old Bull Creek man was arrested and taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital. It is alleged he was affected by drugs at the time of the incident.

He has been charged with aggravated burglary and criminal damage, and he will appear in the Armadale Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
