The movie itself is full of symbolism, each character having a different meaning behind them. For example: Detective Loki
is the society trying to uncover the truth, meanwhile Keller is the exact opposite, he is the person that does not believe
in the law, and is trying to take matter into his own hands, while crossing the line and becoming the villain.
Holly Jones, or the kidnapper is the War against God, as mentioned in multiple scenes throughout the movie.
Alex Jones and Bob Taylor are the Prisoners, as they are trapped in the maze of their own heads, unable to escape.
So Holly and her husband used to be Christians, as said in the movie, they would "spread the good word". However, after
their son died of cancer, they turned against God started kidnapping and killing children.
Holly's husband actually paid a visit to the priest, confessing about his murders, and ended up killed and then kept
in the priest's basement, where he is found by Det. Loki, later in the movie.
After losing her husband, Holly Jones states that she started keeping children, instead of killing them, because she felt
lonely. One of her victims is Bobby Taylor, who managed to escape, and the other one being Alex Jones.
Anna and Joy were taken when Holly found them playing in the RV with Alex. Although we think Alex is guilty, it is later
revealed in the movie that he never laid a hand on them, and that it was his aunt who decided they should stay.
Alex Jones was being drugged regularly, explaining his behavior and his IQ of a 10-year old. While being tortured by
Keller, he wouldn't speak because he was in a state of mind that Holly created over the years, he IS the prisoners of
this movie and he's trapped in the maze of his own mind, which does not allow him to tell Keller the truth. Being tortured
by Keller only traumatizes him even more.
Bobby Taylor was also abducted and drugged by Holly as a child, but managed to get away. Even tho he escaped the vicious
grips of Holly Jones, he was never able to be free because of the trauma he experience while being kidnapped.
As the police mention it later in the movie, Bobby was imitating a book's behavior called "Finding The invisible man"
His obsesseion with mazes and going to the candle service is all his mind trying to reinterpretate what happened to him.
And also, he's the one that sneaked into Dover's and Birch's houses and stole a couple of their clothes, he was still trapped
in the maze after all the years of abuse caused by Holly, that he was actually protecting them.
A maze book is found and it says "Finish all the mazes and you can go home" This is given to the abducted children
to mess with their minds, because the mazes in the book are unsolvable, which explains Bob Taylor's maze.
Bob tries to help the police, but his damaged mind does not allow him to give out actual information.
When Loki gets aggressive during interrogation and asks for specific answers, Bob says
“I can’t …” and kills himself. Actual MK slaves are often programmed to commit suicide in these types of situations.
So after Alex returns to his family and the girls are found, there is only one real Prisoner, and that is Keller.
He crosses the line between goond and evil and dehumanizes himself by becoming an abductor.
He becomes a prisoner, not only because he turned into a kidnapper, but also because he will go to jail for torturing
an innocent man.
As I said before, the movie is full of symbolic stuff, such as the snakes, the mazes and Detective Loki's tattoos and
celtic ring, they are not explained throughout the movie and it is totally open to interpretation that they have a
story and a meaning behind them, we just don't know what exactly they mean.

Prisoner
A prisoner, also known as an inmate or detainee, is a person who is deprived of liberty against his or her will. This can be by confinement, captivity, or by forcible restraint. The term applies particularly to those on trial or serving a prison sentence in a prison.
English law
"Prisoner" is a legal term for a person who is imprisoned.
In section 1 of the Prison Security Act 1992, the word "prisoner" means any person for the time being in a prison as a result of any requirement imposed by a court or otherwise that he be detained in legal custody.
"Prisoner" was a legal term for a person prosecuted for felony. It was not applicable to a person prosecuted for misdemeanour. The abolition of the distinction between felony and misdemeanour by section 1 of the Criminal Law Act 1967 has rendered this distinction obsolete.
Glanville Williams described as "invidious" the practice of using the term "prisoner" in reference to a person who had not been convicted.
History
The earliest evidence of the existence of the prisoner dates back to 8,000 BC from prehistoric graves in Lower Egypt. This evidence suggests that people from Libya enslaved a San-like tribe.

Jake Gyllenhaal
Jacob Benjamin "Jake" Gyllenhaal (/ˈdʒɪlənhɔːl/ JIL-ən-hawl; born December 19, 1980) is an American actor. The son of director Stephen Gyllenhaal and screenwriter Naomi Foner, Gyllenhaal began acting at the age of ten. Following his first lead role in October Sky (1999), he starred in the indie cult hit Donnie Darko (2001), in which he played a psychologically troubled teenager alongside his older sister, Maggie Gyllenhaal. Top Five is a 2014 American comedy film written and directed by Chris Rock. The film, which stars Rock, Rosario Dawson, and Gabrielle Union, was screened in the Special Presentations section of the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival. The movie follows New York City comedian and film star Andre Allen (Rock), who has to confront his past and comedic career while doing an interview with journalist Chelsea Brown (Dawson). The film was released on December 12, 2014, by Paramount Pictures.
Plot
New York Times reporter Chelsea Brown is spending a day interviewing comedian and recovering alcoholic Andre Allen, star of the hit film franchise Hammy The Bear, about a cop in a bear suit. He is attempting a foray into serious films with Uprize, in which he portrays Haitian Revolution figure Dutty Boukman, and sensitive to criticism, particularly by Times critic James Nielson, whose previous reviews of Andre's work have been negative and insulting. As the interview begins in his limousine, Andre recalls his lowest point, when he was in Houston in 2003 and met Jazzy Dee, who supplied him with drugs, alcohol and women. Yet after Jazzy refused to pay the women, they contended they were raped, leading to Andre's arrest.

Hugh Jackman
Hugh Michael Jackman (born 12 October 1968) is an Australian actor, singer, and producer. Jackman has won international recognition for his roles in major films, notably as superhero, period, and romance characters. He is best known for his long-running role as Wolverine in the X-Men film series, as well as for his lead roles in the romantic-comedy fantasy Kate & Leopold (2001), the action-horror film Van Helsing (2004), the magic-themed drama The Prestige (2006), the epic historical romantic drama Australia (2008), the sci-fi sports drama Real Steel (2011), the film version of Les Misérables (2012), and the thriller Prisoners (2013). The movie itself is full of symbolism, each character having a different meaning behind them. For example: Detective Loki is the society trying to uncover the truth, meanwhile Keller is the exact opposite, he is the person that does not believe in the law, and is trying to take matter into his own hands, while crossing the line and becoming the villain. Holly Jones, or the kidnapper is the War against God, as mentioned in multiple scenes throughout the movie. Alex Jones and Bob Taylor are the Prisoners, as they are trapped in the maze of their own heads, unable to escape. So Holly and her husband used to be Christians, as said in the movie, they would "spread the good word". However, after their son died of cancer, they turned against God started kidnapping and killing children. Holly's husband actually paid a visit to the priest, confessing about his murders, and ended up killed and then kept in the priest's basement, where he is found by Det. Loki, later in the movie. After losing her husband, Holly Jones states that she started keeping children, instead of killing them, because she felt lonely. One of her victims is Bobby Taylor, who managed to escape, and the other one being Alex Jones. Anna and Joy were taken when Holly found them playing in the RV with Alex. Although we think Alex is guilty, it is later revealed in the movie that he never laid a hand on them, and that it was his aunt who decided they should stay. Alex Jones was being drugged regularly, explaining his behavior and his IQ of a 10-year old. While being tortured by Keller, he wouldn't speak because he was in a state of mind that Holly created over the years, he IS the prisoners of this movie and he's trapped in the maze of his own mind, which does not allow him to tell Keller the truth. Being tortured by Keller only traumatizes him even more. Bobby Taylor was also abducted and drugged by Holly as a child, but managed to get away. Even tho he escaped the vicious grips of Holly Jones, he was never able to be free because of the trauma he experience while being kidnapped. As the police mention it later in the movie, Bobby was imitating a book's behavior called "Finding The invisible man" His obsesseion with mazes and going to the candle service is all his mind trying to reinterpretate what happened to him. And also, he's the one that sneaked into Dover's and Birch's houses and stole a couple of their clothes, he was still trapped in the maze after all the years of abuse caused by Holly, that he was actually protecting them. A maze book is found and it says "Finish all the mazes and you can go home" This is given to the abducted children to mess with their minds, because the mazes in the book are unsolvable, which explains Bob Taylor's maze. Bob tries to help the police, but his damaged mind does not allow him to give out actual information. When Loki gets aggressive during interrogation and asks for specific answers, Bob says “I can’t …” and kills himself. Actual MK slaves are often programmed to commit suicide in these types of situations. So after Alex returns to his family and the girls are found, there is only one real Prisoner, and that is Keller. He crosses the line between goond and evil and dehumanizes himself by becoming an abductor. He becomes a prisoner, not only because he turned into a kidnapper, but also because he will go to jail for torturing an innocent man. As I said before, the movie is full of symbolic stuff, such as the snakes, the mazes and Detective Loki's tattoos and celtic ring, they are not explained throughout the movie and it is totally open to interpretation that they have a story and a meaning behind them, we just don't know what exactly they mean. -

Holly Jones, or the kidnapper is the War against God, as mentioned in multiple scenes throughout the movie.
Alex Jones and Bob Taylor are the Prisoners, as they are trapped in the maze of their own heads, unable to escape.
So Holly and her husband used to be Christians, as said in the movie, they would "spread the good word". However, after
their son died of cancer, they turned against God started kidnapping and killing children.
Holly's husband actually paid a visit to the priest, confessing about his murders, and ended up killed and then kept
in the priest's basement, where he is found by Det. Loki, later in the movie.
After losing her husband, Holly Jones states that she started keeping children, instead of killing them, because she felt
lonely. One of her victims is Bobby Taylor, who managed to escape, and the other one being Alex Jones.
Anna and Joy were taken when Holly found them playing in the RV with Alex. Although we think Alex is guilty, it is later
revealed in the movie that he never laid a hand on them, and that it was his aunt who decided they should stay.
Alex Jones was being drugged regularly, explaining his behavior and his IQ of a 10-year old. While being tortured by
Keller, he wouldn't speak because he was in a state of mind that Holly created over the years, he IS the prisoners of
this movie and he's trapped in the maze of his own mind, which does not allow him to tell Keller the truth. Being tortured
by Keller only traumatizes him even more.
Bobby Taylor was also abducted and drugged by Holly as a child, but managed to get away. Even tho he escaped the vicious
grips of Holly Jones, he was never able to be free because of the trauma he experience while being kidnapped.
As the police mention it later in the movie, Bobby was imitating a book's behavior called "Finding The invisible man"
His obsesseion with mazes and going to the candle service is all his mind trying to reinterpretate what happened to him.
And also, he's the one that sneaked into Dover's and Birch's houses and stole a couple of their clothes, he was still trapped
in the maze after all the years of abuse caused by Holly, that he was actually protecting them.
A maze book is found and it says "Finish all the mazes and you can go home" This is given to the abducted children
to mess with their minds, because the mazes in the book are unsolvable, which explains Bob Taylor's maze.
Bob tries to help the police, but his damaged mind does not allow him to give out actual information.
When Loki gets aggressive during interrogation and asks for specific answers, Bob says
“I can’t …” and kills himself. Actual MK slaves are often programmed to commit suicide in these types of situations.
So after Alex returns to his family and the girls are found, there is only one real Prisoner, and that is Keller.
He crosses the line between goond and evil and dehumanizes himself by becoming an abductor.
He becomes a prisoner, not only because he turned into a kidnapper, but also because he will go to jail for torturing
an innocent man.
As I said before, the movie is full of symbolic stuff, such as the snakes, the mazes and Detective Loki's tattoos and
celtic ring, they are not explained throughout the movie and it is totally open to interpretation that they have a
story and a meaning behind them, we just don't know what exactly they mean.

The movie itself is full of symbolism, each character having a different meaning behind them. For example: Detective Loki
is the society trying to uncover the truth, meanwhile Keller is the exact opposite, he is the person that does not believe
in the law, and is trying to take matter into his own hands, while crossing the line and becoming the villain.
Holly Jones, or the kidnapper is the War against God, as mentioned in multiple scenes throughout the movie.
Alex Jones and Bob Taylor are the Prisoners, as they are trapped in the maze of their own heads, unable to escape.
So Holly and her husband used to be Christians, as said in the movie, they would "spread the good word". However, after
their son died of cancer, they turned against God started kidnapping and killing children.
Holly's husband actually paid a visit to the priest, confessing about his murders, and ended up killed and then kept
in the priest's basement, where he is found by Det. Loki, later in the movie.
After losing her husband, Holly Jones states that she started keeping children, instead of killing them, because she felt
lonely. One of her victims is Bobby Taylor, who managed to escape, and the other one being Alex Jones.
Anna and Joy were taken when Holly found them playing in the RV with Alex. Although we think Alex is guilty, it is later
revealed in the movie that he never laid a hand on them, and that it was his aunt who decided they should stay.
Alex Jones was being drugged regularly, explaining his behavior and his IQ of a 10-year old. While being tortured by
