Plot: Sapna Aggarwal lives a middle-class life in Delhi with her parents. She leaves home to re-locate to Bombay to purse a career as a Bollywood actress. She meets with several film producers, most want to either make her their mistress or have a sexual relationship with her. She starts to attend movie shoots and that's where she meets with photographer Sunil Verma, falls in love with him, and moves in with him in his apartment, much to the chagrin of her parents who refuse to have to do anything with her. Through Sunil she meets Film Producer, Saxena, who offers to sign her as a leading lady with Bollywood leading man, Karan, which Sapna accepts. Shortly thereafter Sunil telephones Bandra Police Station and informs Inspector Tyagi that Sapna has killed herself. Inspector Tyagi and the Police Commissioner arrive to investigate, find the dead body, as well as a suicide note indicating that Sapna was pregnant, was depressed, and had killed herself. The Police refuse to believe this, start their investigation and question a number of suspects including Ranjeet Hiranand, who had attempted to molest Sapna; Saxena who wanted a sexual relationship with her; Karan who wanted her to get intimate with him; Karan's Agent, Bindoo, who wanted Sapna to sleep with Financer, Kishan; Sunil Verma himself; Actress Kalpana who felt threatened that Sapna was going to take over her place with Karan and other film projects; Dolly, a Prostitute, who is now trying to make it big in Bollywood. The question remains will the Police make any headway or will they be forced to close this file as a 'suicide death'.

Plot: A student at National College, Kiran Mathur lives a wealthy lifestyle in Bombay along with her dad, Advocate Hardayal, and mom, Maya. She has a conflict with Professor Prakash Khanna, which does get resolved, but a scandal ensues when a student posts intimate photographs on the college noticeboard, prompting Principal Chandra Shekhar to dismiss Prakash, while Kiran's marriage with Verma's son gets canceled. A visibly upset Hardayal meets with Prakash, and gets him to agree to marry Kiran and thus end the scandal, to which Prakash agrees. The wedding takes place, and shortly thereafter Prakash gets a job as a Manager with a handsome salary. What Hardayal does not know is that due to a disorder of the nervous system Prakash is virtually impotent, and soon their near-idyllic lifestyles will be scandal-ridden again when Prakash will be accused of not only having an affair with his attractive secretary, Asha Chaudhary, but also killing Kiran's fellow collegian, Shakti Singh.

Plot: Jai (Amitabh Bachchan) is an expert gambler, and has been so as long as he can remember, and has never lost a game. These skills bring him to the attention of the underworld don Saxena (Utpal Dutt), who is interested in hiring him for winning large amounts of money from rich people and then influencing them into doing whatever he wants. Jai agrees to do so, and plays successfully, though unknowingly to entrap a patriotic Indian named Nath (Jagdish Raj) who works for the government. After losing large amounts of money, he is blackmailed into revealing the blueprints of a top-secret military laser weapon that hit any target within 50 miles. When the Indian police come to know of this, they assign the case to Inspector Vijay, who is asked to apprehend Jai at any cost. The only problem is that Inspector Vijay is Jai's look-alike, and is not at all a good gambler. After this Jai and Vijay's professional and personal lives get confusingly mixed up as Jai and Vijay both coincidentally are sent to Rome where Vijay is sent to retrieve evidence against underworld don Saxena and Jai is onto a money-making scheme where he would marry his rich girlfriend Mala (Neetu Singh) to inherit her money. Mala however mistakens Vijay for Jai and Vijay decides to go along with this to find out who his double is. Jai meanwhile meets Shabnam (Zeenat Aman), a club dancer who mistakens Jai for Vijay and is working for a spy ring. She has been sent to seduce Vijay and stop him on his mission to retrieve evidence against the underworld don Saxena and Jai is only more willing to have a little fun before he sets about on his latest money-making scheme.

Plot: Mohan Lal lives in a small rural town in India with his mother, and twin brother, Shankar. In order to improve their lifestyle, Shankar decides to re-locate to Bombay, with hopes to find a job and find accommodation for his Mohan and their mom. Mohan keeps in touch with Shankar through regular mail. Then one day a man named Raja Karan Singh visits them in their small tenement, tells them that he is Shankar's employer, gives them some money to pay for necessities and rent, and asks them to accompany him to Bombay to have his mom medically treated. After his mom recovers, the Raja asks them to live with him in his palace. When Mohan and his mother insist that Shankar be re-called back, they find out that Shankar is dead, and that the person responsible for his death is none other than Raja himself. The police are involved, they arrest Raja and charge him under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code - a charge that may lead to a death sentence. It is then that Mohan finds out that the Raja did not kill Shankar, and he races to overturn the judgment, as well as find the real killer, before the sentence is carried out.

Plot: When Pal's son kills a police constable, his best friend, Saxena, the only witness to this murder, comes forward and as a result Pal's son is arrested and charged with murder. Pal pleads with Saxena to change his witness statement, but Saxena refuses to do so, and as a result Pal's son gets convicted and is sentenced to death. Pal swears to avenge his son's death. Years later, Saxena's sons, Ramesh and Suresh, have grown up. While Suresh, the younger son, is serious, studious, and business-minded, Ramesh is quite the opposite. Pal's son, Prem, befriends Suresh and gets him hooked-up with a gorgeous looking girl, and drugs his drinks, thus making him an addict. He falls in love with this girl and wants to get married to her. His parents and Ramesh are opposed to this, and Ramesh goes to the extent of threatening to kill her. Shortly thereafter, the girl is killed, and a drug-induced Suresh immediately believes that Ramesh is the killer. He abducts Ramesh's to-be bride, Sheetal Batra, and takes her with him to his hideout. Now the climax is set between the two brothers - with Pal and Prem watching delightedly - as they know only one will survive, and the other will be arrested by the police, and get the death sentence, thus leaving the Saxena family childless and without any heir.

Plot: The Munim (Clerk) in Ranimaa's family lives with his son, Kaushal and daughter, Madhavi. After he passes away, Ranimaa brings up both children as her own, along with her only son, Rajesh. Years later, Rajesh has grown up and is of marriageable age. He meets with beautiful Bhanu Saxena and both fall in love with each other. Shortly thereafter, in a boating accident, Kaushal passes away, leaving behind a devastated Madhavi, Rajesh, who blames himself for his death, and Ranimaa. A few months later, Rajesh gets married to Bhanu and she moves in with them. Bhanu dislikes Madhavi and would like her out of the way, she goes to the extent of accusing her of having an affair with her husband. Under pressure, Madhavi goes to kill herself, and is rescued by a young man named Moti. Rajesh likes Moti and would like him to marry Madhavi, to which he agrees. After the marriage, Madhavi bids adieu to Ranimaa, and Rajesh, and moves in with Moti. What Madhavi does not know that Moti had an agenda and an ulterior motive for marrying her, and it looks like she has been dumped from the frying pan into the fire.
