Fishing in the Whitsundays

Fishing is a great Whitsunday past time, whether your trolling or bottom bashing you can have a lot of fun. However some areas of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park are protected green zones. Whilst you don't need a fishing license you must be sure of your location and bag limits, fines apply. On board each vessel there is a zoning guide and a fish guide, which will help you decide what sort of fish you have caught and if you should cook it for dinner! Further information will be supplied during your area brief and most vessels have rod holders for your convenience. We highly recommend you read the Responsible Fishing Practices guide.

Fishing gear is not supplied on board our vessels. Bait can be purchased from the Kiosk at Abell Point Marina. Guests are welcome to bring their own fishing gear or you can hire any gear you require. Just want to kick back and enjoy the serenity without worrying exactly what gear to bring?
