Mare

A mare is an adult female horse or other equine.

In most cases, a mare is a female horse over the age of three, and a filly is a female horse age three and younger. In Thoroughbred horse racing a mare is defined as a female horse more than four years old, but the word can also be used for other female equine animals, particularly mules and zebras, though a female donkey is usually called a "jenny." A broodmare is a mare used for breeding. A horse's female parent is known as its dam.

An uncastrated adult male horse is called a stallion and a castrated male is a gelding. Occasionally the term "horse" is used in a restrictive sense to designate only a male horse.

Reproductive cycle

Mares carry their young (called foals) for approximately 11 months from conception to birth. (Average range 320–370 days.) Usually just one young is born; twins are rare. When a domesticated mare foals, she nurses the foal for at least four to six months before it is weaned, though mares in the wild may allow a foal to nurse for up to a year.

Il Mare

Il Mare (Hangul: 시월애; hanja: 時越愛; RR: Siworae; lit. "time-transcending love") is a 2000 South Korean film, starring Jun Ji-hyun and Lee Jung-jae. The title, Il Mare, means "The Sea" in Italian, and is the name of the seaside house which is the setting of the story. The two protagonists both live there two years apart in time, but are able to communicate through a mysterious mailbox.

The film was remade by Warner Brothers in 2006 as The Lake House starring Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock.

The plot of the movie was also used in the 2015 Kannada movie Minchagi Nee Baralu.

Plot

There are two distinct time-lines intertwined throughout most of the film.

The story begins with Eun-joo moving out of a house by the sea called "Il Mare". As she is leaving, she leaves a Christmas card in the mailbox, asking the next resident to please forward her mail to her. Sung-hyun, an architectural student, receives her card, but is puzzled, since he is the first resident at "Il Mare" and the card is dated 2 years in the future. After a series of back and forth correspondences, Eun-joo and Sung-hyun realize they are living 2 years apart, Eun-joo in the year 1999 and Sung-hyun in the year 1997. After some testing, Eun-joo and Sung-hyun discover that the mailbox at "Il Mare" is enabling their communication and they can pass objects and living creatures through.

My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic (season 1)

The first season of the animated television series My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, developed by Lauren Faust, originally aired on The Hub in the United States. The series is based on Hasbro's My Little Pony line of toys and animated works and is often referred by collectors to be the fourth generation or "G4" of the My Little Pony franchise. Season 1 of the series premiered on October 10, 2010, on The Hub, an American pay television channel partly owned by Hasbro.

Development

Hasbro selected animator Lauren Faust as the creative director and executive producer for the show. Faust sought to challenge the established "girly" nature of the existing My Little Pony line, creating more in-depth characters and adventurous settings, incorporating Hasbro's suggestions for E/I ("educational and informational") content and marketing of the toy line.

Cast

Voice actors for this season include Tara Strong portraying Twilight Sparkle (with Rebecca Shoichet as her singing voice). Tabitha St. Germain and Kazumi Evans portray Rarity and her singing voice, respectively. Ashleigh Ball voices both Applejack and Rainbow Dash. Andrea Libman portrays both Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie, and Cathy Weseluck plays the role of Spike. Supporting voice actors include Nicole Oliver as Princess Celestia, Claire Corlett playing the role of Sweetie Belle, with Michelle Creber as her singing voice (who also plays the role of Apple Bloom), and Madeleine Peters voices Scootaloo.

Katie Hopkins

Katie Olivia Hopkins (born 13 February 1975) is a British television personality and newspaper columnist. Hopkins first appeared on television as a contestant on the third UK series of the reality television programme The Apprentice in 2007. She frequently made personal and critical comments on camera, and turned down a place in the series' finale. She subsequently appeared in I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! on ITV and Celebrity Big Brother on Channel 5. She has written a column for British newspapers The Sun and the Daily Mail and stood as a candidate in the 2009 European Parliamentary election. She has made two appearances on the BBC's Question Time.

Hopkins has been criticised in the media and by advocacy groups and politicians for her comments about migrants, as well as accusations of classism and racism. According to Hopkins she is "pushing back the walls closing in on freedom of speech".

Early life and education

Katie Hopkins was born on 13 February 1975, in Barnstaple, Devon. Her father was an electrical engineer and she has an older sister. She was raised in Bideford, attended a private convent school from age 3 to 16, played sports and learned to play the piano and violin.
