Equus is a genus of mammals in the family Equidae, which includes horses, asses, and zebras. Within Equidae, Equus is the only recognized extant genus, comprising seven living species. The term equine refers to any member of this genus, including horses. Like Equidae more broadly, Equus has numerous extinct species known only from fossils. The genus most likely originated in North America and spread quickly to the Old World. Equines are odd-toed ungulates with slender legs, long heads, relatively long necks, manes (erect in most subspecies) and long tails. All species are herbivorous, and mostly grazers with simpler digestive systems than ruminants but able to subsist on lower quality vegetation.
While the domestic horse and donkey (along with their feral descendants) exist worldwide, wild equine populations are limited to Africa and Asia. Wild equine social systems come in two forms; a harem system with tight-knit groups consisting of one adult male or stallion, several females or mares and their young or foals; and a territorial system where males establish territories with resources that attract females, which associate very fluidly. In both systems, females take care of their offspring but males may play a role as well. Equines communicate with each other both visually and vocally. Human activities have threatened wild equine populations and out of the seven living species, only the plains zebra remains widespread and abundant.
"Thank you" is a common expression of gratitude. It often refers to a thank you letter, a letter written to express appreciation.

Writtle College (near Chelmsford, Essex) is one of the largest land-based university colleges in the UK; it is also one of the oldest. Set in the Essex countryside on a 220 hectare estate, Writtle, previously known as Writtle Agricultural College, is a Partner Institution of the University of Essex and provides FE and HE programmes. It also offers apprenticeships and short courses.
The College is very specialist and offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees as well as high quality research for a number of subject areas.
The College has diversified to meet the changing demands of new students. There has been major investment in IT and science facilities, with free college network access for every student resident on campus. The college has recently built a new Lecture Theatre complex, numerous halls of residence and refurbished its Recreation Centre, including its student venue, The Baa and Chef.
Doctor Stephen Waite was appointed as the new Principal in Spring 2013. The college is structured into three schools: Sport, Equine and Animal Science; Sustainable Environments; Writtle School of Design.
"A Day in the Life" is the final song on the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album. Credited to Lennon–McCartney, the song comprises distinct sections written independently by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, with orchestral additions. While Lennon's lyrics were inspired by contemporary newspaper articles, McCartney's were reminiscent of his youth. The decisions to link sections of the song with orchestral glissandos and to end the song with a sustained piano chord were made only after the rest of the song had been recorded.
The supposed drug reference in the line "I'd love to turn you on" resulted in the song initially being banned from broadcast by the BBC. Since its original album release, "A Day in the Life" has been released as a B-side, and also on various compilation albums. It has been covered by other artists, and since 2008, by McCartney in his live performances. It was ranked the 28th greatest song of all time by Rolling Stone magazine. On a different list, the magazine ranked it as the greatest Beatles song.

This video clearly shows what an average day would be like for an equine veterinary nurse apprentice. An equine nurse specialises in all aspects of equestrian medicine and treatments. Vicky, featured in the video, explains how she starts off her day checking up on all the horses in her care. Her responsibilities include feeding, administrating medicines, running reports and tests as well as general duties and assisting other vets. In the video she administers medicine to a horse who has had surgery. Vicky then goes on to explain about studying the actual course. This is partially college taught and partially industry based. In order to study an equine course, you will need to also work at a practice in order to complete the amount of training you need to qualify. The course is 2 years l...
I've just finished my BSc (Hons) Equine Sports Therapy degree at Writtle College in the UK. I had such a good time at the College, I met so many great people and made many close friends. Most importantly I have learnt so much from my degree which has allowed me to qualify as a Equine Sports Therapist and an Equine Bodyworker (EBW). I would recommend studying at the College to anyone who loves horses. Here's a video with some details about the equine degrees they offer. As well as leaving Writtle College with my degree, I have also been employed by the College as a representative, so it is my job to help anyone with questions about Writtle College, the degree's, how to enrol or how to apply. So if any of you are thinking of studying equine as a degree but aren't sure what to do, or how to ...

A partnership between the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine and the imaging technology company 4DDI is paving a new way to take medical scans of horses. Penn Vet is working with 4DDI to validate a new imaging system called EQUIMAGINE (TM), which relies on robots that can move around a patient to collect high-resolution medical images. Unlike traditional CT scanners, which require patients to be prone, the system can perform imaging studies on a standing patient. This means that a horse would not need to be anesthetized during the image collection. Read more at http://www.upenn.edu/spotlights/robot-driven-imaging-system-opens-new-avenues-discovery

I feel a sickness coming on
It'll scare my bones and cross the law
And I've been poisoned by a song
It's hard to tell where I fell, what went wrong
You reach a point where you can let
Your mind run free in wonder
And you will dig in with the spurs
And lead the beast to water
I know you'll miss the open plains
Where the sky rolls off to nothing
You will gather up the reigns
And leave it all behind you
