Port Royal is a city located at the end of the Palisadoes at the mouth of the Kingston Harbour, in southeastern Jamaica. Founded in 1518, it was the centre of shipping commerce in the Caribbean Sea during the latter half of the 17th century. It was destroyed by an earthquake in 1692 and a subsequent tsunami, and fires. Severe hurricanes have regularly damaged it. Another severe earthquake occurred in 1907.
Port Royal was once home to privateers employed to nip at Habsburg Spain's empire when smaller European powers dared not directly make war on Spain. As a port city, it was notorious for its gaudy displays of wealth and loose morals. It was a popular homeport for the English and Dutch sponsored privateers to spend their treasure during the 17th century. When those governments abandoned the practice of issuing letters of marque to privateers against the Spanish treasure fleets and possessions in the later 16th century, many of the crews turned pirate and used the city as their main base during the 17th century. Pirates from around the world congregated at Port Royal, coming from waters as far away as Madagascar.

Quantum Leap is an American science fiction television series that originally aired on NBC for five seasons, from March 1989 through May 1993. Created by Donald P. Bellisario, it starred Scott Bakula as Dr. Sam Beckett, a physicist who leaps through spacetime during an experiment in time travel, by temporarily taking the place of other people in order to correct historical mistakes. Dean Stockwell co-stars as Admiral Al Calavicci, Sam's womanizing, cigar-smoking companion and best friend, who appears to him as a hologram.
The series features a mix of humor, drama, romance, social commentary, and science fiction, and was named one of TV Guide's "Top Cult Shows Ever."
The first episode introduces Dr. Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula), a scientist working on an experiment called "Project Quantum Leap" in a concealed laboratory in the southwestern desert of the United States, near the end of the 20th century. Beckett, with his team, theorize that time travel is possible within the traveler's own lifespan. With no successful results thus far, Admiral Al Calavicci (Dean Stockwell), Sam's long-time friend and senior officer on the program, is told by the government that they are looking to shut down the project's funding. Sam refuses to allow this, and before he can be stopped, enters the Quantum Leap Accelerator and leaps through spacetime.
Sin City is the title for a series of neo-noir comics by Frank Miller. The first story originally appeared in "Dark Horse Presents Fifth Anniversary Special" (April, 1991), and continued in Dark Horse Presents #51–62 from May 1991 to June 1992, under the title of Sin City, serialized in thirteen parts. Several other stories of variable lengths have followed. The intertwining stories, with frequently recurring characters, take place in Basin City.
A movie adaptation of Sin City, co-directed by Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller, was released on April 1, 2005. A sequel, Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, was released on August 22, 2014.
Basin City, almost universally referred to by the nickname Sin City, is a fictional town in the American west. The climate is hot and arid, although Sacred Oaks is characterized as being heavily wooded. A major river runs through the city, which has an extensive waterfront. Usually twice a year, a major downpour comes, and the city is prone to heavy snowfall in the winter. In the comics, Basin City has a surreal, Pan-American feel. Desert lizards and palm trees are common, while tar pits, desert areas, mountain ranges and flat farmland make up the landscape around the city.

In the late 1600s, Port Royal in Jamaica was known as the "Wickedest City on Earth." Built on a sandbar in one of the world's best natural harbors, Port Royal was the home of the most feared pirates in the Caribbean. At 11:43am on June 7, 1692, came the Great Earthquake. The quake affected the entire island of Jamaica, but Port Royal suffered the greatest damage. During this earthquake, Lewis Galdy was swallowed up by the sand as the city sunk into the ocean. While buried alive he prayed to God, and then something miraculous happened that would forever change him. #amazingfacts #dougbatchelor #portroyal #lewisgaldy #earthquake

While the majority of passengers will be pleased with their experience, others won't. Why? Here are 10 things cruise lines never tell you that you'd best watch out for. 1. Shipboard Casinos Don’t Play by the Rules These floating “entertainment centers” operate on international waters with no gaming commission or governmental agency overseeing the action. Insiders talk about tampered decks, rigged games and tighter-than-usual slots. 2. Raging fire
Can you see the licking flame
Waiting for its time?
Its increasing energy
Preparing for the prime
Fed up with your boring prate
All senses gettin' lost
Second to none, our flame shall rouse
Just like a growing host
Raging fire, burning down the walls
Raging fire, the rebellion force
Raging fire, all across the lands
Raging fire, fights in self defense
The anger grows on and on
The young stand up and fight
No more lies and censorship
All oppressed stand tight
Knights of fortune and dictators
They just stand this heat
We know what we want from life
Beware we brake your greed
Raging fire, burning down the walls
Raging fire, the rebellion force
Raging fire, all across the land
Raging fire, fights in self defense
Wake up break the silence
Come on join our league
We must stand defiant
To dethrone this breed
Raging fire, burning down the walls
Raging fire, the rebellion force
Raging fire, all across the land
Raging fire, fights in self defense
Raging fire
