Also you will get to enjoy traditional miner’s pasties as well as scones with jam/cream and tea/coffee. The pasties were often made by the wives of miners and are half meat/vegetable and half apple pie so you get main and dessert all in one! You’ll hear about their significance to the miners. Please allow extra time for this experience.

We are excited to announce the venue and dates of the 2017 Victorian Tourism Conference. Returning to Melbourne after a successful edition in Bendigo the event will take place in the main grandstand of the famous Flemington Racecourse on Mon 24 and Tue 25 July 2017. Our theme ‘Lights, Camera, Action!’ will delve into the following key streams;

1. LIGHTS – the learning stream. Where new ideas, technologies, theories and research pieces are found. This can fall under supply or the demand side of industry. The takeaways are intended to provide delegates with new, high level information to get thinking differently, OR epiphanies that may lead to action in the very short term to improve their businesses.
2. CAMERA – our marketing stream. There will be traditional marketing updates including digital and social as well as updates from Tourism Australia and Visit Victoria. The focus will be on what you can do in your business to increase your revenue.
3. ACTION! – this stream will include workshops on topics such as change management, the Sharing Economy, accessibility etc. As the title suggests, delegates will be able to take some of the lessons learned and implement into businesses big or small…immediately
