Vasco

The name Vasco, currently used as a Portuguese male name, derives from the medieval Iberian name Velasco, which probably has its origins in the Basque country (in Spanish: País Vasco).

Vasco Road station

Vasco Road is an ACE station on Vasco Road in eastern Livermore, California.

Service

The station mainly serves the workers of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratory and the surrounding industrial and office parks in eastern Livermore in addition to commuters from Livermore headed to job centers in the Silicon Valley to the southwest.

The station is served by commuter Altamont Corridor Express (ACE) trains between San Jose Diridon Station and Stockton. Tri-Valley WHEELS lines 11, 16, and 20X currently serve this location. In the future, express commuter buses (RTD, MAX, Manteca Transit, Tri-Delta Transit, Stanislaus Transit, and Tracer) currently serving the Dublin/Pleasanton BART station may stop at, be truncated to, or extend services to this station.

BART has approved an alignment for its Livermore extension to run along I-580 then tunnel underneath Isabel Avenue to the Livermore ACE station and then continue along the right-of-way to Vasco Road to serve as its final terminal. However, in July 2011, the Livermore City Council reversed its position in response to a petition requesting that the alignment stay within or nearby the Interstate 580 right-of-way, and now favors stations be built at the Interstate 580 interchanges with Isabel Avenue and Greenville Road.

Vasco (album)

Vasco is a two-part EP by Ricardo Villalobos. It was released by Perlon on LP and CD in the spring and fall of 2008. The original 12" vinyl pressings include "Minimoonstar", "Electonic Water" and "Amazordum", alongside remixes of each song by Shackleton, San Proper and Baby Ford. The CD release discards the remixes, but adds "Skinfummel" and the full 32 minutes of "Minimoonstar", extending the song by over twice its length.

"Chill" is a song by the Finnish rock band The Rasmus, originally released on the band's fourth album Into on October 29, 2001

The single was released on June 18, 2001 by the record label Playground Music. It was the second single from the album Into and features the tracks "Chill" and "F-F-F-Falling" (Acoustic). The maxi single also includes the b-side "Can't Stop Me" and the music video to "F-F-F-Falling". It was a number two hit in Finland.

"Chill" is a slow and melodic song, like many others on the album Into.

The music video for "Chill" was shot by the band themselves on a tour in Stockholm, Sweden the same year. The video shows different clips of the band on stage and also on their tour bus.

Chill (film)

Chill is a multi-award-winning 2007 independent low budget horror film written and directed by Serge Rodnunsky and starring Thomas Calabro, Ashley Laurence, Shaun Kurtz, and James Russo.

Development and Plot

The film was based on H. P. Lovecraft's "Cool Air". Similar plot elements include the fact that the doctor in the film (played by Shaun Kurtz) is named Dr. Muñoz as in Lovecraft's story, and must live in refrigerated conditions in order to survive. There is also a mention of the Necronomicon in the film; while this does not occur in Lovecraft's "Cool Air", it does serve in the movie as a clue to its Lovecraftian inspiration. Part of the plot hinges on the refigeration system breaking down, again as in the Lovecraft story. Physically, the character of Dr Muñoz in the film does not resemble the character described in Lovcecraft's story, nor does he speak with a Spanish accent.

Overall, however, the plot of the movie moves away from the Lovecraft story in depicting Muñoz as the controller of a serial killer preying on prostitutes. Muñoz lives in the back of a deli which he runs, and the protagonist Sam (Thomas Calabro), a writer who comes to work at the deli for survival money, gets dragged into the web of killings. Sam also falls in love with a woman named Maria (Ashley Laurence) who runs a clothing stores across the street and is being threatened by a local cop, Detective Defazio (James Russo), whom she dated once.
