George Harrison
George Harrison,MBE (25 February 1943 – 29 November 2001) was an English guitarist, singer, songwriter, and music and film producer who achieved international fame as the lead guitarist of the Beatles. Often referred to as "the quiet Beatle", Harrison embraced Indian mysticism and helped broaden the horizons of his fellow Beatles as well as their Western audience by incorporating Indian instrumentation in their music. Although the majority of the Beatles' songs were written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, most Beatles albums from 1965 onwards contained at least two Harrison compositions. His songs for the group included "Taxman", "Within You Without You", "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", "Here Comes the Sun" and "Something", the last of which became the Beatles' second-most covered song.
Harrison's earliest musical influences included George Formby and Django Reinhardt; Carl Perkins, Chet Atkins and Chuck Berry were subsequent influences. By 1965 he had begun to lead the Beatles into folk rock through his interest in the Byrds and Bob Dylan, and towards Indian classical music through his use of the sitar on "Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)". Having initiated the band's embracing of Transcendental Meditation in 1967, he subsequently developed an association with the Hare Krishna movement. After the band's break-up in 1970, Harrison released the triple album All Things Must Pass, a critically acclaimed work that produced his most successful hit single, "My Sweet Lord", and introduced his signature sound as a solo artist, the slide guitar. He also organised the 1971 Concert for Bangladesh with Indian musician Ravi Shankar, a precursor for later benefit concerts such as Live Aid. In his role as a music and film producer, Harrison produced acts signed to the Beatles' Apple record label before founding Dark Horse Records in 1974 and co-founding HandMade Films in 1978.

Red Lotus (comics)
Red Lotus (Paul Hark) is a fictional character, a mutant in the Marvel Comics Universe.
Fictional character biography
Though he has been affiliated with the X-Men, in particular the X-Treme X-Men team, Red Lotus is not an official member.
Red Lotus was born in Sydney, Australia, to an American parent, and is the heir apparent to the Sydney Chinese Triad, which was run by his grandfather, who was known as Father Gow. When Gow was murdered, Red Lotus was led to believe that the culprit was Gambit by the Examiner, who wanted to gain control of the Triad for himself.
Red Lotus assisted the X-Treme X-Men team against Sebastian Shaw and Lady Mastermind after the truth was revealed, and later helped them while they were trying to repel an interdimensional invasion in Madripoor.
After the invasion on Madripoor, Paul became an ally to Viper and joined her undercover at the Hellfire Club hoping to shut down their mutant slave ring. He was almost murdered by Selene, but Marvel Girl was able to save him.

Harrison released several best-selling singles and albums as a solo performer, and in 1988 co-founded the platinum-selling supergroup the Traveling Wilburys. A prolific recording artist, he was featured as a guest guitarist on tracks by Badfinger, Ronnie Wood and Billy Preston, and collaborated on songs and music with Dylan, Eric Clapton, Ringo Starr and Tom Petty, among others. Rolling Stone magazine ranked him number 11 in their list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time". He is a two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee – as a member of the Beatles in 1988, and (posthumously) for his solo career in 2004.
Harrison's first marriage, to model Pattie Boyd in 1966, ended in divorce in 1977. The following year he married Olivia Harrison (née Arias), with whom he had one son, Dhani. Harrison died in 2001, aged 58, from lung cancer. He was cremated and his ashes were scattered in the Ganges and Yamuna rivers in India, in a private ceremony according to Hindu tradition. He left an estate of almost £100 million.

George Harrison, MBE (25 February 1943 – 29 November 2001) was an English guitarist, singer, songwriter, and music and film producer who achieved international fame as the lead guitarist of the Beatles. Often referred to as "the quiet Beatle", Harrison embraced Hindu mythology and helped broaden the horizons of his fellow Beatles as well as their Western audience by incorporating Indian instrumentation in their music. Although most of the Beatles' songs were written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, most Beatles albums from 1965 onwards contained at least two Harrison compositions. His songs for the group included "Taxman", "Within You Without You", "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", "Here Comes the Sun" and "Something", the last of which became the Beatles' second-most covered song.
Harrison's earliest musical influences included George Formby and Django Reinhardt; Carl Perkins, Chet Atkins and Chuck Berry were subsequent influences. By 1965 he had begun to lead the Beatles into folk rock through his interest in the Byrds and Bob Dylan, and towards Indian classical music through his use of the sitar on "Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)". Having initiated the band's embracing of Transcendental Meditation in 1967, he subsequently developed an association with the Hare Krishna movement. After the band's break-up in 1970, Harrison released the triple album All Things Must Pass, a critically acclaimed work that produced his most successful hit single, "My Sweet Lord", and introduced his signature sound as a solo artist, the slide guitar. He also organised the 1971 Concert for Bangladesh with Indian musician Ravi Shankar, a precursor for later benefit concerts such as Live Aid. In his role as a music and film producer, Harrison produced acts signed to the Beatles' Apple record label before founding Dark Horse Records in 1974 and co-founding HandMade Films in 1978.
Harrison released several best-selling singles and albums as a solo performer, and in 1988 co-founded the platinum-selling supergroup the Traveling Wilburys. A prolific recording artist, he was featured as a guest guitarist on tracks by Badfinger, Ronnie Wood and Billy Preston, and collaborated on songs and music with Dylan, Eric Clapton, Ringo Starr and Tom Petty, among others. Rolling Stone magazine ranked him number 11 in their list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time". He is a two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee – as a member of the Beatles in 1988, and (posthumously) for his solo career in 2004.
Harrison's first marriage, to model Pattie Boyd in 1966, ended in divorce in 1977. The following year he married Olivia Harrison (née Arias), with whom he had one son, Dhani. Harrison died in 2001, aged 58, from lung cancer. He was cremated and his ashes were scattered in the Ganges and Yamuna rivers in India, in a private ceremony according to Hindu tradition. He left an estate of almost £100 million.

The original vinyl release featured two LPs of rock songs as well as Apple Jam, a third disc of informal jams. Often credited as rock's first triple album, it was in fact the first by a single act, the multi-artist Woodstock live set having preceded it by six months.
In regards to the album's size, Harrison stated: "I didn't have many tunes on Beatles records, so doing an album like All Things Must Pass was like going to the bathroom and letting it out."
The album was critically acclaimed and, with long stays at number 1 in both the US and the UK, commercially successful. It was certified 6x platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America in 2001
This is the complete version of the 40th Anniversary edition, which was released in November 2010.

Pedals are Route 66 compressor, Jetter GS 124 and a TC Electronic chorus/flanger (to simulate the Leslie).

New Orleans native Terence Blanchard has had his hands full for well over the last decade. The former educator, musician, and composer has been hard at work promoting and touring for his latest Concord Records release “Choices.” The disc features special musical guests like Lionel Loueke, Bilal, and noted scholar and writer Dr. Cornel West. “Choices” is the follow-up to his Grammy-Award Winning recording “(A Tale of God’s Will)” and further explores the responsibility of the residents of New Orleans on taking actions in their own hands on rebuilding post-Hurricane Katrina.
Born on March 13th, 1962, Blanchard is one of the many great musicians that came from the cradle and birthplace of jazz music, New Orleans. He began playing music when he was five and was inspired to play the trumpet after he heard local native Alvin Alcorn, who played with the Olympia Brass Band and the Heritage Hall Jazz Band. He grew up with another musician who’d also make a name for himself later in jazz music, trumpeter Wynton Marsalis. While in college the young Blanchard toured and played with the Lionel Hampton Orchestra and Art Blakey. It was while he was playing with Blakey where he met and played with tenor saxophonist Donald Harrison and pianist Mulgrew Miller.
During the 1980’s the new resurgence of jazz musicians were appearing on the scene in New York City and both he and Donald Harrison formed the Harrison/Blanchard Group and recorded five albums. Since their break-up, Terence has been on the front lines of jazz music both in front and behind the scenes. He served as the artistic director of the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz and has been a prolific composer in Hollywood scoring over some 50 films. His latest film “Red Tails” is produced by legendary film producer/director George Lucas and is scheduled to released in winter of 2012. He continues to score movies for director Spike Lee who’s partnership goes back to 1991 when he scored the film “Jungle Fever.”

On Monday, September 9, 2013, Examiner.com's Houston Performing Arts Examiner, Gary Lindsay, sat down with Ballet Dancer Jessica Collado, First Soloist with Houston Ballet, at the Houston Ballet Center for Dance in downtown Houston, Texas, to discuss her promotion to First Soloist, and what her experiences have been like as a Ballet Dancer with Houston Ballet.
Among the many subjects discussed were her Act 1, Opening Night premiere performance as First Soloist to open the Houston Ballet 2013-14 Season , which happened to also coincide with her Birthday.
Other subjects covered were her Spring Break performances with Houston-based iMEE in Turin, Italy, her Summer Vacation performances with Post:Ballet in San Francisco, and Houston Ballet's upcoming performances at The Joyce Theater in New York City, and the Lang Lang Dance Project at Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris.
Within the media materials are video and images of Jessica performing with fellow Houston Ballet dancers Ian Casady, and Connor Walsh, and she gives her views on working with Artistic Director Stanton Welch, during his entire time at Houston Ballet, as he currently celebrates his 10 Year Anniversary with the organization.
Jessica also gives many personal observations about what it is like to be a ballet dancer; including her daily, weekly, and performance routines; her physical training regimen and diet; how assignment schedules are determined; and how choreography is notated, taught, and passed along to successive companies.

The Fetishization of Virginity
An educational investigation that asks why concepts like virginity (specifically female virginity) might be elevated to a fetish-like status. It traces a biological argument as well as a fly through early hominid transition into agriculture. Then it moves towards linguistic, evolutionary, patriarchal, and ideological reasoning. The study is incomplete but hopefully will allow further argumentation and inquiry.

On Monday, September 9, 2013, Examiner.com's Houston Performing Arts Examiner, Gary Lindsay, sat down with Ballet Dancer Jessica Collado, First Soloist with Houston Ballet, at the Houston Ballet Center for Dance in downtown Houston, Texas, to discuss her promotion to First Soloist, and what her experiences have been like as a Ballet Dancer with Houston Ballet.
Among the many subjects discussed were her Act 1, Opening Night premiere performance as First Soloist to open the Houston Ballet 2013-14 Season , which happened to also coincide with her Birthday.
Other subjects covered were her Spring Break performances with Houston-based iMEE in Turin, Italy, her Summer Vacation performances with Post:Ballet in San Francisco, and Houston Ballet's upcoming performances at The Joyce Theater in New York City, and the Lang Lang Dance Project at Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris.
Within the media materials are video and images of Jessica performing with fellow Houston Ballet dancers Ian Casady, and Connor Walsh, and she gives her views on working with Artistic Director Stanton Welch, during his entire time at Houston Ballet, as he currently celebrates his 10 Year Anniversary with the organization.
Jessica also gives many personal observations about what it is like to be a ballet dancer; including her daily, weekly, and performance routines; her physical training regimen and diet; how assignment schedules are determined; and how choreography is notated, taught, and passed along to successive companies.

Purandare, Narvekar and Dinanath are three such revolutionaries. On being hunted by the authorities, Dinanath tries to escape with his son Ramdas. However, Ramdas sees his father being shot by Purandare in front of him. What effect will Purandre's betrayal have on Ramdas? Watch the movie.
