While on a mini vacation to Monterey, I decided to utilize my drive down to do some railfanning along the way to maximize my trip. I figured since I was going over Altamont Pass, I would be able to railfan at an ACE station to and from Monterey in addition to stopping by at Salinas as well. With that goal in mind, I decided to railfan at the Vasco Road ACE Station on my way down to Monterey while also railfanning at Salinas and the Livermore ACE Station on my return trip home. The Vasco Road ACE Station continues my series of railfanning at each ACE station along the line. This station doesn't have anything too much of interest, mainly only comprising of the typical station platform and shaded areas for passengers; although it is a rather tranquil place to sit and wait for the train in comparison to the surrounding area. The camera angles can also be somewhat tricky but resulting in equally unique and different vantage points. It is additionally worth noting that this station is just up the road from the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Nonetheless, the action was decent with a surprise UP freight passing through here as well as being my first time hearing the horns on these CabCars, and they sure are loud !
