Music

Music is an art form and cultural activity whose medium is sound and silence. The common elements of music are pitch (which governs melody and harmony), rhythm (and its associated concepts tempo, meter, and articulation), dynamics (loudness and softness), and the sonic qualities of timbre and texture (which are sometimes termed the "color" of a musical sound). Ancient Greek and Indian philosophers defined music as tones ordered horizontally as melodies and vertically as harmonies. Common sayings such as "the harmony of the spheres" and "it is music to my ears" point to the notion that music is often ordered and pleasant to listen to. However, 20th-century composer John Cage thought that any sound can be music, saying, for example, "There is no noise, only sound."

Ze weten nog niet dat deze giga-bunker in zijn geheel afgezonken wordt in de grond rondom aan open water. Op de kelder (4.000 m3 inhoud) wordt een vrijstaande woning (750 m3) gebouwd. In Nederland geldt op de meeste plaatsen voor een vrijstaand woonhuis een maximum bouwvolume van 750 m3. In Rotterdam dacht de eigenaar; "dan onderkelder ik mijn gehele kavel". Architect Vasco da Silva tekende het ontwerp Vasco da Silva | Architects & Planners Rivium Boulevard 301 2909LK Capelle aan den IJssel www.vsap-architects.nl Geen aannemer bleek echter bereid om binnen de begroting de risico's voor dit project aan te nemen, omdat kelderbouw erg lastig is op deze locatie door de drassige polderbodem. Wanneer in Rotterdam Nesselande een flink gat gegraven wordt komt de bodem na een dag net zo hard weer omhoog door ondergrondse waterdruk. Om dit te voorkomen is deze giga-kelder geprefabriceerd op het maaiveld geplaatst en wordt in zijn geheel in de diepte afgezonken. Hierdoor ondervindt de buurt geen overlast. Normaal wordt met stalen damwanden en chemische bodeminjectie een droge bouwput gemaakt en daarin de kelder gestort. Maar dat stuit op milieubezwaren, grote overlast en schade door trillingen in de omgeving. Nu is gekozen voor een nimmer vertoonde actie, een kelderbouwer MBS uit Soest trekt in 1 week de kelder van 37x31 meter vanaf maaiveld trillingsvrij de grond in met hydraulische vijzels aan grondankers. Duurzaam, milieuvriendelijk en zonder schade aan de omgeving.
